Snohomish County, WA deputies seek help in Lynnwood drive-by shooting
The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office is seeking help identifying suspects in a drive-by shooting incident in Lynnwood.
Deputies say two white men in a black sedan shot at a Hispanic man's truck after leaving LA Fitness.
Tips can be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers, and a cash reward is available if the tip leads to an arrest.
LYNNWOOD, Wash. - Snohomish County Sheriff's deputies are asking for your help to identify the suspects who shot at a man's truck after he left the LA Fitness Gym on Mukilteo Speedway in Lynnwood.
What we know
The victim is Hispanic. The suspects are two white men driving an older black lowered sedan, possibly a Honda Accord-style race car with tinted windows.
It happened on May 5 after he saw four vehicles pull into the parking lot of the gym and start doing donuts. The victim says the gym's surveillance cameras were not working.
He had no interaction with them, but a black sedan followed his truck as he drove home, pulled up alongside him, and the passenger started shooting.
"When I looked to the side, they pulled the window down and they pointed a gun at me but they didn't say nothing, so I got scared and kept driving my truck to my sister's house. I called her but she didn't answer. I called the police and they picked up, and then at the light they shot at me and they broke the passenger seats and I got scared. I wondered who these people are," said the victim, who did not want to be identified for his safety.
If you have any information on the identity of the suspects or the location of their car, please contact the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound through the P3 Tips App on your cell phone or call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). There is a cash reward offered of up to $1,000 for the tip that leads to an arrest. You can reference case #25-60310.

Manhattan mass shooting suspect Shane Tamura's Las Vegas activities investigated
New York City police detectives searched the Las Vegas studio apartment of the suspected gunman in Monday's mass shooting at a Midtown Manhattan office tower and found what law enforcement sources described to ABC News as a suicide note he left for his parents. The suspect, 27-year-old Shane Tamura, died by suicide after fatally shooting four people, including an off-duty NYPD officer and a security officer, when he burst into the high-rise at 345 Park Ave. around 6:30 p.m. on Monday wearing body armor and firing a high-powered AR-15-style rifle, authorities said. Tamura drove more than 2,000 miles from his home in Las Vegas to New York City to carry out the attack, authorities allege. NYPD detectives traveled to Las Vegas overnight to serve a search warrant on Tamura's apartment and interview people who knew and worked with the suspect. During the search of Tamura's apartment, according to law enforcement sources, investigators found an apparent suicide note he left for his mother and father, a retired Los Angeles police officer, writing, "When I look into you and dad's eyes, all I see is disappointment. I love you, Mama. I'm sorry." The search also turned up a tripod for the rifle, a single rifle round and 100 rounds of 9mm ammunition, according to sources. Investigators also interviewed Tamura's supervisor at the Horseshoe hotel and casino in Las Vegas, where the suspect, according to a spokesperson, was an employee in the surveillance department. The supervisor informed investigators that he sold Tamura the gun, an M4-style semiautomatic Palmetto State Armory PA-15 rifle, that was allegedly used in the Manhattan mass shooting, according to law enforcement sources. The supervisor, who the sources said was cooperative with police, claimed he legally purchased the gun and sold it to Tamura fully assembled with a scope and a barrel flashlight for $1,400, according to sources. The supervisor, according to sources, also told investigators he sold Tamura the black BMW the suspect drove across the country. A motive for the attack remains under investigation, but New York City Mayor Eric Adams said it appears Tamura, a former high school football player, was attempting to target the headquarters of the National Football League, located in the 345 Park Ave. building but took the wrong elevator and ended up in the 33rd-floor office of Rudin Management. In another note found in Tamura's pocket in the aftermath of the attack, the suspect claimed he suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a disease linked to repeated hits to the head, often seen in military veterans and athletes, including football players, hockey players and boxers, sources told ABC News. In the note, Tamura asked that his brain be studied, sources said. It remains unknown if Tamura suffered from CTE, which can't be diagnosed in a living person with certainty, though doctors may suspect it based on symptoms and a history of head trauma. Law enforcement sources told ABC News that Tamura had two mental health crisis holds in his background in Nevada, one in 2022 and the other in 2024. Those holds typically allow a person to be detained for up to 72 hours if they are thought to be a danger to themselves or others. As the investigation continued on Wednesday, the first funeral was held for one of the victims of the attack, Julia Hyman, an associate at Rudin Management, which is also located in the Park Avenue building. Hyman's funeral was held at the Central Synagogue in Midtown Manhattan. Hyman is believed to be the last victim Tamura allegedly killed before he fatally shot himself in the chest in Rudin Management's office on the 33rd floor. On Thursday, a funeral will be held for NYPD officer Didarul Islam, who was working security at the Park Avenue building and was shot while trying to confront the suspect in the building's lobby, officials said. The funeral for Islam, a married father of two who leaves behind a pregnant wife, will be held at the Parkchester Jame Masjid mosque in the Bronx. Also killed in the attack were Aland Etienne, a security officer at the Park Avenue building, who was also shot when he confronted the gunman on the first floor of the building, and Wesley LePatner, a married mom of two and a chief executive officer at Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust, which is also located in the building.

