An Alberta company swept up in allegations of government corruption says it's being further harmed by the suppression of a report it believes will exonerate them.
Medical supply company MHCare Medical is calling on the province's front-line health provider to release an audit into health contracts commissioned by its former chief executive officer.
MHCare believes the audit from former Alberta Health Services head Athana Mentzelopoulos may provide concrete proof allegations against its CEO are baseless.
Mentzelopoulos is suing Premier Danielle Smith's government for wrongful dismissal, claiming she was fired for looking into questionable, overpriced contracts.

MHCare is not named as a defendant in the lawsuit, but contracts it had with AHS were part of the examination by a law firm that is referenced in court documents.

The province has denied any wrongdoing, arguing in court documents that Mentzelopoulos was fired for poor job performance and for dragging her feet on health-care reforms.

'Hargun was young but determined, she told her mother that she wanted to be a physiotherapist. Unfortunately, her dreams were cut short.' Story continues below advertisement The fundraiser adds that the family lost everything in the fire, and faces a difficult recovery, emotional devastation, and the effort of rebuilding their lives from scratch. 'This has shaken the whole community. Friends, neighbours, and even strangers have come forward offering support, but the road ahead is long and overwhelming,' the fundraiser says. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but is not believed to be suspicious.

Accused holocaust memorial vandal was City of Ottawa employee on leave
The City of Ottawa has cut ties with an employee who is accused of vandalizing the National Holocaust Monument with paint, Mayor Mark Sutcliffe confirmed Sunday. Ottawa police announced Saturday that a 46-year-old man had been charged with several offences, including mischief to a war memorial, mischief exceeding $5,000 and harassment by threatening conduct. The vandalism has drawn condemnation from across the political spectrum, including from Prime Minister Mark Carney, who said he was 'appalled' someone would target a space for mourning and remembrance. Suspect charged in alleged carjacking of Victoria mom and kids
A man has been arrested and charged after what Victoria police Chief Const. Del Manak described as a 'very troubling & dangerous incident' Saturday morning. In a post on X, Manak said a suspect forced his way into an occupied vehicle, forcibly removing the female driver and yelling at her kids to get out of the car, before driving away.
