In a blow to a country long plagued by political instability, the Constitutional Court sidelined the 38-year-old leader over a complaint linked to a leaked phone call in which she appeared to criticize the army and side with Cambodia in a border dispute — a potential breach of conduct under the constitution. She has 15 days to respond. For now, Deputy Prime Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit leads a shaky coalition.

Elon Musk has a one-word response to 'America Party' polls
Elon Musk has a one-word response to 'America Party' polls originally appeared on TheStreet. Elon Musk may now be reaching a political crossroads of his own making. Just a few days before, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO had pledged to launch a new "America Party" party if former President Donald Trump's contentious tax-and-spending bill were to pass. "If this insane spending bill passes, the America Party will be formed the next day," Musk wrote on X. "Our country needs an alternative to the Democrat-Republican uniparty."With the "Big Beautiful Bill" now on its way to Trump's desk for a July 4th signing, political watchers have their eyes on what Musk will do next. The 800-page legislation makes permanent the 2017 tax cuts that were President Trump's signature legislative accomplishment, and it slims funding for several federal programs, while it adds more than $3 trillion to the national January, Trump appointed Elon Musk as senior advisor and de facto director of the newly founded "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE), tasking him with reducing bureaucratic waste through an executive order- until his departure in late May. On July 4, Musk reposted a poll showing 40% of voters said they are likely to back a single word from Elon Musk: "Encouraging." An outspoken fan of Bitcoin and Dogecoin, Musk has repeatedly clashed with government regulators over their perceived overreach, most recently with the One Big Beautiful Bill. Meanwhile, President Trump has also dabbled in crypto as a key pillar of his economic policy platform, bringing forth Acts on stablecoins and removing redundant laws in the crypto industry, often referred to as Operation Choke Point 2.0. Crypto bettors are watching it super closely. On crypto betting platform Polymarket, the odds of Musk starting a party by December 31 are now up to 49%, with more than $700,000 in wagers put in. Another crypto betting platform, Kalshi, shows a similar movement, with 41% odds as of July 4, up from under 10% a week before. At press time, BTC is trading at $109,935.55, nearing the 24 hour high of $110,000, as per Kraken. Elon Musk's poll on starting new party garners 64% votes
Elon Musk's poll on starting new party garners 64% votes originally appeared on TheStreet. The U.S., home to most billionaires, is celebrating its 249th Independence Day on July 4, 2025. But Elon Musk, the world's wealthiest man who once championed cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Dogecoin, isn't satisfied with the two-party political system in the country. Musk, who until recently supported President Donald Trump, asked on X this Fourth of July if the U.S. should create a new political party. So far, nearly 64% of the respondents on the social media platform have voted in favor of creating a new party. Musk referred to it as the "American Party." He explained: "One way to execute on this would be to laser-focus on just 2 or 3 Senate seats and 8 to 10 House districts. Given the razor-thin legislative margins, that would be enough to serve as the deciding vote on contentious laws, ensuring that they serve the true will of the people." While Trump pursued an aggressive pro-crypto policy, it's his flagship "big, beautiful bill" that pushed Musk away from him. The tech mogul's contention is that the bill would raise the debt ceiling by $5 bill has drawn criticism not only from Musk but from other quarters too, such as Brian Armstrong, the billionaire CEO of the Coinbase (Nasdaq: COIN) crypto exchange. If Congress doesn't lower the rising national debt, Bitcoin might become the world's reserve currency, Armstrong warned despite being a crypto entrepreneur. The potential devaluation of the U.S. dollar is a concern that's on the mind of many of the bill's critics. The president is expected to sign the big, beautiful bill into law on July 4. The total crypto market cap stood at $3.33 billion at the time of writing, down 2.37% a day. Laura Loomer airs old texts with Tucker Carlson after he brands her ‘world's creepiest human'
Far-right activist Laura Loomer snapped back at Tucker Carlson after he deemed her the 'world's creepiest human,' sharing an old text he sent her before mocking him over his claims that he was 'physically mauled' in bed by a demon. Carlson took shots at Loomer and his former Fox colleague Mark Levin on the After Party podcast, claiming the latter was 'wearing the Trump skinsuit' because he thinks it helps his political cause. Levin and Loomer have both been vocal supporters of President Donald Trump's decision to bomb Iran, whereas Carlson has firmly opposed the intervention. After claiming many of his former Fox colleagues 'hate Trump,' Carlson vented his frustrations over seeing people, like Levin and Loomer, excitedly defending president. 'Laura Loomer, the world's creepiest human, I don't even know where she came from or who she is exactly, but she's running around saying, 'I'm Donald Trump's defender.' It's bizarre,' Carlson said. Loomer was quick to accuse Carlson of lying about not knowing her, even sharing a screenshot of what she claimed was a text Carlson sent her in 2023 thanking her for her support after he was fired from Fox News. 'His cell is in my phone,' Loomer wrote on X. 'He also said I'm the 'world's creepiest human'. This coming from a grown man who claims he was attacked in his bed by a demon [and] left with bloody claw 'scars.'' Loomer taunted: 'We have never seen the 'scars.'' Last year in a YouTube video, Carlson claimed he was 'physically mauled' by a demon that left him bleeding with still-visible scars and 'claw marks.' He said he was asleep in his bed with his wife and four dogs at the time of the alleged attack. Carlson has recently made headlines as one of the most outspoken critics of Trump's decision to push the U.S. into Israel's war with Iran. Carlson, along with several other MAGA allies, have been unusually at odds with the president. In a recent spat, Carlson sparred with Texas Senator Ted Cruz, deriding the politician over his ignorance of the country he supported invading in a viral interview.
