Baby oil and a torched Porsche: key moments from Sean 'Diddy' Combs' trial

FILE PHOTO: Special agent Yasin Binda shows evidence photos from hotel where Sean "Diddy" Combs was arrested (including baby oil), during Sean "Diddy" Combs' sex trafficking trial in New York City, New York, U.S., May 16, 2025 in this courtroom sketch. REUTERS/Jane Rosenberg/File Photo NEW YORK (Reuters) -The jury in Sean "Diddy" Combs'sex trafficking trial is due to begin deliberations on Monday. Combs pleaded not guilty to all five counts he faced. Here are seven key moments from the trial testimony: Baby oil and Astroglide Prosecutors on May 21 showed jurors bottles of baby oil and Astroglide lubricant that Homeland Security Investigations found during a search of Combs' Miami Beach home in March 2024. Prosecutors said Combs used those items in sexual encounters with his girlfriends and male escorts sometimes called "Freak Offs." Gerard Gannon, an HSI agent who took part in the raid, testified on May 21 that agents found 25 bottles of baby oil and 31 bottles of Astroglide in Combs' closet. 'Voyeurism as a fantasy' Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, a rhythm and blues singer who dated Combs for 11 years, said that within the first year of their relationship he introduced her to the concept of "voyeurism." "He described voyeurism as a fantasy that he had where he would want to see me with another male and having sexual interaction," Ventura testified on May 13. Red lights, stripper shoes Another former girlfriend of Combs' who testified under the pseudonym Jane said on June 5 that she took part in sexual encounters with Combs and male escorts which they called "hotel nights" from 2021 through 2024. Jane said the rooms would be lit with red lights, and that she and Combs would choose together the outfits she wore, which usually included "provocative lingerie and really high stripper shoes." The 'Punisher' and a nude male with a veil Sharay Hayes, a male exotic danger known as "The Punisher," testified on May 20 that he frequently was paid to take part in "Freak Offs" with Ventura and Combs. The first time, while he and Ventura were applying baby oil on each other, Hayes said he saw a nude male enter the hotel room carrying Astroglide lubricant and covering his face with a veil "like what the Muslim women wear." Hayes said he later learned the man was Combs. Kid Cudi's dog locked in a bathroom and a torched Porsche Scott Mescudi, the rapper known as Kid Cudi, testified on May 22 that after Combs learned in December 2011 that Mescudi was seeing Ventura, Combs broke into Mescudi's home, opened Christmas presents Mescudi had bought for his relatives, and locked Mescudi's dog in a bathroom. Weeks later, Mescudi said his Porsche was set ablaze with a Molotov cocktail in his driveway. "I knew he had something to do with it," Mescudi said of Combs. 'Crying and saying no' Ventura fought back tears as she said Combs raped her in her living room in 2018, after they ended their relationship. "I just remember crying and saying no but it was very fast," Ventura testified on May 14. 'Is this coercion?' Jane testified on June 9 that after a dispute at her home last year, Combs kicked, punched and dragged her in her backyard. She said Combs then directed her to perform oral sex on a male escort named Anton even though she had told him she did not want to. According to Jane, Combs got close to her face and said, "Is this coercion?" (Reporting by Luc CohenEditing by Sandra Maler)

Robert Eggers To Write & Direct 'A Christmas Carol'; James Gunn Confirms New 'Wonder Woman' Movie

