Shardul Thakur and Mittali Parulkar's love story began in school in Maharashtra. They got engaged in 2021 and married in 2023.
Indian cricketer Shardul Thakur, known for his all-round performances on the field, is currently in England for the ongoing Test series. Off the field, however, his story with wife Mittali Parulkar has captured just as much attention – not for drama, but for its steady charm and quiet beginnings.
Shardul and Mittali first met during their school years in Maharashtra. What began as a simple friendship gradually turned into a lasting bond. At the time, neither of them imagined the path their lives would take, one toward international cricket, the other toward entrepreneurship.
After years of staying together through personal milestones and professional rise, Shardul proposed to Mittali in November 2021 during an intimate engagement ceremony in Mumbai. The occasion was attended by close friends and family, including some of Shardul's teammates like Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul.
Two years later, on February 27, 2023, the couple tied the knot in a traditional Maharashtrian wedding in Karjat, near Mumbai. It was a celebration filled with music, rituals, and a guest list that included familiar faces from cricket, such as Shreyas Iyer and Yuzvendra Chahal.
Her father is a businessman, and her mother a homemaker, but Mittali's journey has been shaped by her own ambitions. Today, she runs her enterprise independently, balancing public attention with private focus.
Shardul's career may revolve around stadiums and scoreboards, but away from the cricket spotlight, it's the personal partnership with Mittali that continues to be one of the most defining innings of his life.

ENG vs IND: Aakash Chopra slams England's spin bowling choices for Oval Test

Cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra has raised eyebrows over England's decision to go into the final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy without a specialist spinner. The decider, set to begin on Thursday, July 31, at The Oval, will settle a closely contested series between India and on his YouTube channel, Chopra questioned England's curious selection strategy, highlighting the contrast with India, who are expected to field two or even three spinners. In stark contrast, the hosts have opted for an XI devoid of a frontline spinner, instead banking on part-time options like Joe Root, Jacob Bethell, and Harry Brook-whom the England camp themselves had jokingly dismissed as a "ghatiya" (terrible) you call him filth, we'll also call him right-arm filth," Chopra said bluntly, referring to Harry Brook's part-time off-spin. The young batter has bowled just eight overs in the series, gone wicketless, and conceded 55 runs-hardly a threat to a strong Indian batting line-up. Jacob Bethell, a left-arm spinner, is also known more for his batting, while Joe Root, despite his experience, has struggled with the ball, picking up only two wickets at an average of 114.50 from 52.1 overs."You said he's a terrible bowler, not us-and now you expect him to play a serious role in a Test match?" Chopra added, mocking what he called confusion within the English camp regarding Brook's the spin conundrum, England's pace unit has undergone a complete overhaul. Ben Stokes, nursing a knee injury, has been ruled out, while Jofra Archer, Liam Dawson, and Brydon Carse are also unavailable. In their place, England have brought in Jamie Overton, Josh Tongue, Gus Atkinson, and Jacob Bethell."Why didn't Ben Stokes use his best bowlers when the mandatory overs began in the last match? That's when you needed your strike bowlers, but you held them back," Chopra questioned, pointing to questionable decisions in the previous Woakes is the only survivor from the original pace attack, but his series returns-10 wickets at an average of over 52-have been underwhelming, and his batting hasn't provided much value Tongue's inclusion offers some hope, having taken 11 wickets in two Tests at an average of 33.63. Atkinson and Overton, both playing their first match of the series, bring raw pace and bounce, but lack match rhythm and recent red-ball exposure."England have changed almost everything for the final match. They're entering a crucial Test with an inexperienced attack and no specialist spinner. It's a bold gamble-let's see if it pays off," Chopra concluded, calling the selection "puzzling".- EndsTune InYou May Also Like

Out-Of-Favour India Star Bowls At Full Tilt In Nets Ahead Of Series-Deciding Oval Test. Watch

Veteran pacer Deepak Chahar was spotted training with the Indian cricket team on the eve of the fifth and final Test against England at The Oval. In a viral video, Chahar rolled his arm over in the nets in a non-India gear, helping the Indian batters prepare for the challenge in their final training session of the ongoing tour. The visitors trail 1-2 in the five-match series, with the fifth and final game starting later today at Surrey's home ground. This isn't the first time that Chahar has joined the Indian nets in the ongoing tour. He had also joined the team ahead of the Lord's Test, also held in London earlier this month. Meanwhile, Chahar is yet to represent the country in red ball cricket. VIDEO | India Vs England: Pacer Deepak Chahar joined the Indian team's practice session and bowled in the nets at The Oval Cricket Ground in London ahead of the fifth Test starting tomorrow. #indiavsengland #deepakchahar — Press Trust of India (@PTI_News) July 30, 2025 India are expected to make multiple changes to the side which forced a draw in the Manchester Test last week. The visitors, meanwhile, have still to confirm if Jasprit Bumrah will play at the Oval. Bumrah's back injury earlier this year prompted India to announce the fast bowler would only feature in three games during the current series. The world's top-ranked Test bowler made his third appearance at Old Trafford and has little time to recover after bowling a draining 33 overs, during which he took two wickets and conceded 100 runs for the first time in a Test innings. "We are going to take a decision tomorrow (Thursday)," India captain Shubman Gill said Wednesday. "The wicket looks pretty green. So, we will see how it turns out." England confirmed Wednesday they will be without captain Ben Stokes after the inspirational all-rounder was ruled out with a shoulder injury -- a huge blow to the hosts. In last week's drawn fourth match at Old Trafford, which preserved his side's 2-1 series lead, Stokes became just the fourth England cricketer to score a century and take five wickets in the same Test. The 34-year-old is also the leading wicket-taker on either side, with 17 wickets at 25.23, while sending down 140 overs -- the most the lively seamer has delivered in any series.

Hyderabad dances to Chetas' beats

If you found yourself anywhere near Hyderabad's Quake Arena, chances are you didn't just hear the music, you felt it. The beats were blaring, the crowd was bouncing, and the night? It belonged to DJ Chetas. With Chogada and Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai kicking off the set, it didn't take long for the energy to turn electric. But this wasn't your usual EDM night. At Chandni Bar Meets Bollywood, the night was drenched in desi flavours and sprinkled with nostalgia. 'It's all about recreating that raw, high-energy Chandni Bar vibe with a Bollywood twist. Think classic dance floor hits, fresh remixes, and pure madness with lots of twists and surprises,' he said, summing up what the night truly felt like. There was something wild, familiar and so unapologetically Indian about it. This wasn't just music; it was memory. Every drop, remix, and chorus brought nostalgic memories back. Hyderabad didn't just show up; it showed out. And Chetas, who's no stranger to big stages, clearly felt the city's energy. 'The Hyderabad crowd has unmatched energy, man! They don't just listen, they feel the music. Every time I play here, it feels like a celebration,' he said.
