Thankfully, a clever mum hack has surfaced on TikTok, showing that it doesn't have to be such a struggle.
This simple trick aims to save you time and energy, meaning more time for having fun and soaking up the sunshine.
Mum-of-three Cassandra, known as 'xcassandracx' on TikTok, shared a video of her hack, calling it a gamechanger.
She captioned the video: 'Anything for that cold glass of Prosecco in the sun and the kids to play happily.'
Cassandra said all you need is an empty plastic bottle and a hairdryer to blow up your paddling pool with ease.
She cut the lid end off a plastic bottle, then inserted her hairdryer into the cut opening, ensuring the bottle maintained a circular shape at the wider end.
This created a makeshift pump, which she inserted into the valve of the paddling pool, using the hairdryer on a cold setting to inflate it effortlessly.
She claimed it was the 'mum hack of the summer".
Her video has gained thousands of views, with 99 people liking it and 16 rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.

Bananas keep fresh for 'almost a month' when stored with one kitchen item

A food expert has shared a simple storage hack for prolonging the life of bananas, and it promises to keep them fresh and yellow for an impressive period of time Bananas are a delicious and nutritious snack that are easy to grab on the go, but they're notoriously known for rapidly ripening. ‌ Various methods can help extend the shelf life of the fruit, including wrapping the stems with cling film and foil. However, one food expert has revealed a distinctive storage trick that promises to keep bananas fresh for up to a remarkable 26 days. ‌ Amy Cross demonstrated the technique on her TikTok account @amycrosslegacy, showing precisely what to do in the clip, which has garnered more than 100 likes. It comes after a doctor's warning to people who drink even a 'single cup of tea'. ‌ Half a million free Cinnamon Social slices up for grabs in Ole & Steen's UK-wide giveaway The social media user sliced a banana into sections while keeping the peel on and placed them in a glass jar in the fridge. In a follow-up video, she then disclosed that astonishingly, the banana pieces remained fresh with vibrant yellow skins after 26 days, reports the Express. ‌ She said: "These are the bananas I purchased on March 13, and I cut this into thirds and put it into a jar, so they're 26 days old." Amy originally intended to see if she could maintain a cut banana fresh for longer hours, but she far surpassed that target by achieving weeks of freshness. "The whole goal of putting the bananas in the jar was to see if I can get a cut bananas to last 12 hours, and it's been 26 days," she added. ‌ If you're not keen on chopping your bananas, store them in a cool, shaded spot. Bananas should be maintained at roughly 12 degrees, as they'll ripen quicker if they're too warm. Bananas thrive in a room with low light and no direct sunlight, so a toasty kitchen isn't the best place for them. If you're looking to store peeled bananas, the juice trick is your best bet. Once a banana has been sliced and exposed to air, it's prone to browning quickly. To prevent this, it's recommended to drizzle some lemon or pineapple juice over it, making it perfect for a fruit salad.

Almost three quarters of Gen Zs get meal inspiration from social media – double the number who rely on cookbook

GET A TASTE Almost three quarters of Gen Zs get meal inspiration from social media – double the number who rely on cookbook Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) GEN Z are turning their backs on mum's old recipe books and getting their food inspo from TikTok instead – with nearly three in four saying social media decides what's for dinner. A sizzling 72 per cent of 18–27-year-olds now plan their meals based on what they see online, with TikTok leading the charge at 84 per cent, followed closely by Instagram at 75 per cent. Even family and friends are taking a back seat, with just 45 per cent turning to real-life chats for food ideas. When it comes to trust, influencers are king, 44 per cent of Gen Z say they're the most reliable source for food content, ahead of celeb chefs at 39 per cent and even cooking channels at 34 per cent. And the influence doesn't stop at inspiration. Around 42 per cent say they've actually bought ingredients after seeing them on social media. Discount codes and affiliate links are key drivers, with many saying it saves them from writing shopping lists, searching online, or even leaving the house. For this generation, convenience is everything. The average Gen Z spends nearly four hours a week watching food-related content online, from viral snack hacks to bizarre creations like pancake cereal and roast dinner wraps. But it's not just for show, 52 per cent say they genuinely enjoy cooking and finding new things to try, while 42 per cent prefer making quality meals at home instead of eating out. A third admit they rarely dine out at all due to time or cost. Social media isn't just filling plates – it's expanding palates too. A massive 63 per cent credit it for getting them to try new dishes and flavours they'd never have touched before. Bubble tea, wraps, cereal made from pancakes – nothing's off the table. The study of 1,000 Gen Z adults, commissioned by Publicis Commerce, reveals a massive shift in how this generation cooks, eats and shops. Steve Ricketts, chief commerce officer at Publicis Media, said the gap between 'seeing and buying' is closing fast – and brands need to catch up. 'This research shows just how central social media has become to how Gen Z think about food, from what they cook to what ends up in their basket,' he said. 'They're discovering recipes through influencers, finding products in real time, and buying them directly on the same platform. For brands, that means the moment of inspiration is also the moment of purchase.' So if you thought TikTok was just for dances and filters, think again – it's what's for dinner. TOP 10 SOURCES FOR MEAL INSPIRATION FOR GEN Z: 1. Social media 2. Chatting with friends/family 3. Online recipe pages 4. TV shows 5. Cookbooks 6. Searching online search engines 7. Films 8. Supermarket websites 9. Blogs 10. Recipe kits e.g. Hello Fresh
