Peaks honoured as memorable cup heroics recognised at awards
In front of a global TV audience, Tamworth held Ange Postecoglou's cast and crew of seasoned internationals scoreless for 90 minutes before falling to defeat in extra-time, capturing the hearts of the nation along the way.
Peaks reflected: 'It was a really good day. I was looking forward to it and I wasn't sure what team they would select, whether it would be a mix and match but when we realised that their players were all internationals coming off the bus, it was unbelievable.
'We did well to get there and beat some big clubs like Macclesfield, Huddersfield and Burton so for me it was a case of enjoying it. I was so proud of everyone to get that far and I said to the team 'don't let it pass you by, just enjoy it and remember this occasion forever'.
'We matched Spurs for long periods and we were disappointed to lose but proud of what we achieved. It was an unbelievable atmosphere and brilliant for the town and non-league football.'
The National Game Awards is a celebration of the non-League season - highlighting the community, fans, on-field, and off-field successes of the game outside of the Football League.
The ceremony is held annually by the Non-League Paper, the UK's number one selling football title and the best place for your non-league news, with this year's edition hosted at Plough Lane – home of AFC Wimbledon.
And Peake revealed just how much recognition from the bespoke ceremony meant to him after receiving the call that his side were to be honoured for all they had achieved.
Peake added: 'It was really nice to be invited. I was really pleased when they rang me last week and it has been a fantastic occasion at a really nice venue and I really enjoyed it.
'There were some great people here and it's testament to the Non-League Paper and what they do.'

Crystal Palace boss reveals transfer concern amid Eberechi Eze speculation
Oliver Glasner is hopeful Eberechi Eze will not leave Crystal Palace for Arsenal this summer, as he took aim at the club's lack of transfer activity. This summer is a very important transfer window for Palace as they look to build upon their FA Cup triumph and record Premier League points tally. So far however, it has been a little underwhelming with back-up goalkeeper Walter Benitez (free) and left-back Borna Sosa (£3million) the only arrivals. Moreover, head coach Glasner faces the prospect of losing several key players before deadline day, most notably England duo Eze and Marc Guehi. Eze is of great interest to Arsenal and, if reports are to believed, would be keen on moving to the club that released him as a 13-year-old. It is said the Gunners don't want to pay his full release clause worth £68m but have not ruled out a move for the attacking midfielder who recorded 25 goal contributions last season. Centre-back and captain Guehi has entered the last year of his contract and is being tracked by Liverpool and Tottenham. Following the FA Cup victory in May, Glasner said he was given assurances by Palace's hierarchy that they would get their transfer business done early but that has not materialised. Palace are currently on a pre-season tour of Austria, where they played Mainz on Tuesday. Speaking to local newspaper Kronen Zeitung, the head coach has now vented his frustration: 'Even though all the players are still here, we haven't made the most of the transfer window so far. 'I was promised that we would be more active and bring in the new players earlier this year. 'As of now, I have 17 outfield players. I hope we don't lose any more. If that happens and we get four new ones on deadline day like last year, another false start is possible.' While last season ended brilliantly for the Eagles, it started terribly with the south London club winless in their opening eight league games and winning just one of their first 13 before their form turned around. In addition to Eze and Guehi, there has also been much interest in striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defensive midfielder Adam Wharton, though the latter wishes to stay at Selhurst Park this coming season. More Trending Palace's transfer activity has been compromised somewhat as they still do not know what European competition they will playing in in 2025/26. The FA Cup victory qualified them for the Europa League but UEFA have controversially demoted them to the Conference League for a breach of Multi-Club Ownership rules. Palace are challenging the demotion at the Court of Arbitration for Sport but may not learn their fate until August 11, just days before the new Premier League campaign begins. Whatever happens, the Eagles will kick-off the new season against Liverpool in the Community Shield on August 10, before taking on Chelsea in their opening league game on August 17. How Hamilton Accies' squad looks after transfer embargo
The League One side have less than 20 players to choose from ahead of Saturday's League One opener against Montrose Hamilton Accies' transfer embargo has left the club with just 19 first team players to choose from this season. The League One club were hit by a season-long transfer ban last week for failing to notify the SPFL they had been in default of their tax obligations to HMRC on three occasions and are only allowed to bring in under-19 players or amateurs as part of the sanction imposed. But it is understood the club will not be making any moves to strengthen their squad with youngsters ahead of the big kick-off this weekend at home to Montrose, nor for the foreseeable future. While Accies are still able to field a number of key men from last term, goalkeeper Dean Lyness and Dylan McGowan, who are both contracted until May 2026, will not be able to feature. A Hampden source has told Lanarkshire Live Sport that Hamilton allowed their deals to expire before launching their recent contract extensions with the SFA, meaning they come under 'new registrations' caught by the embargo. Last season's loanees Ricki Lamie and Charlie Telfer - who were offered permanent deals after both being released by Ross County - also can't play. Midfielder Ben Williamson - who was badly injured in a car accident in December - is also not included in this season's squad. Hamilton can promote youngsters from their youth squads but the current pool for the League One campaign - which includes three 16-year-old midfielders in Kayden Aitken, Josh Carson and Aaron Eadie - will be as follows: Goalkeepers: Michael Marks; Jamie Smith Defenders: Tony Gallacher; Stephen Hendrie; Lee Kilday; Kyle MacDonald; Cian Newbury; Fergus Owens. Accies face Montrose on Saturday in the League One opener and a fan protest is being planned by the Accies Supporters Association outside Broadwood ahead of the clash.
