Cabinet member Scott Bessent took a shot at the Tesla CEO and former White House advisor after he revealed he was forming his own political party over the weekend. Speaking about Musk's time behind the federal budget slashing initiative known as the Department of Government Efficiency during Sunday's episode of CNN's 'State of the Union,' he said, 'The principles of DOGE were very popular. I think if you looked at the polling, Elon was not.' Bessent, who reportedly clashed with Musk during his time in the White House, then told the world's richest man he'd be better off concentrating on his businesses, which reportedly took a slump during his time in politics.
