ATS arrests mastermind of conversion racket
1 2 Lucknow: UP ATS arrested Jamaluddin alias Chhangur Baba, 70, the alleged mastermind of illegal mass religious conversions, and his wife, in Balrampur on Saturday. Investigators said Mumbai residents Ghanshyam Rohera, his wife Neetu, and daughter Samale converted to Islam in Dubai in Nov 2015 and assumed the names Jamaluddin, Nasreen, and Sabiha, respectively. Later, Jamaluddin and his family started living near Chand Auliya Dargah in Balrampur, with the man identifying himself as Sufi saint Hazrat Baba Jamaluddin 'Peer Baba'. According to FIRs lodged in various UP districts, the couple allegedly lured at least 40 people to convert to Islam. ADGP (law and order), Amitabh Yash said, "Jamaluddin, a self-styled spiritual leader, orchestrated a religious conversion network. The STF initiated a probe into the group's activities, uncovering a complex operation where people were lured into conversion through romantic relationships, force or allurement. " "Investigation also revealed that the gang was involved in converting minors. Financial scrutiny of its operations revealed that over Rs 100 crore was funnelled into 40 accounts from foreign sources, allegedly to fund conversions," he said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like This Could Be the Best Time to Trade Gold in 5 Years IC Markets Learn More Undo "Based on these findings, STF filed a case, which is currently being investigated by ATS." Police said a diary, recovered from Jamaluddin's hideout, had names of over 100 people who could be lured to convert. Given the case's national and international ramifications, state police have sought a multi-agency probe involving NIA and ED. The probe was launched on a complaint by a Balrampur resident, Arvind Kumar, who reported suspicious activities in the district's Madhpur village. "Investigations revealed that for the past 3-4 years, Jamaluddin and his family had been residing near Chand Auliya Dargah and portrayed himself as Sufi saint Hazrat Baba Jamaluddin 'Peer Baba'. He also published a book 'Shijra-e-Tayyaba' to propagate Islam," an ATS officer said. Despite converting, their official Indian documents — including passports, Aadhaar, PAN cards, and property records — still reflect their Hindu identities. "In one of the cases, a woman from Lucknow was allegedly lured into a relationship by a Muslim man who used a Hindu identity. She was coerced by Neetu and others to convert," the officer said. "Jamaluddin ran a gang and had a fixed incentive structure for conversions. Rs 15-16 lakh was fixed for conversions of Brahmin, Sikh or Kshatriya women, Rs 10-12 lakh for OBCs, and Rs 8-10 lakh for other castes," he added. Gang members allegedly travelled to Islamic countries nearly 40 times.

'Jail or blacklisted': Ethan Klein wants Twitch CEO Dan Clancy to get jailed over HasanAbi toy gun incident
(Image via @huffnmorepuff & @hasanthehun/X) Tensions are boiling over in the streaming world as H3H3's Ethan Klein called out Twitch CEO Dan Clancy with a scathing statement: 'I hope Dan Clancy ends up in jail.' This explosive remark came after a fiery controversy involving political streamer HasanAbi, sparking a debate over Twitch's selective rule enforcement and alleged hypocrisy among creators. The Trigger: HasanAbi's Toy Gun Outburst On July 3, 2025, HasanAbi went viral after a clip surfaced showing him reacting aggressively to a viewer's alleged threats. During a live stream, he identified a YouTuber believed to be behind the hate messages and pointed what appeared to be a toy gun at the screen, ranting: 'Let's hang Hasan and Mamdani for treason, he says... What are you going to do? Try to f**king put malware in my phone? Is that what you're going to do? You skinny b**ch! Ugly a**!" The video ignited backlash, with some accusing HasanAbi of inciting harassment and even potential doxing — a serious violation of Twitch's terms of service. Ethan Klein Fires Back The next day, Ethan Klein, known for his bold opinions on the H3 Podcast , took to Instagram with a brutal critique. Klein claimed that Hasan had not only doxed the wrong person but had also done so while wielding a realistic-looking toy weapon — something Ethan himself had been previously crucified for. (Ethan Klein called out Twitch over HasanAbi toy gun incident on Instagram (Image via @h3Hhproductions/Instagram) His story was unapologetically direct: 'You spent the last year calling me a doxxer for doing the same exact thing... I'm not offended… I just find the brazen hypocrisy funny.' But the sharpest barb was reserved for Dan Clancy. Ethan accused the Twitch CEO of enabling favoritism and failing to enforce platform rules consistently, saying: 'It's approaching criminal negligence... I hope Dan Clancy ends up in jail or blacklisted from ever working in tech again.' Twitch's Silence Raises Eyebrows The controversy gained even more traction when Daniel Saltman, CEO of REDACT and fellow streamer, stepped in. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo He revealed that he had reported HasanAbi's channel through every official Twitch channel, with no response. Saltman tagged Clancy directly on X (formerly Twitter), accusing Twitch of ignoring reports and dodging accountability: 'This has now been reported on every available system. Good luck finding a reason to ignore them.' Fallout & What's Next At its core, this controversy underscores two major issues: platform favoritism and inconsistent enforcement. Twitch has yet to issue an official statement, and as criticism mounts, pressure on Dan Clancy continues to grow. Will Twitch respond? Will there be consequences for HasanAbi? And will Clancy survive this latest firestorm? One thing's for sure: this isn't over. For real-time updates, scores, and highlights, follow our live coverage of the India vs England Test match here. Lynching after car hit sparks communal strife in Bhilwara's Jahazpur
Bhilwara: Communal tensions flared Saturday in Jahazpur town of Bhilwara district after a minor car collision with a vegetable vendor's cart led to violence in which a young man was beaten to death the previous night. A key temple event was postponed Saturday and permissions for weekend Muharram processions revoked after threats from Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal not to allow any such events in this area of the BJP-governed state. Police deployments were stepped up and markets in Jahazpur town were shut Saturday. The trouble began when Sitaram Keer (25) was headed to Jahazpur with three others in a car. Their vehicle lost control and struck a cart belonging to Sharif Mohammad, a local vegetable vendor. Tonk resident Keer was dragged out of the car and lynched by a mob of vegetable vendors and other locals, said police. VHP, Bajrang Dal and other Hindu organisations staged protests outside Jahazpur police station demanding immediate arrests. Police registered a murder case against 15 people and detained three youths for questioning. The protesters refused to allow post-mortem until their demands, including compensation and a job for Keer's family, were met. Jahazpur BJP MLA Gopichand Meena echoed the protesters, saying Muharram processions would not be allowed to proceed until the accused were arrested and compensation was provided to the victim's family. On Saturday, an agreement was reached between the protesters and the authorities for compensation of Rs 22 lakh, a contractual job for a member of Keer's family and an undertaking from the police to promptly arrest the accused. The post-mortem was done Saturday and Keer's body handed over to his family, officials said. "We are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning several individuals. Three youths have been detained," Bhilwara SP Dharmendra Singh Yadav said, appealing for peace in the region. In spite of the agreement, the atmosphere remained surcharged. A ceremony at Jahazpur Fort honouring local deity Lord Peetambar Rai Maharaj, scheduled after a 10-month interval, was indefinitely postponed. VHP demanded suspension of Muharram processions across Bhilwara district. "The brutal killing of the Hindu youth has caused immense anger in the community," said local VHP functionary Vijay Ojha. Local authorities said they continued to monitor the situation closely to prevent any further escalation of tensions in the area.
