Kate Winslet helps lift profits at Ballymaloe Cookery School
That resulted in accumulated profits rising to €3.05m last year.
The east Cork cookery school business sits on a 100-acre organic firm where Darina Allen is the majority shareholder.
In April last year, the cookery school came into the spotlight after Oscar-winning actor Kate Winslet enrolled in a two-and-a-half-day course with TV chef and bestselling cookbook author Rachel Allen.
The cookery school usually offers over 60 courses each year, and the flagship course remains the 12-week certificate course which runs three times every year.
The courses for this September and January of next year are already booked out, with participants paying €16,295 for September's course. The cost rises to €16,795 for the January course.
A waiting list is in place for each of the two upcoming 12-week certificate courses.
The school is a significant employer in east Cork and last year numbers employed increased from 68 to 73 as staff costs rose from €2.52m to €2.6m.
Staff numbers are made up of three directors and 70 teachers and administration staff.
The profits last year take account of non-cash depreciation costs of €183,123 while directors' pay dipped slightly from €336,478 to €329,847.
The firm's cash funds increased from €944,642 to €988,639.
The book value of the firm's fixed assets increased marginally from €4.7m to €4.78m.
Under the heading of 'post balance sheet event', the accounts state: 'There is a significant risk to the global economy arising from the current geopolitical situation and the impact on energy costs and inflation.'
The note adds that this will have 'implications for the activities of the company' in future months.
"The directors are unable to quantify or determine what the extent of the implications of these matters are for the company as at the date of approval of the financial statements,' they note.
The cookery school is one of a number of businesses operated by members of the Allen family at Ballymaloe.

US President Donald Trump tees it up with Paul McGinley as he opens new course
US President Donald Trump was joined by Irish golfing legend Paul McGinley as he officially opened his newest golf course in Aberdeen. Trump has spent the last few days in Scotland visiting his golf courses and holding a number of political meetings as part of the proceedings, was the opening of the 'new course' at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen. The controversial US President was joined by Ryder Cup-winning captain Paul McGinley and his fellow Sky Sports pundit and PGA Championship winner Rich Beem for a round of golf. McGinley is one of Ireland's golfing greats, winning three Ryder Cups as a player and was a winning captain in 2014. Wicklow travel firm is only Irish company on exclusive list of top 15 tour operators in world
Vagabond Adventure Tours, based in Newtownmountkennedy, has won the Travel + Leisure Magazine's World's Best Award for the second time, having first claimed the title in 2023, in the prestigious 'Tour Operator' category. The prestigious magazine, based in New York, has a readership figure of 4.8 million and specialises in leisure travel, often featuring articles penned by well-known novelists, poets, artists, designers, and non-travel journalists. Its 'World's Best Awards', is an annual reader survey and have been a feature since 1995. Votes added by the magazine's readers are taken into consideration to recognize and give out the honours.
