
19-year-old charged with manslaughter after Sask. man died in Brittania
On April 3, around 5 p.m., Maidstone RCMP responded to the report of an injured man in a home in the community, police found the victim suffering from serious injuries, Saskatchewan RCMP said in a release Friday.
Police say the victim then was taken to hospital where he later died. His family has been notified.
On May 26, Trey Berland from Onion Lake Cree Nation was charged with one count of manslaughter.
His next court appearance is scheduled for June 23 in Lloydminster provincial court.
According to RCMP, the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) is also investigating the incident, as Maidstone RCMP had received a request to conduct a wellness check on the victim earlier that day.

Police investigating home invasion in Cambridge

The Waterloo Regional Police Service was called to the Duke Street and Church Street North area on Monday around 11 p.m. When they arrived, officers learned a home invasion had taken place. They said two unknown masked males entered the home, attacked a male victim with a weapon and then took off in a vehicle. Investigators believe it was a targeted incident.
