Disappointment as Drake's final Wireless set ends after 40 minutes
Line-up changes
Earlier in the day, the official setlist had advertised two Drake sets - one at 18:25 and one at 20:55.The first mysteriously disappeared from the schedule during the course of the afternoon, with planned performances from Vybz Kartel and Burna Boy going ahead in their allotted time slots.Fans appeared surprised when Drake entered the stage just minutes after Burna Boy had finished, with the Canadian announcing himself to the crowd by speaking to fans.He appeared agitated, which was a departure from his more upbeat attitude from Friday and Saturday night.Drake started his set by playing an unreleased collaboration with British rapper Central Cee, who did not appear on stage to perform but instead mouthed the words from his position in the front row, which was projected across the big screens. The Toronto rapper and singer appeared apologetic throughout, promising to play some of his biggest hits to win over the crowd. He told the crowd: "London, I will love you for the rest of my life," as he raced through a medley of tracks. They included Controlla, Find Your Love and One Dance, which were remixed and updated for 2025, but felt slightly rushed, with their new arrangements making it difficult for fans to sing along.A surprise appearance from Nigerian rapper Rema raised spirits in the crowd, with tracks Calm Down and Fever proving a highlight. But after a brief cameo from Jamaican dancehall artist Vybz Kartel, who had performed to a huge crowd earlier in the day, there was only time for two more Drake solo songs. For the third night in a row, he climbed onto a crane to wave to the 50,000 attendees as Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You blasted through the speakers.
After gaining social media traction over the weekend, fans quickly realised it signalled the end of a disappointedly short headline set.Drake already fell victim to the 22:30 curfew on Friday night, with organisers cutting both his and Lauryn Hill's microphones off and replacing show graphics with information on local train stations. He did a better job of keeping timings in check during Saturday's show, but it is unknown whether it was his decision to start his Sunday evening set 45 minutes before the event was due to end.Fans around us expressed their discontent as they shuffled to the exits, with many unaware of the strict local curfews that operate in the park. Some even told us they had spent longer queuing to get into the venue than they'd seen Drake perform.Whilst attempting to leave, we were alerted to scenes of distress at the accessible exit.Fans could be seen and heard pleading with security to let them leave after being told they would have to be held in a restrictive space for ten minutes or until other security gave them the green light. This led to hysteria, with fans attacking the barriers, shouting and pleading that they were disabled and needed to leave.Wireless Festival's organisers have been contacted by the BBC for comment.

I know the real Helena and the truth about her being a ‘good time girl' – Love Island have set her up to look bad
SHE has been cruelly trolled for letting Harry Cooksley walk all over her in the Love Island villa, for 'being open' and even for laughing too much. The reaction has left those close to Helena Ford shocked and saddened, and determined to clear her name. 5 5 5 One person who thinks Helena has been unfairly treated is her close friend and long time hairdresser, who says: 'She's had a rough time in there - the way that people are portraying her on social media, it's just so unfair.' Natalie Clayton, who owns NCWeave in Merseyside, has been doing Helena's hair for the last four years and did it just before she entered the villa. She has explained why people might think Helena is a 'good time girl', after Harry branded her that. She told us: 'I think she knows what Harry is like, and she's never been in a relationship before, and that's what people are forgetting, because she's just, she's just having fun. 'She doesn't take life too seriously. She is one for just having fun and living her best life.' The 29-year-old has been open about the fact she's never had a relationship before and Natalie thinks she's just embracing it all - rather than being bogged down in the details of relationships. 'Because of her job and her lifestyle, I don't think she's just ever thought about settling down yet,' Natalie told us. 'She loves travelling, she loves going out with her friends. So I think she's just never met that right person where she's wanted to settle down with them.' On Love Island Helena has mostly been coupled up with Harry but has gained the reputation of someone who is very flirty with the opposite sex. Bella Rose Hair & Beauty owner Natalie believes that Helena, who travels three hours just to get her extensions there, has been edited to look a certain way. She said: 'I think maybe the clips that have been heard have made it worse because I do think that Shakira has been worse with her than Helena has with Shakira and I don't understand why people can't see that coming across. 'At the end of the day they've just got a similar type and they've both gone for the same person and then she's been portrayed like she keeps going for her men. 'But you can see Helena was shocked at that because she's not even realised and just been like we've got the same type and she was joking about it. 'And then I think Shakira, from what's been heard, she's been talking about Helena a hell of a lot more.' Natalie said her reaction to laugh at so many things is because she isn't a fan of confrontation. 'She just likes to keep herself to herself in her own little bubble and she just wants to be friends with everyone and get on with everyone,' she told us. 'I know people are saying she said this and that, but you can see by the things that she's done, she just doesn't take life seriously.' And Natalie thinks she has what it takes to win the show, telling us: 'I would absolutely love her to win the show because it has been great TV. 'Whether people have liked her or not liked her, I think if she hadn't been in there it could have been very boring!' Fish, real name Derek Dick, completed the UK-leg of his final tour earlier this year before he set sail to retirement on his croft in the Outer Hebrides. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The former Marillion frontman arrived in Edinburgh alongside his wife Simone Rösler at the weekend ahead of being awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Edinburgh's Archaeology department. However, after discovering previous reporting of protests around the university's investments linked to Israel, he announced in a post to social media that he decided to turn the degree down. Fish decided to turn down the honorary doctorate on Tuesday. | Corbis via Getty Images Fish said that, on Monday, 'the sky fell in' when he was sitting alone on the couch and he received a notification on his phone. 'It [the day] had all started so well but then my phone pinged and the sky fell in,' he said. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'At first glance, I'd been sent a report about a large student protest about the genocide in Palestine but then as I read deeper into the article it took on a darker significance. 'I'd completely missed previous reporting about Edinburgh University having been unpatched from a lot of media while on the island and caught up with our own issues.' He added that he spoke with his family about the situation and they were all supportive. Fish also added that the University communications team understood his position. The ex-singer said: 'The way I saw it there were three choices. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'Accept the award, ignore the elephant in the room and say nothing. This would leave me wide open to rightful questions being asked about my own values and I would be asking myself those questions too. 'Accept the award and make my points in a condemning speech. I'd still have the consequences of the first option to deal with and probably come off as more of a hypocrite. 'Decline the award and walk away.' He said he decided to make the decision to decline the award and walk away. He added: 'At the end of the day the doctorate wouldn't have changed my life and I'm never going to regret yesterday's decision. 'My conscience is clear in that respect, and I feel I made a statement no matter how small. It felt good.'

