Back To The Beginning: Ozzy Osbourne Reunites With Bandmates For Final Show
Black Sabbath's farewell concert, Back to the Beginning, was met with utmost support and appreciation from the fans.
The iconic rock band Black Sabbath performed their final live show on Saturday, July 5, at Birmingham's Villa Park. Fans were delighted to witness the 76-year-old frontman Ozzy Osbourne reunite with his original bandmates one last time. The stadium erupted in huge cheers as Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward, and Ozzy Osbourne took the stage before bidding farewell to live performances.
Black Sabbath's farewell concert, Back to the Beginning, was met with utmost support and appreciation from the fans. During an interview with Billboard, the bandmates opened up about their last live appearance. When asked if the concert was truly the final stage appearance by the original quartet, bassist Geezer Butler replied candidly, 'With this band, I have given up trying to predict a 'last ever' performance. Every time I have stated 'never again,' something comes up, like this Villa Park gig."
Osbourne made three public stage appearances since 2018, and according to his wife, Sharon, he always regretted not getting the chance to say a proper thank you to the fans. 'He kept saying, 'It's my one regret,' and 'I want a chance to really say thank you.' And this is what we thought would be the best way to do it. It's a celebration of Ozzy and Sabbath and the music," Sharon shared during the interview.
Black Sabbath was formed in 1968 in Birmingham by guitarist Tony Iommi, drummer Bill Ward, bassist Geezer Butler, and lead vocalist Ozzy Osbourne. The band attained global popularity for their occult themes with horror-inspired lyrics. On their final live performance, Sabbath was joined by multiple artists, including Guns N' Roses, Slayer, Tool, Gojira, Pantera, Alice In Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax, and others. Actor Jason Momoa also served as emcee at the concert.

How to reunite, and depart, with class
A day before the two estranged Thackeray cousins shared a stage in Worli in years, two other squabbling siblings met - without throwing insults, or guitars, at each other. After 16 years, Oasis played again, with the Brothers Gallagher making the Cardiff crowd weep, cheer, and everything in between 'Wonderwall' and 'Don't Look Back in Anger'. Tanked up with 'Champagne Supernova' and 'Cigarettes and Alcohol', even Taylor Swift fans were gobsmacked by all the rock'n'roll. Then, the very next day in the country of England next to Wales, Ozzy Osbourne sat on a black throne in Birmingham and declared, 'Let the madness begin!' - which is how all retirement parties should start. Black Sabbath reunited for the first time in two decades, proving that arthritis and heavy metal are not mutually exclusive. Bill Ward's drumming was thunderous, Tony Iommi's riffs still melted faces, and frontman Ozzy, despite Parkinson's and spinal surgery, sang like the Prince of Darkness he's always these two megagigs were a masterclass in how to bow in and out with style. Reunions and farewells are two sides of the same vinyl: one scratches nostalgia, the other spins legacy. Done wrong, they seem like politicians announcing their retirement only to come back in another party. Done right, it's Liam and Noel, and Ozzy going back to the beginning. 6 Years After Release, BTS' Track Home Hits No. 1 On Billboard Chart
The song Home is one of the tracks on BTS' extended play Map of the Soul: Persona. ARMYs could not be happier because not only did BTS return as a full group after completing their respective military services, but they have also recently announced future group activities. While the septet, comprising RM, Jin, J-Hope, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkook, is busy preparing for their brand-new chapter, one of their old songs has made a huge comeback. BTS' song Home, from their extended play Map of the Soul: Persona, has reentered the World Digital Song Sales chart this week. Even though the song was released more than six years ago, it has just reached No. 1 on the Billboard chart of the world's bestselling tracks in the United States. Home first came out in April 2019, and this was the very first time that it topped the chart. This is a major achievement for the group, as it marks their 38th No. 1 on that chart, surpassing any other artist in the world. Home, a pop and R&B track, was written by RM, J-hope, and Suga, alongside ADORA, Bobby Chung, Julia Ross, Krysta Youngs, Pdogg, and others. The lyrics of the song express how the group considers their fans to be their home, where they return when they are tired and lonely. Fans of the K-pop supergroup in the US have been listening to and downloading Home a lot lately, showcasing their love for BTS as they recently reunited. As of now, Home is the only song of the group ranking on the Billboard US charts, but their albums have been doing well too. On the World Albums chart, BTS' 2022 anthology album Proof is at No. 9, whereas their 2020 studio album Map of the Soul: 7 is at No. 24. With all the buzz regarding their comeback to the music scene, these numbers might rise again soon. Just a few days ago, all seven members of BTS sat together for the first time since 2022 and addressed their fans during a Weverse live. During the session, they announced their brand-new album, scheduled for release in Spring 2026, between March and May, followed by their highly anticipated world tour. While fans have to wait nearly a year before they can listen to their new music, BTS, in the meantime, has decided to release their first live album, Permission to Dance on Stage – Live. Scheduled to drop on July 18, the album will feature performances from their Permission to Dance tour. First Published:
