‘Shabu' worth P13M seized in QC buy-bust
In a statement, the NCRPO said the suspect identified as 43-year-old 'Jessie' was nabbed after an undercover police officer was able to buy supposed illegal drugs worth P800,000 from him.
The operation was launched after authorities received intelligence reports linking Jessie to drug trafficking, according to the NCRPO.
Seized from the suspects were the following:
two kilograms of suspected shabu packed in Chinese tea bags
marked buy-bust money and high-denomination cash bills
bank transaction slips
personal IDs
mobile phone
The suspect is currently detained at Batasan Police Station and will be presented for inquest proceedings before the DOJ National Prosecution Service, the NCRPO said.
According to the Quezon City Police District, the suspect will face charges for the sale and possession of illegal drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
"This major arrest was not instant. This was preceded by series of intel-driven operations targeting small-time drug personalities who shared valuable intelligence resulting from the identification and arrest of this high value individual," NCRPO chief Police Major General Anthony Aberin said. —AOL, GMA Integrated News

High-value drug suspect, most wanted man nabbed in Pangasinan
Authorities arrested a high-value drug suspect and one of the province's most wanted men in two separate operations in Mangaldan, Pangasinan. Police arrested a 29-year-old man in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Embarcadero. The suspect, a resident of Dagupan City, is reportedly a regional top-priority target. CIDG: 9 Chinese arrested over human trafficking in Cebu
'Investigation revealed that the rescued female victim and other Filipino workers of the alleged guerrilla POGO and scam hub were detained against their will, forced to work, and were not allowed to leave the house where they were working for the scam,' the CIDG said. Nine Chinese were arrested at an alleged Philippine offshore gaming operation and scam hub in Mandaue City, Cebu, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the Philippine National Police said on Friday. The CIDG said the suspects were arrested for alleged human trafficking at the establishment inside a subdivision in Barangay Alang-alang on Wednesday. The raid on the POGO hub was launched after a Filipino victim asked to be rescued. 'Investigation revealed that the rescued female victim and other Filipino workers of the alleged guerrilla POGO and scam hub were detained against their will, forced to work, and were not allowed to leave the house where they were working for the scam,' the CIDG said. The arrested Chinese suspects failed to present passports and valid documents supporting their stay or work in the Philippines, according to the CIDG. Seized from the raid were various electronic devices, including 21 desktop computers, 40 cellular phones, one tablet, and electronic accessories, which were turned over to the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 7 for forensic examination. The suspects will be facing complaints for the violation of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 as amended by the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012 and 2022, as well as immigration laws. 'This successful operation underscores the National Government's and PNP CIDG's intensified efforts against illegal POGOs and [internet gaming licensees], pursuant to Executive Order Number 74,' CIDG chief Police Brigadier General Romeo J. Macapaz said. 'Rest assured that your CIDG is unyielding in catching and cracking down on individuals and syndicates, local or foreign nationals, who are involved in all types of crimes in the country, including trafficking in persons and illegal operations of POGOs/IGLs,' he added.

BI nabs Chinese wanted for large-scale fraud
A Chinese fugitive wanted in his country for alleged large-scale telecommunications fraud was arrested by immigration authorities in Mabalacat City, Pampanga. Identified as Zhao Jianfeng, the foreigner was nabbed in an operation on June 28 in a residential area under a detention warrant issued by the Liangqing Branch of the Nanning Municipal Public Security Bureau in China in June. He was detained at the BI detention facility in Taguig while awaiting deportation proceedings. Chinese authorities said Zhao was allegedly one of the core members of a transnational criminal syndicate involved in telecom and online investment scams targeting Chinese citizens. All suspects were reportedly based in the Philippines at the time the crimes were committed. The operation was conducted in coordination with local intelligence units. 'This individual is part of a dangerous and organized network that has defrauded countless victims online. His continued presence in the country poses a clear and serious threat to public safety,' said BI Commissioner Joel Viado. 'This arrest sends a strong message — the Philippines is not a safe haven for foreign fugitives,' he said. Other suspects arrested were five Chinese nationals who were allegedly caught in the act of manning computer workstations believed to be used for telecom fraud. They were identified as Song Genyuan, Wu Xinxu, Wen Jing, Xu Yongcheng, and Lin Jinyang. 'All suspects are currently undergoing booking and documentation. They will be turned over to the BI Warden Facility in preparation for deportation proceedings,' said Viado.