Jennifer Aniston teases hot new romance with hunky guru in cryptic post about 'radiating love'
Jennifer Aniston has fans buzzing after packing on the PDA with new beau Jim Curtis during a romantic yacht getaway — and now she's dropping cryptic clues on Instagram. After exclusively revealed the Friends icon, 56, spent the Fourth of July weekend with Curtis, the pair were seen looking every bit the couple in exclusive photos from the Mallorca yacht escape. In one snap, Aniston rested her hand on Curtis' thigh while chatting with friends, and in another, he gently stroked her hair as they lounged on deck — the pair appeared unable to keep their hands off each other. 'She's dating Jim and is very happy, but she's still taking things slowly,' a source previously told adding that Jen — whose exes include Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux — 'feels very connected to Jim, as they have the same level of emotional intelligence, unlike some of her previous suitors.' And now, Aniston appears to be dropping hints about the new man in her life. On Monday, she took to Instagram Stories with a pair of cryptic posts that had fans reading between the lines. First, the Friends alum reposted a tweet that read: 'The Friends theme song was right, no one told us life was gonna be this way' — seemingly referencing an unexpected new chapter in her life. Then came the real eyebrow-raiser: a quote from 'mindfulness expert' Case Kenny that read, 'People who still radiate love in a world that has shown them its darkest sides, please never change.' Fans immediately began theorizing that the message was about Curtis, who's known for his uplifting, love-centric philosophy. Curtis regularly posts inspirational quotes and 'manifestations' to help people 'break free from their past and patterns' to find love - and Aniston has been following him on the social media platform for almost two years. Meanwhile, Jen's Instagram clues came hot on the heels of Curtis expressing how meaningful their Mallorca getaway had been. 'I am back from vacation and what an experience!' he wrote in his newsletter, according to Page Six. 'When I was sick, sad, stuck and in pain I never thought I would have the abundance, joy and love I now experience on a daily basis. 'I just took one step, made one decision and the next followed — now I look back and realize, oh! That course, that life change, that pain, resulted in this magic.' Jim added: 'The same life that brings struggle also brings opportunity. The possibility of something better — more aligned, more free, more meaningful — is always here.' Curtis has had his own share of life-changing challenges. Beginning in the summer of 1995, right after his freshman year at the University of New Hampshire, when he was hit with severe nerve pain that would stay with him for years. An MRI later revealed lesions on his spinal cord, a diagnosis that pushed Curtis to pivot from his 'frat guy athlete' persona and explore a different path focused on healing and personal transformation. He credits a university professor for setting that new course into motion. 'He taught me to meditate and introduced me to the idea of mindfulness: focusing on just being present,' Curtis shared in a 2017 interview. Curtis was previously married to Rachel Napolitano, though their relationship reportedly ended not long after she gave birth to their son, Aidan, who is now a teenager. Aniston, of course, has had her own romantic history in the spotlight. She was famously married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 before their headline-making split when Pitt began a relationship with Angelina Jolie while filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith. She later tied the knot with actor and writer Justin Theroux in 2015, but the marriage ended in divorce three years later. In a 2022 interview, Aniston opened up for the first time about her private struggle to have children — and the emotional toll it took. 'It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road,' she admitted. 'All the years and years and years of speculation... It was really hard. 'I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it,' she added. ' 'I would've given anything if someone had said to me, "Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor." You just don't think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed.' Still, Aniston noted: 'I have zero regrets.' As for Theroux, 53, he recently tied the knot again — this time in a secret ceremony with 30-year-old actress Nicole Brydon Bloom. Sources say the news came as a surprise to Aniston, but she didn't hesitate to extend her well wishes. 'Jennifer was one of the first to congratulate Justin on getting married,' a source told DailyMail in March. ' 'Yes, it took her by surprise, but they have maintained a close friendship, and she is happy for him that he has found true love.' The insider added that while Jen is genuinely supportive of her ex's new chapter, there was a tinge of bittersweetness — especially given the age gap between Theroux and his new wife.
