Dubai Future to renew rivalry with Illinois in Goodwood Cup
He missed the entirety of the 2024 season but has been in good form since his return to action in Dubai earlier in the year, with an unplaced run in the Prix Vicomtesse Vigier seemingly just a blip as he got back on track behind Trawlerman and Illinois in last month's two-and-a-half-mile Royal Ascot feature.
'Dubai Future is in good form, he worked on Thursday and he's in very good form,' said bin Suroor.
'He had to take a little break, but he is doing very well as a nine-year-old, he settled well at Ascot and that was a good run in the Gold Cup.
'He's in very good condition and we're looking forward to getting him out again.'

Dubai Future is one of eight runners declared for the showpiece event on day one of the Qatar Goodwood Festival and renews rivalry with Aidan O'Brien's Gold Cup runner-up Illinois, as well as John and Thady Gosden's fourth home Sweet William.
O'Brien has a second major contender in the form of runaway Bahrain Trophy winner Scandinavia, while the Gosdens fire a three-pronged assault, with the improving Copper Horse Stakes winner French Master and Military Academy also in the mix.
Alan King will be hoping for some ease in the ground for his 2021 Goodwood Cup hero Trueshan, with the field completed by the David Menuisier-trained Sunway, who tests his stamina over two miles for the first time after finishing fourth in the Hardwicke at the Royal meeting.

July 27 - Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan signed a multi-year contract extension, ESPN reported Sunday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed for Donovan, 60, who had one year remaining on the contract. Donovan guided Chicago its second consecutive 39-43 record last season, finishing ninth in the Eastern Conference. Having been sent across Europe in pursuit of top-level success, in a race Bin Suroor and Murphy won with Benbatl in 2018, Tornado Alert was never too far off the pace and quickened up smartly to lead halfway up the home straight. Map Of Stars, bidding to provide his trainer Francis-Henri Graffard with a second Group One success in as many days following Calandagan's triumph in the King George at Ascot on Saturday, came from further back to throw down his challenge under James Doyle in the Wathnan Racing silks. But try as he might he could not get on terms with Tornado Alert, who was ultimately well on top at the line. Bin Suroor said: 'He won well, the ground was heavy and he's never run before on this ground, but he handled it well. 'I said to Oisin before the race 'just keep him happy and give him a chance', but he was travelling good all the way and when he came off the bridle he saw it out well.' Tornado Alert holds big-race entries in the Juddmonte International at York and the Celebration Mile at Goodwood next month, but Bin Suroor is in no rush to firm up future plans, adding: 'We'll see how he comes back after the race and then we'll make a decision. 'He's a horse who is improving all the time. He ran well at Royal Ascot, his form is very good and he has improved every time he has run. 'Physically he looks better now than when he finished fourth in the Guineas, but with time and age that is what you would expect. 'He has plenty of speed, but I think a mile and a quarter is his best trip at the moment.'

Cubs seek series win against White Sox
July 27 - After swapping one-sided victories in the first two games of their crosstown rivalry series, the host Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs will meet in the rubber match on Sunday afternoon. Rekindling a potent attack ranks atop the White Sox's objectives, to be sure, although rookie right-hander Sean Burke knows he must improve upon his early-season struggles against the Cubs. Right-hander Grant Taylor (0-1, 3.93 ERA), who has never faced the Cubs, is scheduled to be the White Sox's opener on Sunday, but Burke -- originally listed as the starter -- might get the bulk of innings. A four-run second inning propelled the Cubs to a 7-3 victory against the White Sox and Burke on May 17. He allowed six runs (five earned) and seven hits in 4 2/3 innings, including a solo home run from Dansby Swanson. Burke walked five and struck out four in his only career appearance against the Cubs. "[The Cubs] are having a good year and are one of the best teams in baseball, but how my last one went against them, I feel like I beat myself more than they beat me," Burke said. "Just walks. Wasn't around the zone enough. "[There was] one big inning, I let some walks and a couple of key hits [and] they spiraled into a bigger inning. So obviously, they are still a good team. You have to execute pitches against them, but I feel better going into this one." Burke (4-8, 4.19 ERA) would seek his first victory since June 25 but has pitched to a 4.05 ERA in four July starts covering 20 innings. On Saturday, Ian Happ and Matt Shaw hit seventh-inning home runs to break open a scoreless game and lift the Cubs to a 6-1 victory. That followed a 12-5 White Sox win on Friday. Mike Tauchman has homered in consecutive games for the White Sox. Rookie Colson Montgomery had a hit Saturday, but his streak of three straight games with a home run ended. Strong pitching and an opportunistic offense helped the Cubs clinch the season series with the White Sox on Saturday, claiming their fourth victory in five meetings. The final matchup will be Sunday. The White Sox had scored 61 runs while winning six of seven games coming out of the All-Star break but hit a roadblock Saturday. Now the Cubs will aim to sustain their momentum. Shaw has done his part to help the North Siders, who are tied with the Milwaukee Brewers atop the National League Central. The rookie has hit safely in all eight games since the All-Star break and is batting .478 (11-for-23) with four home runs and nine RBIs over that span. Shaw had just two home runs in the first half of the season. "Matt's been swinging it great since the break," Cubs manager Craig Counsell said. "Big hits. ... We've got some confidence going there and we've got him in a good spot." Right-hander Ben Brown (4-7, 6.48 ERA) is set to start on Sunday for the Cubs, his 15th start and 18th appearance this season. Brown struggled on Monday against the Kansas City Royals after being recalled from Triple-A Iowa in his major league appearance since June 23.
