Katt Williams back in Memphis as part of broadcast team for FedExCup Playoffs event

Comedian Katt Williams will be back in Memphis for the FedEx St. Jude Championship − only this time, he will be part of the PGA Tour Live broadcast team. Williams will serve as an on-course correspondent during the first and second rounds (Aug. 7-8) of the tournament, the first event of the 2025 FedExCup Playoffs, at TPC Southwind. "I'll be walking alongside the world's best players as part of the marquee group coverage live Thursday and Friday morning," the 53-year-old Williams said in a video posted by PGA Tour Live on its social media channels. It won't be the first time Williams has ventured onto the course at TPC Southwind for the event. He was also on hand in 2024, but he kept a somewhat low profile. A three-minute video montage of the popular funnyman providing his insight, analysis and reverence for the game was subsequently published on the PGA Tour's website. "This is why this is the No. 1 sport. It's the sport of gods, but it's played by mortals," the unabashed golf fan remarked at one point. This time around, Williams will be part of the broadcast team, joining ESPN analyst Michael Collins to provide real-time coverage, commentary and, almost certainly, some comedy during the PGA Tour Live stream on ESPN+. The tournament will also air on Peacock. It won't be Williams' first foray into sportscasting. In August 2024, he was part of the PGA Tour Live broadcast team during The Tour Championship. Williams is no stranger to Memphis nor the Mid-South. He routinely performs in the area, most recently in Feburary 2025 at FedExForum as part of his Heaven On Earth tour. At various points, Williams' regular presence in the region has fueled rumors that he actually maintains or maintained a residence of some kind in the Mid-South. Prize money at FedEx St. Jude Championship pays six figures to the top three finishers

The 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship is the first of three events in the 2025 FedEx Cup Playoffs. And big money is at stake, with the winner at TPC Southwind clearing north of $3.5 million. The top 70 from the regular-season rankings are in Memphis this week but only 69 golfers will be there as Rory McIlroy chose to skip it. Prize money payouts for the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship The winner will get $3.6 million, the runnerup will bank nearly $2.2 million and third place is good for six figures as well. Last place (70th) is $40,000 but without McIlroy not in the field, last-place money is $40,400.

Max Homa's son welcomes his dad home from Wyndham Championship in adorable social media clip

A disappointing 2025 season for Max Homa ended at the Wyndham Championship this past weekend, but it didn't take long for a certain someone to lift his spirits. When Homa arrived back home from Greensboro, North Carolina, he was greeted by the cheery face of his young son, Cam. In a viral video posted to social media by Max's wife, Lacey, the couple's two-year-old boy couldn't contain his excitement as he saw his dad approaching the door of the airport, racing around and yelling "Daddy's back! Daddy's back!" Cam even came prepared with a homemade sign that read, "Welcome home dad!" Watch the adorable interaction here: Just days before the 2025 Masters in April, the Homas announced that Cam will soon have a sibling, as Max and Lacey are expecting their second child any day now. Homa's season on the golf course didn't go quite as planned, as the 34-year-old California native failed to make the cut in nearly half his starts and only recorded one top-10. He finished 110th in the FedEx Cup standings, well short of the top 70 threshold required to make the playoffs, which begin this week in Memphis. Still, though, as World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler has asserted in recent interviews, for most of these players, there's a lot more to life than golf. Surely Cam's greeting at the airport reminded Max of that truth.
