Reid resigned from the role earlier this month, citing a 'standards breakdown' and saying: 'Over time, I have witnessed a steady erosion of the principles we promised to uphold. Decisions are being made behind closed doors, bypassing the very structures and people the FIA exists to represent.'

'Malcolm has had a distinguished career in global motor sport. For over 40 years he has competed at the highest level both as a driver and technical partner to teams. This experience will be invaluable to the FIA and our member clubs as we continue to grow grassroots and professional motor sport, driving innovation in the sport to benefit fans, drivers and teams.'

'The FIA has played a central role in my career,' said Wilson, 'and I very much look forward to supporting the president and all the FIA family in its important mission. There has never been a more exciting time to be in motor sport, and I know first-hand the benefits the sport brings to families and communities across the world.
'I look forward to working with the president for the duration of his current term of office, bringing our sport to new audiences and ensuring we deliver the very best championships for all our competitors.'
Ben Sulayem's current term of office ends this year; he is up for re-election in December.

'He's done it all': 2027 4-star QB commit explains why he committed to Texas A&M
Texas A&M's 2027 recruiting class started things off with a bang after landing the first commitment in the class, four-star quarterback Jayce Johnson, whose elite arm talent makes him a likely five-star prospect by this time next year. Under second-year OC Collin Klein, Texas A&M has become a destination for top quarterback prospects after landing 2026 4-star Helaman Casuga. This season, redshirt sophomore Marcel Reed enters the year as the starter after trading starts with Conner Weigman last season, and after the former five-star prospect transferred to Houston this offseason, Reed's future as the starter is set in stone. While he's expected to return in 2026, current backup Miles O'Neill and Casuga look like the immediate options if he were to leave the program. Looking ahead, Jayce Johnson is not your run of the mill quarterback prospect who lacks at least one or more traits, as the Georgia native possesses a live arm, and is already one of the more accurate passers in the class. After one or two seasons with the Aggies, he is destined to compete for the starting job. After his commitment on Sunday, Johnson spoke to 247Sports' Tom Loy, discussing his decision, choosing the Aggies over Tennessee, South Carolina, Mississippi State, and Florida State. "I'm headed to Texas A&M. It's the place for me because the coaching staff is very loyal. They have been there since early in my recruitment. They have shown so much love. Also, the environment around the campus is exactly what I'm looking for. It's like what I'm living in now." Culture has been the winning factor on the recruiting trail for Mike Elko and his staff, developing strong and lasting bonds with every one of the 27 commits in the 2026 cycle, which has continued to win over elite prospects like Johnson. While he reportedly made up his mind during his last unofficial visit to College Station, his relationship with Collin Klein likely sealed the deal this early in the process. "I have known him since I was young. He's been through everything I want to do. He's done it all. He's been there and done that. The way he coaches, I went out there for a spring practice, and he takes so much pride in what he does. He's a family guy. I love that about him as well." Johnson's firm commitment to Texas A&M could result in more momentum this fall, as the standout signal caller further stated that several of his 2027 recruiting peers want to play with him at the next level, including a rising four-star wide receiver out of Florida. 2027 4-star QB Jayce Johnson breaks down early commitment to the Texas A&M Aggies
Valdosta (Ga.) standout has been one of the more heavily recruited quarterbacks in the 2027 class, holding 33 offers and visiting schools across the country. But even through the busy spring and summer, he always had a clear plan. That was making an early decision and he chose . 'I always knew I would commit early,' Johnson told Rivals. 'I'd been talking about it for a while. I wanted to lock in before my junior season.' That moment came on his most recent trip to Texas A&M, a place that had been high on his list since he first visited for Junior Day in January of his sophomore year — the same day he earned his offer from the Aggies. 'It just felt right. The love they showed — not just to me, but to my mom, dad, and little sister — it meant a lot. I'm big on love and loyalty, and being around the people and the town in the summer really sealed it.' Texas A&M edged out programs like , which Johnson also visited this year, along with , , and . Ultimately, though, the culture and family feel in College Station stood out. 'The environment reminds me of home. It's a football town, it is a country town — just like Valdosta. And I really connected with the staff. I love their spiritual side, their discipline, and how they bring people together.' Head coach was a big factor, along with offensive coordinator , whose quarterback development track record made a strong impression. 'Coach Klein has been there and done it. He knows how to put me in position to succeed. I love his coaching style,' Johnson said. 'And — that's my dog. He brings love and loyalty. He's a funny guy, but he keeps it real.' Though he's locked in, the No. 64 prospect in the understands how the recruiting world works and plans to maintain connections with other staffs while staying focused on his future in Aggieland. 'I'm taking my spot at A&M because that is the school I love, but I know how things can go,' he said. 'I'm going to keep relationships and take visits, but A&M is where my heart is.'

Texas A&M lands commitment from elite 2027 4-star QB out of Georgia
Texas A&M's recruiting pipeline in Georgia is real. The program's future at quarterback will always be unknown in today's transfer portal age. Still, knowing that redshirt sophomore Marcel Reed will likely return in 2026, combined with 2026 four-star commit Helaman Casuga joining the program, Sunday's news that 2027 four-star signal caller Jayce Johnson has committed to Texas A&M is just more proof that coach Mike Elko and OC Collin Klein are dedicated avoiding any drop off at the most critical position in the game. Choosing the Aggies over Tennessee, Florida State, Mississippi State, and South Carolina, Johnson is the first 2027 commit in A&M's class after four-star tight end George Lamons decommitted from the program late last month. This summer, Johnson has continued to improve as a pocket passer and has established himself as a dual-threat quarterback, but he needs to be less static in the pocket when his early reads break down. If Reed and Miles O'Neill return in 2026, Texas A&M's QB room will be deep enough to let Johnson develop into the star many of us expect he'll be. Ahead of his junior season at Lowndes High School, Johnson made his mark during his 2024 sophomore season after throwing for 1,799 yards, 16 touchdowns, and three interceptions, paired with over 300 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. These numbers are just the start for Johnson, whose elite arm talent and impressive touch put him ahead of schedule as a passer. According to 247Sports, Johnson is currently positioned as the 63rd-ranked prospect in the 2027 cycle, the 6th-ranked quarterback, and the 7th-ranked prospect in Georgia.
