Kickers' 'durable' Back to School shoe range that 'lasts all year'

Daily Mirror3 days ago
Kickers have launched a new campaign with 10% off first orders for school returning in September
While the school summer holidays still feel like an age away for kids, parents may already be thinking of putting some money aside to buy new clothes and shoes for the new year in September. This can often be a stressful time for families in terms of expenses, so the earlier these are sorted, the better.
Kickers, a brand known for quality school shoes, has a great deal on essentials ahead of the new term. The brand has launched its back to school campaign, Back with a Kick, which has 10% off first orders and free delivery for those who spend over £60.
Back with a Kick has been described as the brand's strongest collection to date, with styles for every student. The range is said to help kids to stand out and be noticed for all the right reasons, ensuring they feel fearless from the first day back on the playground. Plus, the shoes are durable, functional, and brimming with style.
Among the collection, shoppers can choose from a range of shoes including the Kickers Youth Tovni Lacer Leather shoes in Black for £58 - or £52.20 after the 10% discount - which are a blend of sporty and smart. The shoe comes in sizes 3 to 6 for kids and they have a low profile and sleek flat sole. They are also crafted from durable, high-quality matte leather and are finished with flat cotton laces.
Another option is the Junior Girls Kick T-Bar Meadow in Patent Leather Black for £52.20 down from £58, a shiny patent leather shoe with flower buckles and a T-Bar style. Alternatively, shoppers can grab the Junior Girls Adlar MJ Scallop Leather Black shoe for the same price, which comes in sizes 1 to 13 and is inspired by the Mary Jane style. This shoe features delicate scallop detailing, is crafted from high quality leather and the style is durable and easy to wear.

If this particular collection isn't for everyone, shoppers could also try the McKenzie Parkin Junior for £35 from JDSports which comes in a range of sizes and is cut from synthetic leather. The shoes also feature a lace fastening and a padded collar for support. Underfoot, they sit on a cushioned midsole and have a grippy rubber outsole. Another option is the M&S Collection Kids' Leather Riptape School Shoes for between £36-£38, which are available in sizes 2 and a half to 9.
The Kickers collection, however, has been rated highly on their website as one shopper said: "I have bought 3 pairs of Tovni shoes for my granddaughters and they've loved them. They've been hard wearing and lasted the school tough test well."
Another said: "We always buy Kickers for both my boys for school. Long lasting, comfy from the off and just a great all rounder shoe for boys with a cool but smart trainer style look. Top notch, would recommend."
Not everyone felt the same way, however, and one customer shared: "Too small. Width was very narrow."
"This is our second pair. The first pair lasted two years. Good quality and nice style," said another shopper.
However, Kickers' Back with a Kick campaign, with its 10% off and free delivery deals, sounds like it could be a great choice for parents looking to get long-lasting, great quality shoes for Back to School season.

The depressing proof that our political class is obsessed with style over substance

It could be the most expensive full stop of all time. One round dot, albeit now painted turquoise and no longer sitting on the line but nudged up halfway between the words 'Gov' and 'UK'. It's the work of advertising agency M+C Saatchi, that once great creative company responsible for the likes of Heineken ads, for recruiting to MI6 and their 'Back the Bid' campaign that helped London win the 2012 Olympic Games. Well they're now reduced to fiddling with full stops on logos. And it's not like they even changed the font, although, when not printed in black and white there is an iteration in colour of a blue background. For this work, this tweak, came their invoice: £532,000. Let's hope that's including VAT but there was a further £99,950 spent by Leicester-based marketing agency Lnet Digital for conducting market research on the logo changes. And there was more related work still, this time by civil servants who produced a 150-page document explaining how the rebrand should be used. It contains the following priceless poetry: 'Our dot is the bridge between the government and the UK, by the side of users to help make information and services easier and more useful. Used within our wordmark and as a graphic device across all channels, the dot is a guiding hand, for life.' Consider that vignette when you wonder why your bins can't be collected more regularly, your new passport delivered sooner, the trains running on time. Because, clearly in Whitehall, what's more fun is to muse on the benevolent power of a dot and how it is like a collective hand across the nation, joining us in a heavenly and warming embrace with government – not to do all the dross that might actually help to get the country moving. Except that if you, on your computer, actually try to put the dot halfway up the line your laptop will start smoking, such is the impossibility. And if you managed this remarkable miracle, it wouldn't help you because in actuality, the dot needs to remain exactly where it was before in order to get you to the website.

Shoppers spot chocolate bar that's a Kinder Bueno dupe but it has a HUGE twist

SHOPPERS have spotted a new chocolate bar in B&M that's a Kinder Bueno dupe - but there's a big twist. The discount retailer has started selling Nutymax bars which have come all the way from Turkey. At first glance they look similar to the popular Kinder Buenos, with two fingers of chocolate filled with crispy wafer and a cream filling. But rather than having a hazelnut filling, they contain pistachio - much like the viral Dubai chocolate bars. They are selling for 89p for a 44g bar, making them much cheaper than a Kinder Bueno. For comparison, B&M sells Kinder Buenos for £1.95. They're cheapest at £1.75 in Iceland, but this still makes them almost twice the price. The Nutymax is described online as having a "crispy wafer and abundant cream filling" and "pistachio puree overflowing from the wafer and the whole pistachios inside". Popular Instagrammer John's Snack Reviews shared his thoughts on the bar, giving it a solid 7.5 out of 10. "The pistachio cream is really decent. Strong nutty cream that tastes like supermarket pistachio spread," he said. "However, the thickness of the milk chocolate coating overpowers it so it's a touch difficult to taste the pistachio until the end." Commenters shared their excitement to try the new sweet treat, with one saying: "This sounds like a DREAM!" Dubai Ice Cream Another wrote "Ooooohhhh yum" while a third said they "need it". But a different commenter said they had tried the bar in Turkey and it was "disappointing". Shoppers seem to be divided as reviewers on which also sells the bar, say they are "the BEST chocolates". One person said: "LOVE them so much, great presentation, great packing and flavor perfect, LOVE them so so so much!!" Another said: "Delicious, never had these before and can't get them here. Will be ordering more in time." What other Kinder Bueno varieties are there? Of course, this is a dupe rather than a new Kinder Bueno version. But you can get a couple of Kinder Bueno varieties. The original version comes with milk chocolate, but there is also a popular white chocolate one. These cost 75p in Asda or £1 in Sainsbury's, Tesco and Morrisons. At Christmas you can also get Kinder Bueno Eggs in an 80g pack. You can also get Kinder Bueno ice creams, which are £4.94 for a pack of four at Asda. They're one penny more expensive at Morrisons, Iceland and Tesco. How to save money on chocolate We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar. Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs... Go own brand - if you're not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you'll save by going for the supermarket's own brand bars. Shop around - if you've spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it's cheaper elsewhere. Websites like let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you're getting the best deal. Look out for yellow stickers - supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they've been reduced. They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged. Buy bigger bars - most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar. So if you've got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
