Meghan Markle's ex-BFF Jessica Mulroney 'splits from her husband after 16 years of marriage'
The Canadian stylist - who was once known to be a close friend of Meghan Markle - has parted ways with her husband Ben, according to sources in PageSix.
The couple share three children and were said to have separated 'some time ago', according to the news outlet.
On Instagram, Jessica, 45, has been pictured without her wedding ring in recent weeks and is said to have broken the news to friends while attending a wedding last month - notably without her husband, 49.
A source told PageSix: 'They're split. Jessica seemed sad, but also relieved to have some clarity.'
Another insider added that they split 'some time ago'.
The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Jessica for comment.
Jessica last posted her husband in March in a gushing birthday tribute, writing: 'Happy belated Birthday Benny! Hope all your wishes come true as well as Bruce Wayne's dream to try my cheesecake. Xx.'
As for Ben, he still describes himself as a 'husband' in his profile on Instagram, which reads: 'Husband, father, eater of cereal.' In addition, on Jessica's Facebook profile, it still reads as 'married to Ben Mulroney'.
Ben is the eldest son of Brian Mulroney, the former Prime Minister of Canada.
In November last year, in one of their final posts together, Jessica admitted they had 'forgotten' their anniversary.
Posting a slew of loved-up snaps, she wrote: 'Ok so our wedding anniversary was a slight oversight this year ( ie… we forgot). But the love all year round makes up for it. Which reminds me, how many years has it been? I feel lucky everyday so what's a number?'
But it appears she won't have one of the closest members of her inner circle as a shoulder to cry on, as her friendship with the Duchess of Sussex appears to have cooled off in recent years.
Meghan - who herself has been curating a social media presence since January, with a whopping 3.9 million followers on Instagram, a Netflix lifestyle series and a new Montecito-aesthetics-inspired brand - hasn't been seen in public with Jessica in five years.
The stylist hasn't featured in any of her TV shows or podcasts and they do not follow each other on social media.
It's a far cry from the heyday of their friendship - as Jessica was once on FaceTime to her best friend as Prince Harry popped the question and stole the show on the big day as she posed on the steps of St George's Chapel alongside Kate Middleton.
The rift in the friendship can be traced back to 2020 when Jessica was involved in a 'white privilege' row with influencer Sasha Exeter.
She was swiftly dropped from her styling slot on Good Morning America - and apparently by Meghan too in the wake of the controversy.
Despite their close relationship, insiders claimed that the Duchess had permanently cut ties with Jessica in 2020, after she became embroiled in a 'feud' with influencer Sasha Exeter.
The clash, which occurred in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement and the death of George Floyd, saw Jessica 'take offence' to a 'generic call to action' post Sasha had shared about the movement.
According to Sasha, she and Jessica then argued about the importance of 'speaking up'.
Sasha said she felt Jessica 'threatened' her during the argument, claiming the mother-of-three had written to her: 'I have also spoken to companies and people about the way you have treated me unfairly. You think your voice matters. Well it only matters if you express it with kindness and without shaming people who are simply trying to learn. Good luck.'
In a follow-up video, Sasha, also from Toronto, said: 'What happened next was a series of very problematic behaviour and antics.
'I'm by no means calling Jess a racist but what I will say is this: She is very well aware of her wealth, perceived power and privilege because of the colour of her skin and that, my friends, gave her the momentary confidence to come for my livelihood in writing. Textbook white privilege really, in my personal opinion.'
In a comment posted on the video clip, Jessica said she was 'unequivocally sorry', writing: 'As I told you privately, I have lived a very public and personal experience with my closest friend where race was front and centre. It was deeply educational.'
Shortly after posting the clip about Jessica, Sasha claimed she had been targeted by trolls who were sending her death threats.
Sharing an video to her Instagram stories in her dressing gown, Sasha said: 'I've been up since 4am responding to trolls.
'I was totally prepared to be bullied and I knew I was opening myself up to being criticized by people who don't really understand why I did what I did, but let me make clear that any threats to my personal safety will not be tolerated.'
Jessica issued further public apologies but was dropped by a number of television networks, including Good Morning America.
Following the backlash, sources claimed that Meghan had permanently cut ties with her former BFF.
It may have been the final straw for the Duchess, as an insider told Page Six that the duo's relationship was already on the rocks because Meghan felt Jessica was trying to 'make a career out of the friendship'.
'The white privilege row has really given Meghan the excuse she was waiting for to cut Jess off for good,' the source said. 'I don't know what the tipping point was, but Jess has been on the outs for some time.'