A film can have the perfect script, the perfect set, or the perfect actor, but without the right director, it will ultimately flop. Believe it or not, this is a belief that has been tested over and over again, and has been the reason why many supposed surefire films died in the water, while other unassuming stories became household names. With that in mind, we're incredibly thankful that two visionary directors are helming the following two highly-anticipated films. Featuring an exciting reboot and a classic retelling, here's our report on what's happening in the world of cinema. Robert Eggers To Bring 'A Christmas Carol' To Life; Willem Dafoe May Be Lead Actor Following the successful Christmas release of 'Nosferatu', director Robert Eggers is looking to scare and terrorise folks again, namely the greedy rich, with another holiday film, one that is more apt for the season. As per Deadline's report, Eggers is working alongside Warner Bros. to bring the classic ghost story 'A Christmas Carol' to the big screen. Not only that, but it has also been reported by insiders that a name is already attached to the project and is set to play the lead role of Ebenezer Scrooge, one Willem Dafoe. Dafoe has been Eggers' muse as of late, as the two have collaborated across three different films: 'The Lighthouse', 'The Northman', and 'Nosferatu'. Once again, Eggers is taking a highly popular classic story and reimagining and retelling it for a modern audience. And much like his previous works, the filmmaker is taking a hands-on approach, as he will be taking on the roles of director and script writer for the film. For those who are unfamiliar with the original source material, 'A Christmas Carol' focuses on Ebenezer Scrooge, an initially cold-hearted miser who absolutely loathes Christmas. He is then visited by his former business partner Jacob Marley and the spirits Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. Originally penned by legendary English fictionist Charles Dickens in 1843, the story has seen multiple reinterpretations and still persists today not only as a Christmas tale, but also as a critical piece of English literature. When you give it enough thought, this is actually a match made in heaven. Throughout his career, Eggers has been well known for setting his films in the 1800s. Add to that his meticulous obsession with quality, authenticity, and accuracy, and it's no surprise that period films have become his speciality. Combine that with the story's innate supernatural elements, and you have the makings of a truly epic film. In the meantime though, we must wait for Eggers to complete his work on his current feature project 'Werwulf', which will start filming later this year. New 'Wonder Woman' Now In The Works We are roughly a month or so away from the highly-anticipated release of the new 'Superman' movie, the first major entry in DC Studios' new DCU. But before the reimagined Kryptonian can take flight, Gunn has already broken the news about the company's latest project in the development pipeline, and it's about the Amazonian princess we all know and love. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gunn has revealed that a 'Wonder Woman' movie is officially in the works. The DC CEO has gone on record saying that the 'Wonder Woman' movie is 'being written right now', but added the small detail that the writing process is 'slow moving, but it's moving.' As to how much has been written is anyone's guess right now. Additionally, Gunn has not confirmed who is writing the script either, so it is an absolute mystery that we have to get back to at a later date. What is confirmed, as per Variety's reporting, is that Gal Gadot will not be reprising her role due to various internal conflicts that have happened at DC. So now, it is an even bigger mystery on who Gunn and co. are eyeing for the role. DC has taken a similar approach to Marvel and its MCU in that they are planning to release a steady stream of content, both made for streaming and the big screen, to help shape the continuity of the DC Universe across multiple forms of media. The first chapter, dubbed 'Gods and Monsters', is designed to be the foundation of the core characters that we might see in future films as well as set the tone for subsequent chapters. With other projects now underway, such as Craig Gillespie's 'Supergirl' and HBO's 'Lanterns' coming to fruition, we're slowly seeing what they mean by 'Gods and Monsters'. #SHOWBIZ: Nabila Razali: 'Please don't kiss the baby at the akikah event'

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer and actress, Nabila Razali, has urged guests attending the akikah (baby's blessing) event for her newborn son in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, tomorrow to be mindful of their behaviour and manners to prevent any untoward incidents. In a news report today, the 33-year-old singer specifically reminded guests not to kiss her young son, who was born on Christmas Eve last December. "Please be mindful of the standard operating procedures (SOPs), such as not trying to come into contact with the baby, like kissing him, so that I can ensure his comfort throughout the event," she said. "I hope guests will understand and respect my request." Nabila and her husband, Nik Iruwan Nik Izani, expressed their hope that they have made sufficient preparations to welcome guests to the event, which also serves as a Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration. "If the turnout is larger than what we've prepared for, we also have a Plan B ready," she added.
