Marcus Rashford has officially joined Barcelona on a loan deal until June 2026, with a non-mandatory purchase option set at approximately €30m.
During his unveiling, Rashford expressed his long-held desire to play for Barcelona and his readiness for this new chapter in his career.
He will wear the iconic number 14 shirt, previously donned by Johan Cruyff and Thierry Henry, acknowledging the significant responsibility it carries.

Revealed: Huge difference between what Vinicius Junior wants and what Real Madrid are offering as contract standoff continues

Vinicius Junior 's contract saga at Real Madrid has taken another twist — with fresh claims revealing just how far apart the two parties are in negotiations. The Brazilian winger, who turned 25 last month and celebrated with a lavish two-day party in Rio de Janeiro, is said to be demanding more than €25million net per year to extend his stay at the Bernabeu. According to Spanish radio programme El Larguero, broadcast on Cadena SER, that figure has been deemed excessive by Real Madrid, who are reportedly only willing to offer close to €20m net annually — around £335,000 per week before tax. One source close to the player reportedly told El Larguero that accepting the club's current offer would be 'absurd', adding: 'He wants to earn more than €25m net, regardless of what other players earn.' Vinicius is under contract until June 2027 and has publicly stated he wants to remain in Madrid 'for a long time'. But the ongoing standoff means no new talks are currently scheduled. According to Cadena SER, the forward's entourage have now 'parked' the issue and will not re-enter discussions until 2026 at the earliest. Real Madrid's patience may also be wearing thin. While Vinicius has a huge €1billion release clause, the club are reportedly willing to consider offers if his wage demands don't soften — a startling change of tone considering his status as one of the team's most marketable stars. It's a far cry from the optimism Vinicius expressed earlier this year. Back in February, he said: 'It's very exciting to be able to open talks with Real Madrid about my renewal.' He added: 'God willing, the negotiations will be resolved in the coming days and I'll be able to stay here for much longer.' Vinicius has scored 106 goals in 322 games for Madrid since joining the club as an 18-year-old in 2018.

Man United prepared to take MASSIVE HIT on Rasmus Hojlund this summer as they continue pursuit of Benjamin Sesko - just two years after signing the Dane for £72m

Manchester United have opened the door to selling Rasmus Hojlund for £30million – two years after he joined the club in a deal worth up to £72m from Atalanta. United want to sign a new striker this summer and are involved in a tug-of-war with Newcastle over RB Leipzig centre-forward Benjamin Sesko. It has cast doubt over Hojlund's future at Old Trafford, with United ready to take a massive hit under profit and sustainability rules. The initial fee when the Denmark international signed in 2023 was £64m and he is two years into a five-year contract, so his book value should be around the £45m mark. Hojlund has been linked with a return to Italy and as a possible replacement for Sesko at Leipzig, but would prefer to stay at United. 'I think my plan is very clear and that is for me to stay and fight for my spot whatever happens,' he said after scoring in the 4-1 win over Bournemouth on the club's US tour in Chicago earlier this week. However, United need to sell players to help pay for new signings and manager Ruben Amorim was unable to give any guarantees over Hojlund's future, saying: 'I am really happy with Rasmus, but I don't know what is going to happen until the end of the market.' Hojlund has scored 26 goals in 95 games for United, but hit the net just four times in the Premier League last season. The club have decided to bring in a new striker this summer after spending more than £130m on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo who will make his debut against Everton in Atlanta on Sunday night.

Barcelona reject Chelsea swap offer for Christopher Nkunku

Barcelona rejected Chelsea's offer of a swap deal involving Christopher Nkunku, according to reports in Spain. Chelsea have been open to offers for Nkunku this summer as the French forward has struggled to secure a regular role at Chelsea since his £52 million move from RB Leipzig in 2023. The 27-year-old has attracted plenty of interest with Arsenal and Bayern Munich both making enquiries in the January transfer window, while Manchester United have also considered a move this summer after failing with a loan bid earlier this year. Chelsea have also dropped their asking price for Nkunku from £65 million to £43m. According to Mundo Deportivo, Chelsea have also used Nkunku as a makeweight in their bid to sign Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez. However, Barcelona turned down the chance to sign Nkunku and opted to sign Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United instead. Fermin has also been linked with a move to United, with reports in Spain claiming that Ruben Amorim's side are ready to pay a €70m (£61m) fee. However, Fermin is intent on staying at Barcelona, while the club's head coach, Hansi Flick, does not want the 22-year-old to leave. More Trending Nkunku, meanwhile, faces an uncertain future and Enzo Maresca did not rule out the prospect of still having the 27-year-old in his squad for the start of the new Premier League season. 'If Christo is here with us, it is because we think he can help us and he can be with us even next season,' Maresca said during the Club World Cup. 'But as you said, there are many speculations, not just about Christo, about many players. 'And then if something is going to happen, I don't know because we said many times when the transfer window is open, anything can happen in terms of players that can arrive or players that can leave.'