Canadian TV network CTV also cut off ties with the stylist, revealing that it would be pulling all episodes of her wedding-themed reality TV show I Do Redo from its platform.
Jessica also also stepped down from the board of directors of The Shoebox Project, the charity she co-founded a decade ago to 'provide gifts to women living in shelters or accessing community support,' according to public records.
'In light of recent events, the charity supports Jessica's decision to step away from the Board of Directors,' read a statement from the organization at the time.
Jessica took a two-month break from social media - but six months after the scandal, she shared what were understood to be DMs and text messages between herself and Sasha that the National Post's columnist Barbara Kay called 'a complete exoneration of Jessica from all the false allegations of racist bullying.'
Kay concluded that Jessica 'is innocent of the moral crimes she has been so unjustly charged with'.
In September 2020, Jessica addressed the rumours of rift between her and the Duchess.
She wrote on her Instagram Stories: 'I'm going to tell this once and for all. Meghan and I are family.
'She is the kindest friend and has checked up on me everyday.'
Six months later, Jessica shared a photo of the flowers she received from Meghan on her 41st birthday, on which she wrote: 'LUCKIEST FRIEND XXXX, THX MM.'
The following year however, it became increasingly evident that their friendship had soured.
In June 2021, the mother-of-three posted a cryptic quote on her Instagram Story, which read: 'Life changes. You lose love. You lose friends. You lose pieces of yourself that you never imagined would be gone.
Two months later, she told her followers: 'It can be lonely having the world, friends distance from you and not even ask how you are. But, thankfully, you find the things that truly matter…'
The following year, Jessica posted a picture of a sign reading: 'You are not too sensitive. You are not overreacting. If it hurts you it hurts you.'
She captioned the post: 'I wish I had a seen this a long time ago. I hope it makes a difference in your day too.'
Since, Meghan seems to have kept a distance from her former pal - with no mention of her in Harry's book Spare or the couple's 2022 Netflix documentary. Jessica was also not invited to take part in the Duchess's most recent project - With Love, Meghan.
Before she married Prince Harry, Meghan would often gush about Jessica online - with the pair often going on holidays together.
In December 2015, the Duchess said that 'the room stops' whenever her friend 'shows up at an event'.
Referencing the 1980s US sitcom Out of This World, Meghan compared Jessica to the show's heroine Evie (played by Maureen Flannigan) - who has the ability to freeze time.
Gushing about the effect Jessica has on people, Meghan described her as 'savvy and fashionable and tres cool, and also va va va voom pritaaaay'.
She continued: 'And here's the other thing - she also happens to be an incredible stylist, clothing the likes of Canada's First Lady, Sophie Trudeau.'
In her 2022 Netflix documentary, Meghan shared footage of the night Prince Harry proposed in 2017 - where she FaceTimed her friend 'Jess' as she walked the grounds of Kensington Palace.
The following year, Meghan then asked Jessica's three children John, Brian and Isabel to be in her wedding party - while the stylist was given a starring role as she entered St George's Chapel alongside the Princess of Wales.

Smitten Justin Trudeau spotted in crowd at Katy Perry's concert with his daughter after viral date
In a move certain to get people talking, Justin Trudeau has now been spotted attending Katy Perry 's concert just days after their unlikely date. Various posts circulating on social media show Justin watching Katy's July 30 show in Montreal with his daughter Ella-Grace, 16, by his side. The former Canadian Prime Minister, 53, looked absolutely captivated (and even smitten) as he watched Perry belt out her hits on stage. Daily Mail has contacted Trudeau and representatives for Perry, 40, for comment but did not immediately hear back. Video also shows Trudeau looking completely enamored watching Perry perform on stage, even mouthing along several of the words to her song Dark Horse. As Perry demonstrated her athleticism with an impressive pose on stage, Trudeau, meanwhile, appeared completely mesmerized by the display. Justin Trudeau spotted at Katy Perry's Lifetimes Tour. — Pop Crave (@PopCrave) July 31, 2025 Fans weighed in on the possible new romance, with one joking in the comments section of Pop Crave's post about the sighting: 'Bro must be DOWN BAD if he's willing to go to lifetimes concert.' 'Imagine getting good seats at a concert and you see a former head of state just hanging out to support his new girlfriend,' another posted. One fan expressed themselves with a GIF of a gleeful Wendy Williams sipping from her tea. 'Wait is she gonna be the president of Canada now,' another asked, despite Justin no longer being Prime Minister of the country. 