— Manchester City (@ManCity) July 15, 2025
'Not only does he bring his immensely precious experience at football's elite level, but he also has a deep connection with Manchester City and a deep knowledge of the club.
'We've also been hugely impressed with his work and success with our Under-18s, and by adding him into our senior staff permanently, this will only strengthen the transition for players in our academy into the first team.
'As we already saw throughout his time with Pep Guardiola, Pep Lijnders and James French this summer, his massive personality of optimism and positivity is hugely infectious and we're already looking forward to his work moving forward.'
Former Ivory Coast international Toure, who won the Premier League with both City and previous club Arsenal, worked under lead coach Oliver Reiss last season as they guided the club's Under-18s to the Premier League North title and saw their side lose both the national final and the FA Youth Cup final to Aston Villa.
He had previously coached with the Ivory Coast national squad and was part of Brendan Rodgers' staff at Celtic and Leicester before a brief spell in charge in his own right at League One Wigan.

We haven't had too much of pre-season but I've been training hard," Milner told the Seagulls' media team from the club's training camp in Spain."Nine months is a long time out so that takes time but I've been working hard over the summer and come back in the best possible shape I can."After all the things that happened in the last year or so, I'm feeling good to be fair."The early part of the rehab was to just get the knee moving again so I could do my knee rehab. We tried everything in the gym and hyperbaric chambers, hot coals, all different types of therapies. "Sean Duggan the physio was incredible. It's not a common injury. At that time it was a difficult ask to come back and play but through the physio department and Sean's hard work - it was a long journey and a difficult one but the challenge of coming back from it at my age was what drove me on."Get news notifications on your clubMilner is now preparing for his 24th Premier League season and is 16 appearances away from breaking Gareth Barry's all-time record. The three-time Premier League winner never thought about giving up despite his lengthy spell on the sidelines."I wouldn't say there was dark times but there was frustrating times," he added."There was times where I'd get to five or six weeks constantly then needed a break for two or three days, just a change of scenery to regain the focus and the intensity."I wouldn't say I got too down about it. Man United make move for £40m Brighton star who IS allowed to leave the club - but AC Milan are also jostling for his signature
Manchester United and AC Milan are both interested in Pervis Estupinan and Brighton are prepared to listen to offers for their Ecuadorian left back. Estupinan has given four years of excellent service at the Amex Stadium since his arrival for £20million from Villarreal. At 27, Brighton will not stand in his way if he wants to leave for another challenge and bids close to £40m would tempt them. Manchester United spent £25m on 20-year-old Patrick Dorgu, a Denmark international, from Lecce in January to operate at left wing back. They are also keen on Estupinan, who has much more experience and is proven in the Premier League as a solid full back with attacking threat. Milan have prioritised signing a new left back since losing France international Theo Hernandez to Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia. However, they are unlikely to have the spending power to compete with United or get close to Brighton's valuation. The Italians were outbid by Fenerbahce for Birmingham-born Archie Brown, who has moved to Turkey from Gent in Belgium for a reported fee of £7m.

Bryan Mbeumo offered chance to land dream Man Utd shirt number after £70m bid
Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Bryan Mbeumo after offering Brentford £70m for their star man, which should be enough to get the deal over the line Bryan Mbeumo could be handed his dream shirt number of 19 if he can wrap up a move to Manchester United, with the digits currently available at Old Trafford. United are still locked in talks with Brentford but negotiations have dragged on for more than a month as the Bees look to get as much as possible for the Cameroon international, who cost them just £5.8million in 2019. There has been frustration over the low progress of discussions between the two clubs, but now United have submitted a third bid of £70m - hoping it can tempt Brentford into selling their star man. Mbeumo is keen on completing the move to Old Trafford and should the move come to fruition, it seems there will be an added incentive for the 25-year-old. He has always played in the No 19 shirt during his footballing career, having used the number for both Brentford and Cameroon on international duty. And if he joined United, he would be able to snap up that shirt number immediately because it is currently vacant. The last player who wore number 19 for United was defender Raphael Varane, who left the club last summer, joining Serie A side Como. It comes after United had two bids rejected for Mbeumo, the last one being worth around £62.5m - the same amount they paid to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolves. The Bees have been adamant that United should pay them more than they did for Cunha because Mbeumo outscored the Brazilian last season and is also the younger player. But a deal is now likely to be agreed after United paid Brentford's asking price for the player - who has already thrashed out personal terms. He has also told Brentford he doesn't want to join any other club despite links to Tottenham, who were interested in the forward after recruiting his former Bees boss Thomas Frank. Mbeumo netted an impressive 20 goals in the Premier League for Brentford last season and is one of the most sought-after players in the top flight. He has scored a total of 70 goals in 242 appearances for the team since 2019, having started off in the Championship.
