Simon Pegg 'relishes' the anonymity that comes with living in the countryside
The 'Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning' star moved to Hertfordshire from London's Crouch End 13 years ago, and he admits it was the best decision he made, because he can lead a "normal life" and not feel "constantly looked at".
He told Rolling Stone UK magazine: "The thing I relish the most is being at home, and the familiarity of dog walks on a Saturday is nice.
"I really love living in the countryside.
"It's quiet, it's beautiful and it's normal."
Asked if he loves the anonymity it gives him, Pegg - who has daughter Matilda, 16, with his wife Maureen McCann - replied: "One hundred per cent.
"I used to live in Crouch End before we moved here, and I was basically living on the set of 'Shaun of the Dead'.
"Everybody was really nice, and I never suffered any hassle, but I felt visible, and I couldn't really go into any shop or a restaurant without the feeling I was being constantly looked at, and that is of course a residual effect of doing a job which puts you in the public eye, and you have to be prepared for that.
"But you can also mitigate that if it gets a bit overwhelming, and going out to live on a road where no one else lives was a pretty good way of doing that."
The 55-year-old actor has suffered bouts of depression since he was 18, and the actor previously opened up about how he initially struggled to cope when he made the switch to Hollywood in 2005.
He shared: "I was not in a good place, emotionally and physically.
"It was a weird thing as well, because the dreams I'd had as a kid were manifesting and I wasn't happy and I couldn't figure out why. And that was down to personal things, depression. I had to get happy in myself before I could start enjoying anything else. Which I did.
"But at that time it was very frustrating to be there and not be able to fully enjoy it, because I just felt all at sea."
Pegg has found a sense of peace and happiness in recent years.
However, the actor believes that his "demons" are always lurking in the background.
Pegg - whose film credits include 'Hot Fuzz' and 'Shaun of the Dead' - previously told GQ magazine: "What I have come to realise from back then is that depression is always there. No matter what I did.
"I don't think you ever really lose your demons. You just try to find a way to keep them in their place."

He told Men's Health magazine: "When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore. "Golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth." Tom previously took a year-long sabbatical as he felt he "needed" a break from acting work after appearing in the TV series The Crowded Room. He said: "It was just something I needed to do. I had been acting flat out since I was 11." The Uncharted star recalled that the highlight of his time away from the spotlight was coming out on top in a golf tournament with two of his brothers and English pro Tommy Fleetwood. He quipped: 'It was the best day of my life. I called my lady and was like, 'Listen, I'm thinking of turning pro.'"

The Spider-Man: Homecoming star is the new face of the band's Paradigme fragrance and he's revealed he's been working with the design house for many years and always relies on their outfits to make him feel good if he has to walk a red carpet. He told WWD: "I've worked with Prada for years now and continue to opt for their clothes on carpets - an environment that usually makes me uncomfortable, and Prada [has] never failed to fill me with confidence when I'm stepping out. "What I love about fragrances is how it can connect you to specific memories. Sometimes when I'm having a bad day, I pull my favourite one out of my drawer and it helps me remember the good times ... " Tom added: "I like one spritz on either side of my neck, and then two on my left wrist – I kind of rub my wrists together. And once I've got my clothes on, I might do a final spritz over the top, but nothing too extensive." Fellow actor Robert Pattinson is also the face of a fragrance after starring in a campaign for Dior Homme, and he previously told GQ he has a "ritual" as he likes to "spray it in the air and walk through it". Tom said of his pal's perfume ritual: "Of course he does. I love Rob to death, he's a good friend of mine – we just made another movie together. "I can absolutely picture him, coiffing his perfect hair, walking through a mist that he's created for himself. He's very dramatic and very artsy, and it seems exactly like the kind of thing that he'd do."

Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas were spotted among a sea of fans at the latest Oasis concert. Cruise, 63, and his upcoming "Deeper" co-star, 37, caught the Gallagher brothers performing at London's Wembley Stadium on Friday, July 25. English producer DJ Goldie snapped a selfie with Cruise at the show, nearly 20 years after the band mocked the "Mission: Impossible" actor. They've since been seen together several times, including on her birthday in April and at David Beckham's birthday party in May. De Armas admitted that it was "surreal" to hear kind words about her work from Cruise, ahead of their new film. "It's very special," de Armas told Access Hollywood in May when asked about him raving about her role in the film. "It's very surreal that an actor like him, like someone like him, likes the movie and my performance and my work, and we're working together now so, yeah, it's pretty, it's really amazing." In a photo and video captured by a bystander and shared on X of the April birthday stroll, Cruise walked next to de Armas with his hands behind his back and was holding what appeared to be an olive green dog leash with a pouch. The pair were accompanied by another woman as well as security guards. The day before de Armas' birthday, the "Ballerina" actress was photographed with Cruise as they disembarked a helicopter that was flown by the "Minority Report" star. On Feb. 13, the two were pictured walking through London's Soho neighborhood as de Armas carried what appeared to be takeout bags of food from a restaurant.
