Bunker of Hell: Men Allegedly Paid to Rape Small Children in Underground Enclosure for More Than a Year

Yahoo22-07-2025
Three Alabama men have been arrested for allegedly operating what local authorities described as an 'abhorrent' and 'horrific' child sex abuse ring out of an underground bunker near their homes in Brent, Ala.
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office announced this past weekend that William Chase McElroy, Dalton Terrell, and Andres Velazquez-Trejo have all been arrested and charged in connection with the child sex abuse case.
Local authorities began investigating the case back in February, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office said in a social media post announcing the men's arrest on Saturday.
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office said McElroy, 21, has been charged with four counts of rape, six counts of human trafficking, six counts of sodomy, and four counts of kidnapping. Terrell, also 21, was charged with six counts of rape, 12 counts of sodomy, and five counts of human trafficking. Meanwhile, Velazquez-Trejo, 29, was charged with six counts of human trafficking.
'Sheriff Wade reiterates that such abhorrent behavior will not be tolerated in Bibb County and that offenders will face prosecution to the fullest extent of the law,' the sheriff's office said in a statement. 'As this is an ongoing case, details are currently limited.'
Some details have emerged from local reports, however.
AL.com reported over the weekend that the three men allegedly carried out their child sex abuse operation for more than a year, between January 2024 and April 2025. The men's alleged victims ranged from 3-to-10 years old, the outlet reported, citing charging documents.
McElroy and Terrell allegedly admitted to sexually abusing the children, according to AL.com, while Velazquez-Trejo is accused of selling nude images of the victims to other suspects before also selling the children themselves.
According to AL.com, authorities haven't yet determined how the three men knew each other, but noted they all live in trailers within a mile of one another.
The children were allegedly drugged and brought to the bunker, according to a report by WBRC, which also described the bunker as a local storm shelter.

Robert Turner Jr., the District Attorney for the 4th Circuit of Alabama, said in a statement on Tuesday that there are 'more anticipated arrests to follow' beyond the three men already indicted.
'This case represents one of the most troubling and complex investigations our office has undertaken, these allegations are sadistic and sickening,' Turner Jr. said.
Assistant District Attorney Bryan Jones said "it's just unimaginable that someone could do this to a child,' according to WBRC.
'Children are defenseless, and they depend on adults to take care of them and protect them," Jones added. "And then when adults do these types of things to them, it's just really horrific.'
Neighbors and other community members have since taken to social media to call for justice. Misty Colburn, a neighbor who lived near one of the suspects, told WVTM that she believes the men 'deserve way worse' than prison in her mind.
'I couldn't imagine the amount of pain the children went through and the amount of pain that they should go through,' the neighbor said. 'I don't think there's a way to even do it.'

Mexican prosecutor killed in drive-by shooting caught on film

Mexico Crime Gun violence MediaFacebookTweetLink Follow A federal prosecutor in Mexico has been killed in a drive-by shooting that has shocked the nation after video footage of the attack circulated online. The footage shows the prosecutor sitting on a road in the border city of Reynosa, Tamaulipas state, shortly after his car has caught fire. A white vehicle then drives past and the sound of multiple gunshots rings out. The prosecutor falls to the ground and then lies motionless. It's not clear what caused the fire. The Mexican Attorney General's Office has identified the killed man as Ernesto Cuitláhuac Vásquez Reyna, who worked in the state of Tamaulipas. It said the attack on Monday was still being investigated, but preliminary information suggested it may have been linked to organized crime gangs who had been recently targeted by authorities. It pointed to the seizure by security forces of more than 1.8 million liters of stolen fuel in a bust last month as being among the main lines of investigation. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said Tuesday that her security cabinet was in touch with state and federal prosecutors to 'do justice in this case.' In a post on X, the Tamaulipas Governor Américo Villarreal condemned the attack, expressed solidarity with the prosecutor's family and offered to help the 'the Attorney General's Office and the Government of Mexico in the search for justice and the construction of peace.' Reynosa is the most populated city in Tamaulipas with roughly 700,000 residents. It is located just across the Rio Grande from Hidalgo, Texas.

Friends search for missing 12-year-old Victoria Jackson, last seen near Minnehaha Falls

Dozens of people on Tuesday are searching for a girl who has been missing for days. Minneapolis police say 12-year-old Victoria Jackson was last seen walking from Minnehaha Falls at 8 p.m. Saturday. The focus for Tuesday's search, however, was her neighborhood in southeast Minneapolis near the 5200 block of Minnehaha Avenue. It's a search made all the more urgent because family friends say Jackson has Type 1 diabetes. The friends say her insulin pump has since stopped pumping. For friends Danielle Matthias and Jackie Robinson, they're hoping the search efforts lead to answers. "It's been really hard to try to support the family but also know that we need people out looking," said Danielle Matthias. "I want to give a big shoutout to our unhoused population. They've been very helpful, they've been helping canvas," said Jackie Robinson. Robinson started a Facebook page on Monday as a central space to communicate. Closer to Jackson's home, members of the nonprofit Northstar Search and Rescue say they're helping with Minneapolis police's efforts. "Everyone's been opening the door, you know, like that's another thing," said Robinson. "When you knock on a door you don't know if people are going to answer but people are answering and they know her name. They are asking 'any update on Victoria? We're looking for her. Our kids go to school with her.'" Matthias and Robinson are hoping to use Tuesday's National Night Out as a platform to spread the word in an increasingly urgent search. "We want everybody to know her, to be looking out for her. So that if she is seen somewhere, someone knows to get her some support," said Matthias. Jackson was last seen wearing a tan "Rugrats" shirt and blue jeans. She stands 5-foot-1 and weighs 140 pounds. Family friends say she's likely unconscious and will need medical care immediately.
