Elon Musk responds to videos of fight in downtown Cincinnati
A fight in the streets of Cincinnati that went viral this weekend has caught the attention of the world's richest man, Elon Musk, who took to his own platform, X, to comment on the brutality of the attack.
The brawl involving multiple people took place seemingly late Friday night near the corner of Fourth and Elm streets. Downtown was teeming with people attending the Cincinnati Music Festival at Paycor Stadium.
Multiple fights broke out after two men had what police called a "verbal altercation." A woman could be seen in videos of the incident knocked to the ground, possibly unconscious.

The incident was seized upon by those who argue the current city administration, including the police chief, are not doing enough to combat crime in the city's urban core.
Musk retweeted an End Wokeness post about the fight and commented on a Libs of TikTok post. The Libs of TikTok post emphasized the race of those of those involved, which sparked a racially charged discourse in the replies.
"That guy almost killed this woman. Aggravated assault," Musk replied to the post.
The End Wokeness post commented on the lack of national media coverage. Musk retweeted that post, saying, "Why zero stories?"
Both Libs of TikTok and End Wokeness have a large following with 4.3 million and 3.8 million followers, respectively.
Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge called the behavior "cruel and absolutely unacceptable." She said her investigators are working diligently to identify and arrest those responsible.
In a retweet of Ohio Sen. Bernie Moreno's X post, Harmeet Dhillon, assistant attorney general for the U.S. Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division, said: "Our federal hate crimes laws apply to ALL Americans" and that the division will monitor how local authorities handle this incident.
"Nobody in our great nation should be the victim of such a crime, and where race is a motivation, federal law may apply," she added.

Virginia State Police identify two victims killed in crash on I-64 in Augusta County
Virginia State Police have identified two people who were killed on Interstate 64 after a truck went off the roadway the morning of July 22 in Augusta County. A 2026 Freightliner TMA crash truck, used to protect workers and motorists in highway work zones, was eastbound on I-64. At approximately 6:19 a.m. at mile marker 89, police said the driver overcorrected, causing the truck to veer off the right side of the interstate. The truck went through a guardrail and down an embankment, striking a tree and overturning on its side. Both the driver and passenger in the truck died at the scene. The driver was identified as Georgeanna L. Hardesty, 51, of Iron Gate. The passenger was Sabrina L. Harris, 50, of Covington. Both were wearing seatbelts, police said. The crash remains under investigation. Multiple people killed in mass shooting incident at Bangkok market: police
Multiple people were shot and killed at a market in the Thai capital of Bangkok on Monday afternoon, police said. A post on the official Facebook page of the Royal Thai Police says there were at least six fatalities, including the gunman who took his own life. Shelter-in-place order issued in Harrisonburg after random knife attack injures woman
A shelter-in-place order was issued late in the afternoon in Harrisonburg after a woman was attacked by a stranger with a knife on July 23. The victim, a 54-year-old Harrisonburg resident, was taken to Sentara RMH with critical injuries but she is expected to recover, a press release said. The attack took place in the 1000 block of Chicago Avenue, prompting the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Emergency Communication Center to issue the shelter-in-place order for the neighborhood and nearby streets. Officers from the Harrisonburg Police Department immediately began to search the area for the suspect, who fled the scene. A police canine tracked the suspect's scent to a possible location, the release said, which led to surveillance footage being obtained. The footage was shared across multiple platforms, police said, and the suspect was identified as 44-year-old Hunter Booth of Harrisonburg. "The Harrisonburg Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.) Team executed a search warrant athis known residence on Chicago Avenue, and Booth was taken into custody without incident," the release said. Booth is charged with attempted first-degree murder. He is being held at the Rockingham-Harrisonburg Regional Jail.