'This is genuinely the happiest he's been in a while,' another noted along with video of someone laughing. It comes just days after the singer, who is newly single after splitting from Orlando Bloom, and Justin, 53, were filmed dining together in Montreal at the city's Le Violon restaurant on Monday, setting social media ablaze. In a video obtained by the Daily Mail, the pair leaned over a table toward one another as they intimately chatted. Body language expert Judi James exclusively deciphered the pair's interaction for the Daily Mail and revealed, 'there are at least three non-verbal cues that we tend to associate with flirting on a date. JUSTIN TRUDEAU IS HERE OMG — teagan 🦋 today!! (@KatycatTeagan) July 31, 2025 justin trudeau looking at katy perry like that😭 — kanishk (@kaxishk) July 31, 2025 'First is the proximity trait: Not only are these two hidden away in what looks like an intimate table on their own, they also lean their heads in together to create further closeness here. 'On a date this is done to achieve and display undivided attention and interest and to allow the voices to drop to a softer, deeper, sexier tone. 'Then, there is Katy's trait of facial 'framing': In one pic she seems to place a hand up to her ear which can highlight the face in a 'look at me, I'm beautiful' way. 'But in another she has her hands cupping her face, creating a directional frame for her legendary beauty.' James added that Perry gave Trudeau 'non-physical 'stroking'' or flattery to make him feel interesting via 'nods of encouragement'. 'Smiling and nodding as someone speaks like this will suggest avid attention and agreement, leading to agreeableness,' James said. It has been a tough few months for the unlikely duo - with Perry weathering her tough split from former fiancé Bloom and a flop album titled 143. Perry shares one daughter, Daisy, 4, with Bloom, 48. The exes began dating in 2016 and got engaged on Valentine's Day 2019. Split speculation swirled for months before the pair finally confirmed the end of their romance last month. Perry - who is currently on her Lifetimes Tour - was previously married to Russell Brand from 2010 until their divorce in 2012. Trudeau shares three children with ex wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, from whom he announced a split in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. In addition to Ella-Grace, they have sons Xavier, 17, and Hadrien, 11. Sophie was a childhood friend and classmate of Trudeau's older brother Michel, who died in an avalanche in 1998 at 23 years old. Trudeau began dating his ex wife in 2003 after reconnecting as adults and were engaged a short time afterwards. Trudeau dramatically resigned as Canadian Prime Minister in January capping a spectacular fall from grace for the liberal standard-bearer just days before entered office.

Chiefs star Chris Jones makes emotional confession about his love life after messy split from ex-girlfriend
Chris Jones is on the hunt for love. That's if his recent confession about his love life is anything to go by. The Kansas City Chiefs star split from his girlfriend of nearly a decade earlier this year as she accused him of 'infidelity'. However, it appears Jones is now ready to settle down as he shared a shocking admission about his love life. During Chiefs training camp, the players were asked what was one thing on their bucket list that they haven't completed yet, and Jones's answer raised eyebrows. 'I just wanna be loved. I just wanna be married,' Jones said in a TikTok clip shared by the Chiefs' official account. His confession comes just four months after his former girlfriend accused him of cheating amid a seemingly messy split. Sheawna Weathersby, who has been pictured alongside Taylor Swift at several Kansas City games in recent seasons, was in a relationship with the three-time Super Bowl-winning defensive tackle for nine years before parting 'months ago,' she said in March. Earlier this weeks, fans began to speculate that Jones and Weathersby had split after he shared a loved-up photo with another mystery woman - only identified as Giselle - on his Instagram story before quickly deleting it. Giselle also posted a snap of her and Chris enjoying what looked like a romantic meal before removing the post. The pair both appear to have since deactivated their Instagram accounts. And amid confusion over the state of their relationship, Sheawna has confirmed she and the NFL player - who share two children in Christopher Jones II, six, and Carson Dakota, two - are no longer together after accusing him of cheating in an astonishing statement. She wrote on her Instagram story: 'I'm choosing to focus on the positive as I close this chapter on a 9-year relationship. Unfortunately, Chris' infidelity with the woman he's recently been pictured with, led to my decision to end our relationship months ago. Jones' ex went on to allege that the girl in question has a history of 'harassment, stalking and disrespect' towards her, even claiming she was forced to change her phone number as a result. 'I'm proud to say I chose to prioritize my own wellbeing and healing journey,' she added. 