Report: 345 Park Avenue shooter bought assault rile from casino coworker
The man who killed four and seriously injured another at the building that houses the NFL's offices bought the gun from a coworker at a Las Vegas casino. Via the Associated Press, the New York Police Department has said that 27-year-old Shane Tamura purchased the AR-15-style rifle from his supervisor at the Horseshoe Las Vegas. The supervisor, whose name has not yet been released, legally bought the AR-15-style rifle for $1,400. It's not known whether the sale of the gun from the supervisor to Tamura was legal. The supervisor has cooperated with police, and he has yet to be charged. Tamura, who had a history of mental illness, had a note in his possession attributing his issues on CTE due to playing football. Meanwhile, the first of the four victims was laid to rest on Wednesday. Julia Hyman, 27, was buried after a service at a Manhattan synagogue. She had worked at Rudin Management, which owns the building. She was shot and killed on the 33rd floor of the building.

Irvine man charged with hate crimes after allegedly beating elderly driver and throwing hot coffee at another
An Irvine man faces hate crime charges after he allegedly threw a hot cup of coffee at a man and beat an elderly driver while shouting racial slurs. The Orange County District Attorney's Office described suspect Robert Tackett's actions as "hate motivated attacks" against two Hispanic men. Prosecutors charged Tackett, 54, with four counts related to the assaults, including inflicting injury on an elderly adult. He faces a maximum of eight years in state prison if convicted on all counts. He's being held at the Orange County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail. "Hate is a venom that poisons everything – and everyone – it touches. An attack motivated by hate is not an attack on just a single individual; it is an attack on the very fabric of our society and our community as a whole," Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said. The two alleged assaults happened on July 22 in two Orange County cities. In the morning, Tackett allegedly followed a garbage truck driver through Irvine on Sand Canyon Avenue near the 5 Freeway. The Irvine Police Department said Tackett tried to run the other driver off the road while shouting racial slurs at him. The Orange County District Attorney's Office said he allegedly tried to crash into the garbage truck twice, but the other driver quickly slammed the brakes and avoided a collision each time. After intentionally trying to crash into the victim, Tackett allegedly threw a hot cop of coffee that landed on the victim's face, hands and car interior, according to Irvine PD. The second assault happened at around 5:30 p.m. in Westminster. Tackett allegedly got out of his work van while stopped at a light, repeatedly punched a 72-year-old driver through an open window and shouted racial slurs. The California Highway Patrol arrested Tackett in Mammoth two days after the attacks. "Every member of our society deserves to go about their days unafraid that they would be targeted because of the color of their skin, their gender, or their sexual orientation," Spitzer said. "We must collectively combat hate by speaking up and speaking out against hate – and haters – to continue to send a strong message that hate will never be tolerated here in Orange County or anywhere."
