Shes Perfect just that in workout, with Newmarket decision pending

First past the post in the French 1000 Guineas before being demoted by the ParisLongchamp stewards, she failed failed to see out the 10-furlong trip in the Prix de Diane.
Fellowes would love a confidence-boosting win, with the Group Three Valiant Stakes at Ascot later in the month an alternative, but he also feels Newmarket will suit the daughter of Sioux Nation.
'The gallop went really well and I was very, very happy. She worked over seven furlongs, it was beautiful ground and I was very grateful to those at the July course for letting us do it,' said Fellowes.
'She looked great after it and we'll see how she comes out of it. I'll probably make a decision in the next few days or so.
'It's a funny one, if it was the Valiant at Newmarket and the Group One at Ascot it would be a very easy decision because I like the idea of running at Newmarket – but I also like the idea of dropping down in grade and giving her a confidence boost. I just think Newmarket will suit her better than Ascot.
'We'll look at potentially what is going to turn up and we'll go from there.'

Liverpool agree Hugo Ekitike terms after muscling in on Newcastle transfer plans

Hugo Ekitike will become Liverpool's new centre-forward after the Reds agreed a six-year contract with the French forward, who had been targeted by Newcastle United Liverpool have agreed terms with Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike and will make the Frenchman the latest new addition to their busy summer. ‌ Ekitike has said yes to a move to Anfield and will sign a six-year deal, with the Reds muscling in on Newcastle's bid for the 23-year-old after also making an enquiry for Magpies star Alexander Isak. ‌ The signing of Ekitike will take the champions' spending to north of £250million since they won the Premier League, but although he has an £86.5m release clause in his contract Liverpool hope to agree a deal for less. ‌ The move for Ekitike comes after Newcastle made a bullish attempt at signing the forward, who scored 22 goals last season and has rejected the Magpies in the past. Newcastle were at pains to make it known that they planned on partnering Ekitike with current No.9 Isak, with Liverpool effectively calling their bluff by registering an interest in the Swede as well as following up on plans to sign Ekitike. The Reds indicated they would be willing to do a deal at around £120m for Isak, while at the same time Newcastle saw their £70m bid for Ekitike rejected by Frankfurt. ‌ Emboldened by the knowledge that Ekitike wants to join them, and mindful of not entering into a transfer saga over Isak, Liverpool will now seek to wrap up a deal for Ekitike before they head off on their pre-season tour of Asia next week. Manchester United have also been strongly linked with a move for Ekitike, who is yet to win a senior cap for France but has scored five goals in five games for their Under-21s. ‌ His arrival will effectively signal the end of Darwin Nunez's Liverpool career after three seasons, despite the Uruguayan seeing a move to Napoli collapse earlier this week. Nunez is still being targeted by Italian and Saudi Arabian clubs, with the Reds hopeful of selling for around £70m. Ekitike's arrival would be the third new addition that Liverpool have made from the Bundesliga this season, having also snapped up the Bayer Leverkusen pair of Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong. Left-back Milos Kerkez has also arrived from Bournemouth, while goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili arrived from Valencia in a deal which was initially agreed last summer.

Ibrahima Konate's coach backs Liverpool defender to join Real Madrid and take star's place

Ibrahima Konate has entered the final 12 months of his deal with Liverpool and there are fears that he could run down his contract before joining Real Madrid on a free transfer Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has been backed to join Real Madrid and take Antonio Rudiger's place at centre-back. Konate, 26, is stalling on a new deal at Anfield after turning down Liverpool's first offer. ‌ The Frenchman was reportedly unhappy with the payment structure, with the contract heavily based meeting performance targets. Konate's representatives have been pushing for a higher basic wage and there are fears that he could choose to run down his current deal and leave on a free transfer in June 2026, having rejected a big-money move to Saudi Arabia this summer. ‌ His uncertain future has prompted speculation of a move to Madrid and Real are no strangers to signing players at the end of their contracts - especially from Liverpool. The Spanish giants convinced Trent Alexander-Arnold to reject a new deal with his boyhood club this year and have previously signed stars like David Alaba, Kylian Mbappe and Rudiger on free transfers. ‌ And it's Rudiger who'd better watch out if Konate joins that list, according to his former youth coach at French club Sochaux. Eric Hely believes that the 26-year-old is better than Rudiger and would slot into Xabi Alonso's side. "I'd say better than Rudiger, who is undoubtedly an athlete, but I think Ibrahima is technically stronger," Hely told Marca. "I'm sure he can succeed at Madrid and wherever he wants. "I think he'd fit in very well with Xabi. He can play in a three-man defence, as he did at [RB] Leipzig, and in a four-man defence. He's a kid who never caused any problems. ‌ "I remember when he came from Paris to stay at our residence. And he was always there to help and make life easier. The other kids followed him because of his charisma." Hely went on to say: "I would highlight his charisma and his simplicity, which make him a leader. He was very clear about that for a boy his age. He wanted to succeed and worked tirelessly, even on his own. ‌ "He'll listen and learn, and then he'll establish himself in the group with his personality. I don't see him as [Raphael] Varane. He's more of a [Marcel] Desailly type. He gives off a lot of confidence and has a very good footwork." Arne Slot would be reluctant to lose Konate, although the Reds have registered their interest in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. The England international is also out of contract next summer, potentially allowing Liverpool to employ the same tactic as Real by signing Guehi without paying a fee. I had mixed feelings about Gassama signing for Rangers but he's like my little brother and I wished him all the best

As club captain at Hillsborough, Barry Bannan grew so close to the young Frenchman that he came to look upon the 21-year-old as a little brother Sheffield Wednesday skipper Barry Bannan is the first to admit he's got mixed feelings about Djeidi Gassama's move to Rangers. ‌ As club captain at Hillsborough, he grew so close to the young Frenchman that he came to look upon the 21-year-old as a little brother. ‌ Naturally then, he'd love nothing more than to see his friend smash it in Scotland. ‌ But that's where the Celtic-daft Owls ace is conflicted. Because if Gassama's goes on to fulfil the huge potential Bannan has seen brewing down in Yorkshire, it might just threaten the era of dominance his Parkhead heroes have built up this past decade. It was that dilemma Bannan had to grapple with last week as he bid farewell to the former PSG youngster at their St George's Park training camp, which coincidentally was where Russell Martin's squad were based too. 'I was really close with Djeidi,' the former Scotland midfielder told Record Sport. 'We had a laugh and a joke when the deal was completed last week at St George's Park. I wished him all the best. 'But I said to him, 'If you need any help in Glasgow, don't phone me!' ‌ 'No he's a lovely kid. I've got family members who are Rangers fans and no doubt I'll be looking to him to sort me out with some tickets - but for them, not me personally! 'I got on with him really well, he was like a kid brother to me. There's a big age gap between us and he looked up to me a bit, so I'd love to see him do well - but not too well!' Gassama has signed a four-year deal with the option of a fifth after completing a £2.2million switch to Glasgow. ‌ The Rangers fans were made to sweat on the move being completed however. On Thursday night, leaked pictures emerged from Gers training camp down south showing Gassama cutting about the plush £80million base used by the England national team in Light Blues training gear. Yet the following morning, it appeared Gassama's move north could be in danger as Owls owner Dejphon Chansiri stalled in the hope of luring in bigger offers to help appease troubled Wednesday's cash crisis. ‌ Asked if he knew anything about the delays, the 35-year-old Wednesday ace joked: 'Aye I locked him in his room for a few days so he couldn't get out! "Seriously, I think this is a great move for Djeidi and Rangers." In the end, Rangers got the deal done this week - and Bannan believes it will work out to be terrific business for the Light Blues. ‌ 'Djeidi's done a lot of growing up since he came to Wednesday but at the start of his time here, it took him quite a long time to get to the pace of the English game. 'You could tell he had ability from his first day in training but it just wasn't clicking, he was in and out of the team last season. ‌ 'Obviously, as a young kid coming out to a new country, it was quite difficult for him. 'We had a lot of French boys on the team which helped him as well a wee bit but he was obviously adjusting to a completely different life to the one he'd been used to in France. 'You could see that some days he would come in tired and you wouldn't really get much out of him. But then there were other days when he'd be on FIRE! ‌ "Being the captain of the club, I was really close with him and tried to help him. And crucially, he did listen to the pointers we tried to give him. 'He was a really lovely, lovely kid off the pitch, really nice. Just a down to earth kid who wanted to learn. 'So his first season was hard but you could see there was ability from the off. ‌ 'Then at the start of last season, he came back and had this more mature sense about him. He'd had a newborn baby with his missus, so it looked like he'd done a lot of growing up in that summer. 'I think he was told by the manager that he might have to get on loan before that preseason - but I heard he told the manager something like 'I won't be going anywhere, I'll come back and prove to you.' ‌ 'It was like he had a bee in his bonnet. He went away and worked really hard on his upper body strength and last season we saw him become a different player completely for us. 'He got most of the Player of the Year awards along with Shea Charles, so he had a really, really strong season." But while Bannan sees big things for Gassama's future, he admits there's still some work to be done with the France Under-20 cap in the here and now. ‌ 'I'd say the Rangers fans are probably still going to have to be patient with him because he's still a young boy, only 21," he said. 'I know that's probably not young in football terms but he's still got a lot to learn. 'He's not shy. He's a lovely kid who just wants to have a good laugh. 'There will be games where you'll be frustrated with him - and then there'll be games where you think, 'Wow, we've got some player on our hands here. 'He has got some serious potential and last season we saw that at Wednesday. 'He maybe didn't finish the season as strongly as he'd have wanted but he did play a lot of games last year for someone of such a young age - and he was brilliant. If he can find a bit of consistency then it'll be a very, very good signing for Rangers.'
