Mayor of Kingstown Season 4: Release date rumors, cast updates and what to expect next
Mayor of Kingstown fans, buckle up. The gritty prison-town drama is coming back for a fourth season—and things are looking messier than ever. Jeremy Renner is returning as Mike McLusky, the reluctant fixer caught in the middle of Kingstown's tangled web of gangs, cops, and corruption. After a brutal Season 3 finale, there's a lot to unpack about what's next. Here's what's known so far, from when we might see new episodes to who's coming back—and who isn't. Release Date Rumors: When Will Season 4 Hit Screens?
There's no official release date yet, but the pieces are falling into place. Renner confirmed back in January 2025 that filming was already underway, and production wrapped up in Pittsburgh by May. That puts the show right on track with its usual schedule.
Season 3 came out in June 2024, which was about 15 months after Season 2 ended. If Season 4 follows that same rhythm, we're probably looking at a fall 2025 release. In fact, Paramount has hinted at an October launch, slotted in between Tulsa King and Landman on its fall slate. If that holds, fans can expect a trailer sometime in September. Cast Updates: Who's Returning and Who's New?
Jeremy Renner is firmly back as Mike, which is especially meaningful after everything he's been through following his 2023 snowplow accident. His return is not just about continuing the story—it's personal for a lot of fans who've followed his recovery.
As for the rest of the core cast, several key players are expected to return, including: Hugh Dillon as Ian, whose reckless actions are finally catching up to him.
Taylor Handley as Kyle, now in jail after that Season 3 cliffhanger.
Tobi Bamtefa as Bunny, who's taken control of the streets but might not hold them for long.
Hamish Allan-Headley as Robert, caught in the crosshairs of an internal probe.
Necar Zadegan as Evelyn Foley, whose investigation into police corruption could shake the whole town.
That said, Season 3 didn't pull punches—major characters like Iris (Emma Laird), Kareem (Michael Beach), and Milo (Aidan Gillen) didn't make it out alive. So expect some fresh blood in Season 4, including some big-name talent: Edie Falco joins as Nina Hobbs, the new no-nonsense warden at Anchor Bay.
Lennie James plays Frank Moses, a veteran gangster ready to claim his piece of Kingstown.
Laura Benanti comes in as Cindy Stephens, a new corrections officer.
Clayton Cardenas is Deputy Warden Torres, working under Hobbs' command.
These new faces will likely rattle the already shaky balance between the prison and the streets. What to Expect Next: Plot Predictions and Themes
Season 3 left the power structure of Kingstown in chaos. With Milo dead and the Russian mafia out, Bunny's crew—backed by the police—has taken over. But co-creator Hugh Dillon has warned that 'a vacuum' is never safe for long. Gangs don't stay dormant, and new enemies are bound to show up.
Mike's in a tight spot. His brother Kyle is behind bars. Ian's being investigated. Robert's under fire. And Evelyn—the one person he might trust—is now digging into everything he's connected to. Their secret affair? That's likely going to get a lot more complicated.
Meanwhile, Bunny's rise might start to threaten Mike's influence. And with the Aryan Brotherhood still out there, payback could be around the corner. There's also emotional fallout still lingering—Mike is still dealing with Iris' death and the weight of everything he's had to do to hold this town together.
Dillon teased that Season 4 is going to be 'rock 'n' roll'—louder, faster, and even more relentless than before. Expect the themes of guilt, loyalty, power, and survival to hit even harder this time around.

How a hilarious Mike Francesa call united 2 Giants teams for a perfect sketch
Do the San Francisco Giants and New York Giants ever say hi or go out to dinner or something? Are there ever any interactions? Do they reach out? That is something that Mike Francesca was asked by Dan from Warwick on WFAN's The Mike Francesca Show in March 2015. The caller wanted to know if the MLB team and the NFL team ever hung out, which was something that completely befuddled Francesca. It was hard for Francesca to understand the connection between the two franchises that share a name, except that the San Francisco Giants also used to play in New York before moving to the West Coast. Here is how Francesca responded over a decade ago: "They have nothing to do with each other. There is no connection. They have different ownership. There is no connection between the two teams. There is no connection in any way between the two teams. They have no relationship. Do you think because they're Giants they're like brothers or something? That might be the weirdest question I've got in a long time." As he thought about it, though, he accidentally created a beautiful image for his listeners. Here is how he continued his response: "Yes, as a matter of fact, they have the Giant picnic. They hold it over in Totowa [New Jersey] I think it is. And then they have the Giant relay race and the Giant raffle and then they all get together for the Giant breakfast the next morning and then they got their separate ways. That is true. It is a July weekend every year when it happens. The Rangers in Texas and the New York Rangers have the same thing. They meet usually in Abilene. They have that in August every year. [Henrik] Lundqvist is particularly close to Yu Darvish, as a matter of fact. There is a kinship there between the two of them." Not long after, fans saw cartoon version of the call in a Mike-i-Mation. Now, 10 years later, we finally got an answer to the question thanks to some help from The Eli Manning Show. For a comedy sketch, we saw Francesca walking through a hallway and into a room where a uniformed Manning was hanging out with San Francisco pitcher Logan Webb and third baseman Matt Chapman. Francesca delivered an excellent line read, noting that "they really do get together" upon seeing the worlds collide. They joke about having a "Giants-Giants BBQ" and just calling it a Giants BBQ. The annual @SFGiants and @Giants meetup… kind of a b̶i̶g̶ Giant deal. Manning shared a behind-the-scenes clip on his social media where he provided more details. He described it as a "yearly tradition" when the San Francisco Giants are in town to play the New York Mets. He called it a "great" tradition for the crew. Bravo to everyone on brilliant execution on this sketch.

'South Park' is about to leave HBO Max — here's when it will be gone
Back in July, Paramount confirmed "South Park" would be heading to Paramount Plus for at least the next five years. That change meant Paramount's streaming service would be the home of new episodes from "South Park" season 27 as well as the previous 26 seasons, which were on HBO Max. But at the time of that announcement, old episodes of "South Park" were still on HBO Max. In fact, as you're reading this, they still are on the streaming service formerly known as Max. That's changing this week, though. As of Tuesday, Aug. 5, old "South Park" episodes will leave HBO Max for good, joining the season 27 premiere on Paramount Plus. This is because a temporary deal between Park County, which licenses the show's streaming rights, and HBO Max will expire on that date (h/t The Hollywood Reporter). If you're reading this and wondering how this change will impact you, the answer is very simple: You need to get Paramount Plus to watch "South Park." It's now the exclusive home of the hit animated series, no matter where on Earth you're located. Paramount Plus is the exclusive home of "South Park," but it also offers hit original shows, the latest movies, and more from every brand in the Paramount umbrella. It even has live sports, including the NFL on CBS. If you're only concerned about new episodes, you could just subscribe to a live TV streaming service that carries Comedy Central. That's where new episodes of season 27 air before heading to streaming. The cheapest live TV option in the U.S. for catching new episodes is Philo. It costs just $28 a month and includes Comedy Central, dozens of entertainment channels and AMC Plus. Right now, you can try Philo free for seven days, which is a pretty good deal. But with prices starting at just $7.99 a month, a Paramount Plus subscription will still be your cheapest way to stream new episodes of "South Park."
