De Novo Solutions in Newport named fastest growing in Wales
De Novo Solutions, which has its headquarters in Langstone, has been recognised as Wales's fastest-growing private company.
The astonishing rise of de Novo has seen an incredible 187% compound annual growth over the last three years, reaching £9.8 million in sales the year to May 2025.
The Sunday Times 100 list, which is released online today and will be featured in print this weekend, ranks the UK's leading entrepreneurial businesses outside the tech product space. To qualify, companies must be headquartered in UK, be privately owned and have achieved sales of over £5million in the last year.
Founded four years ago by experienced entrepreneurs Mark Sweeeny and Tim Warner, de Novo Solutions has rapidly made a name for itself in the field of digital transformation, working with both the public and private sectors. Its client list includes major government departments such as the Ministry of Justice, high-profile commercial names like ITV and Ofgem.
The company's success stems from its focus on cloud-based solutions using Oracle and ServiceNow platforms, along with its own proprietary services such as Odyssea, a cloud solution for finance and HR and Value as Service (VaaS), a next generation managed service offering.
Mark Sweeny, de Novo's CEO, said: 'To be recognised just four years in is phenomenal. We're building something special here in Gwent – combining innovation with sustainable growth and a strong team culture. It's a real celebration of what's possible in South Wales.'
The firm currently employs 115 staff and is expanding internationally, opening a new office in India this year. With continued investment in its services and personnel, de Novo aims to grow further south Wales's role as a flourishing hub for digital excellence.

Expanding carbon capture project ‘marks significant moment for Welsh industry'
The Welsh Secretary welcomed fresh negotiations to plug two more energy generation projects into the developing HyNet North West carbon capture network project, which will see emissions captured and permanently locked away. A new power station at Connah's Quay, Flintshire, will be added to a list of three schemes which are already classed as priority for a deal. The power station at peak output is expected to produce enough clean energy to power the equivalent of 900,000 homes. The Ince Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (InBECCS) project in Cheshire, England – which is designed to use waste wood to generate low-carbon energy – will also be prioritised, according to the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. 'This is another significant moment for the growing clean energy industry in Wales,' Ms Stevens said. 'It's fantastic to see North Wales at the forefront of the carbon capture industry and the hundreds of new jobs being created by the HyNet project will help drive regional growth as well as accelerating our drive towards lower bills and energy security.' The Government expects these projects will secure an additional 800 jobs in North Wales and north-west England, industry minister Sarah Jones has said. 'We are securing the jobs of the future, the power for our homes and the protection of our planet by becoming world leaders on carbon capture and storage,' she added.