'As I embark on this new chapter, I'm excited for the opportunities and growth that await me. I trust that God will transform the pain into something beautiful.' Back in January, Jones suggested he and Weathersby were no longer together when he shared a meme on X that read: 'I'm like 106% single'. Jones and a mystery woman shared these loved-up photos in March before deleting them When a fan replied telling him he is not single, the 30-year-old bluntly replied: 'I am'. He also shared a cryptic meme on the social-media platform in March, which read: 'It's okay to disappear to find yourself again.' Jones wrote as the caption: 'Sincerely,' along with a snake emoji. Chris and Sheawna had formed a close relationship with his Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce and Swift, who has dated the latter for close to two years, before splitting in recent months. Travis and Taylor even sent the couple some surprise Christmas gifts at the end of last year. Sheawna took to Instagram to gush over multiple wrapped gifts under her Christmas tree along with a card that read 'Merry Christmas from Travis and Taylor.' They appeared to send Kelce's teammate and his partner a Santa gift bag and a rose-print wrapped box, as well as a rare Louis Vuitton 200 bottle of champagne bottled in Anchay, France. 'So blessed & grateful this holiday season,' Sheawna wrote as the caption. 'Thank youuuu, Tay Tay!!!' Sheawna has formed a close-knit friendship with Taylor, who has appeared on her Instagram account multiple times - including on November 29 when the Chiefs faced the Las Vegas Raiders and on October 8 during a match against the Minnesota Vikings.

Watch: Martha Stewart reveals what she thinks of Meghan's lifestyle brand
Martha Stewart has revealed what she thinks of the Duchess of Sussex's lifestyle brand, saying: 'I hope she knows what she's talking about'. Stewart, the lifestyle guru and self-made billionaire, said it was important to be 'knowledgeable about your subject matter' in what appeared to be a veiled swipe the Duchess. The Duchess has recently launched a range of lifestyle products including fruit spreads, edible flowers, honey, crepe mix and wine under her As Ever wellness brand. She has also released a lifestyle programme on Netflix titled With Love, Meghan, which will air its second series in the autumn. In an interview on Thursday, the 83-year-old was asked for her thoughts on Gwyneth Paltrow, the Duchess, and their respective wellness brands. Stewart was full of praise for Paltrow, calling her 'fantastic' and 'very successful' also noting her accolades in the acting world. But, she was less enthusiastic when it came to the Duchess. 'What's it like to watch other celebrities – Gwyneth Paltrow, Meghan Markle – going in your footsteps and following something you really started?' she was asked by Yahoo Lifestyle. Stewart answered: 'I don't mind... good luck. Gwyneth's been very successful, by the way.' She continued: 'I think she's created quite an interesting body of businesses, she's admired, she's fantastic – she won an Oscar, for heaven's sake, as an actress. She's pretty powerful.' Paltrow's Goop brand, which sells an assortment of wellness, beauty, and fashion items including a vagina scented candle and jade kegel eggs, was valued at $250m (£189m) in 2018. 'Meghan I don't really know very well,' Stewart continued. 'I hope she knows what she's talking about. Authenticity to me is everything, and to be authentic and knowledgeable about your subject matter is extremely important.' In April, Stewart admitted she had not watched the Duchess's lifestyle series, which was widely criticised by reviewers and failed to crack Netflix's top 300 most-watched titles in the first six months of the year, according to reports. 'I haven't seen it yet, but I'll watch an episode and see how she does. I'm curious,' she said. Ted Sarandos, the co-chief executive officer of Netflix, has insisted the Duchess had been 'overly dismissed' and 'underestimated in terms of her influence on culture'. Stewart said last year she was 'flattered' when told by an interviewer that the Duchess 'wants to become a brand like Martha Stewart'. The 83-year-old became a household name after her personal lifestyle brand made her the world's first female self-made billionaire. Despite her controversial past, Stewart's staying power remains today with her range of cookbooks, magazine, and television appearances, including an unlikely friendship with the rapper Snoop Dogg. 'Produce good products that work and will help the homemaker have a nicer life,' Stewart advised. 'That's what it's all about.' Products from Meghan's As Ever range, including a $28 (£21) jar of wildflower honey and $15 (£11) flower sprinkles, sold out within 30 minutes of being released in April. A source told The Telegraph at the time that the items would be available only in small quantities and quickly marked as sold out to generate interest. The products were described as 'a glimpse' into Meghan's approach to 'elevated, everyday living and is inspired by her long-lasting love of cooking, entertaining and hostessing with ease'. More products are expected to be released seasonally.
