Touch of Frost and The Crown star David Killick dies aged 87 after short illness
Actor David Killick known for his roles in The Crown and A Touch of Frost has passed away at the age of 87.
His death was confirmed by his agent, who shared a heartfelt statement paying tribute to his 60 year acting career.
It read: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved friend and client, David Killick. He died peacefully on Friday, 4th July, at St John's Hospice in North London after a short illness.
"David's acting career spanned more than 60 years. He deeply loved his craft and cherished the camaraderie of his fellow actors. In return, he was admired and respected by all who had the pleasure of working with him.
"He will be greatly missed."
Killick was born in 1938 in Edmonton, Middlesex, and enjoyed a long career in the acting profession spanning across six decades, reports the Mirror. Among his biggest roles included starring in season five of The Crown as Mess President and in A Touch of Frost as a pathologist alongside David Jason.
He also starred in a number of stage productions, from A Room With A View and The Importance of Being Ernest to The Crucible. He was also credited on Doctor Who: The Lost Stories, The Judgement of Sherlock Holmes, Macbeth and Poptropica -On the Farm for his voice acting.
His first screen credit dates back to 1977's A Bridge Too Far as a soldier, before going on to star in 1979's Minder, The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady in 1984 and 1985's Terry and June.

Killick's profile on his agent Stanton Davidson Associates hailed his work in the industry and branded him a "delightful, talented and vastly experienced actor" and added that he "loves the work - so please keep him at it!"
It reads: "Really did enjoy the hard work of weekly Rep! Yes, and that was after helping Caryl Jenner set up the first permanent children's theatre company 'The Unicorn' at the Arts Theatre, Leicester Square. Other highlights - Newcastle, Hadrian V11 and my one and only Dame in Panto, Edinburgh, George in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Leeds, Basilio in Life's a Dream (Matthew Warchus) and masses more.

The retail giant is currently selling the lilac wavy mirror for just £9.99. 2 2 While it's advertised as being part of the "kids edit", shoppers have insisted they don't just want it for their child's room. And it seems like people are in full agreement as they've been running to get their hands on it. Wayne Dobson, the legendary magician who shot to fame in the 1980s, has died at the age of 68, his brother has confirmed. Magician Wayne Dobson, renowned for his razor-sharp wit and spectacular illusions, has passed away at the age of 68. His sibling broke the devastating news today, bringing to a close an extraordinary career that kicked off when Dobson became a member of the Leicester Magic Circle aged just 16 - making him the youngest person ever to achieve this feat. This early achievement signalled the start of a lifelong profession that would mesmerise audiences throughout the UK and further afield. Wayne's brother Phil Dobson shared the tragic announcement in an emotional statement. Phil penned: "It's with a broken heart that I share the news that my brother Wayne Dobson sadly passed away today. He was my best friend and I miss him already. RIP legend." His major breakthrough arrived after triumphing in the close-up competition at the International Brotherhood of Magicians British Ring Convention. This victory unlocked numerous opportunities, including a spot on the beloved children's show Blue Peter, which showcased his abilities to a wider viewership. In a recent Instagram update, she disclosed that despite her tragic circumstances, episodes of her podcast Mum's The Word, which were recorded while she was pregnant, will be released. Kelsey, aged 34, shared: "Before I gave birth to Phoenix, I had recorded a lot of podcasts for my @mumstheword_pod before going off on maternity leave. "I want to thank the lovely team for checking in and being patient to put some episodes out that were during my pregnancy." She continued: "Over the next couple of months these episodes will air. They were part of my journey so I didn't want to not share them, and they all have incredible guests with really important stories and messages. Please take the time to listen to these episodes and remember to be kind when doing so." The podcast, co-hosted by Kelsey and Georgia Jones, delves into the realities of parenting, featuring frank discussions with well-known personalities and specialists. On June 22, Kelsey delivered the sombre news that her third child was stillborn, revealing it was a boy named Phoenix. The 34 year old podcast presenter, who was expecting her third child with partner Will Lindsay, conveyed the sorrowful announcement on her Instagram, reports the Mirror. In a touching homage to her son, Kelsey posted a simple yet profound caption: "Phoenix Parker-Lindsay, you will forever be loved", accompanied by an emotive poem titled For Phoenix, Born Sleeping, Forever Loved. The poem shared: "The world grew quiet as you arrived, So loved, so longed for, yet not alive. Our precious boy, our angel light, Born with wings, took silent flight. "We named you Phoenix, brave and bright. A soul of love, of warmth and light Though we never heard you cry, You'll live in hearts that won;t ask why. Only days before her poignant revelation, Kelsey had joyfully displayed her baby bump at the Elio UK Gala screening at Vue Cinema in London's Leicester Square, accompanied by her children on Sunday 17th June. Kelsey is the mother of Aurelia, five, and Bodhi, four, whom she shares with The Wanted's Tom Parker. Tom sadly passed away from brain cancer in 2022 at the age of 33, leaving behind his family four years into their marriage. She had shared with the Mirror in January her delight at expecting a third child at the family home in South East London, which she now shares with tree surgeon Will after finding romance again last September. Admitting that the baby, which would have been Will's first child, was a "happy accident", Kelsey revealed she was carefully preparing Aurelia and Bodhi for their new sibling, whilst also breaking the wonderful news to Tom's relatives. Tom's mum Noreen, she explained at the time, had instantly offered her support. "All I care about is that both our families and Tom's family are happy. Noreen is the most amazing lady. After Tom passed, she said to me, as long as you're happy Kels, whatever you do, we will always support you and be happy for you.' We've all been through so much together. But I'm here and bringing another baby into the world." Discussing their shared commitment to preserving Tom's memory for the children, Will also spoke during the January interview. "I'm over the moon. This is something I've wanted for a long time. I couldn't be happier and I know Kelsey is going to be an amazing mum, as she already is." Addressing her experience of discovering new love whilst cherishing Tom's memory, Kelsey was equally honest about navigating grief and embracing single motherhood at such a young age. "If I dwelled on everything that's happened, I wouldn't be here," she shared with the Mirror, her words heavy with emotion. "Tom was my soulmate. I'm still angry he's gone. But I can't live in sadness. Tom wouldn't want that."
