IPL Fans Are Dreading This TV Ad As Cricket Finally Returns. Can You Guess It?
IPL 2025 returns with RCB Vs KKR contest on Saturday evening but fans are dreading the recurring ads played during IPL broadcast. Can you guess which one is it?
Indian Premier League (IPL) fans are all geared up for the resumption of their favourite cricket series after the 18th edition was suspended briefly. IPL 2025 was halted amid the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. As the woes of potential war breaking out between the two nations subsided, BCCI chalked up a new schedule to bring this year's IPL to a conclusion which is already in its final leg. The first match after the announcement of suspension will be played at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday, May 13.
A time to gather once again and celebrate cricket, IPL fans are rather worried. Why? Let's us find out.
If you are just tuning in, there's an advertisement that plays on loop during the IPL commercial breaks. It's genius, it's jarring, it's on tv all the time.
'Dena zara Marie!"
'Almari?"
'Arrey, Marie Marie!"
'Icchadhari? Kaun saans hamari?"
'Buri hai yeh bemaari."
'Arrey, Parle Marie maang rahi hoon main!"
Parle Products, the Indian food corporation that gave us the iconic Parle-G, decided to come up with a series of TVC for their Marie biscuits and it turned out to be a crash course in marketing.
Call It Parle Marie
The idea behind the viral ads is simple. The magic word is 'Parle". Call it just 'Marie" and you are in an infinite back and forth of conveying what you actually want. The message behind the several commercials is that Parle Marie is the only Marie biscuit worth asking for. Calling it just 'Marie" wouldn't cut it.
Social Media Isn't Prepared
Going by the recent posts made by users on 'X', it is clear that as much as they want to tune in to IPL, they are aware that the airing of Parle Marie adverts is something they cannot simply escape.

Parle Marie Causes Outrage
As viral as the ad became, the repetition of 'Parle Marie" during IPL breaks brought Internet together to fight a common cause: take the ad off air. The chorus only grew louder with time.
'That Parle Marie ad campaign is a brilliant case of pissing people off by getting on their nerves to the point where they'll never forget the brand. It's the next most irritating thing to come out of IPL after jhumping jhapang," wrote one angered viewer.
'I will never ever in my life buy parle Marie biscuits for disgusting and cringe advertisement video," chimed another.
'I know why Parle is doing it but this Parle Marie ad series in the IPL is probably one of the most idiotic/irritating ones. They are giving good competition to mere circle mein aaja cacophony."
'If Parle's goal was to make sure no one ever buys Parle Marie again, that IPL ad is a masterpiece. Mission accomplished."
Marie History Lesson

The recurring Parle Marie ads unwittingly contributed in teaching netizens a very unique lesson in history. Marie is a type of biscuit rather than being Parle's own invention. Made from wheat flour, sugar, palm oil, with a vanilla tinge to it, these tea-dipping, round, and intricate biscuits date all the way back to 1874. Peek Freans Bakery commemorated Russia's Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna's wedding to the Duke of Edinburg with these tea-dunking treats in London.
Initially called Maria, the biscuit's name changed to Marie as it travelled the Europe and became an integral part of Spain's society.

Notable TV personalities like Sunny Leone and Prince Narula were present at the auction, having invested in teams. Mahvash was seen sporting a cream-coloured matching top and skirt set at the event. She also took to Instagram to share some sneak peeks from the auction, highlighting her commitment to her new role as a team owner. To which, the cricketer replied, "No, there's nothing. People can think whatever they want to think." "For the first time, when I was seen with someone, people started linking us right away. Even though she clarified it, it was very hard for her. She was called a homewrecker... people said really nasty things. I felt terrible... We could not step out together," he added Talking about their pictures from a Christmas dinner, Yuzvendra stated that it was blown out of proportion. "We had a Christmas dinner with five people, but the photo was cropped to make it look like just the two of us were on a dinner date. Though Chahal hasn't represented India since August 2023, he continues to be active in domestic cricket and the IPL. 4 Players Lucknow Super Giants Might Release Before IPL 2026 Auction: Mayank Yadav, Akash Deep And...
photoDetails english 2940531 Rishabh Pant was picked by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for a whopping amount of Rs 27 crore in the 2025 IPL auction. However, the 27-year-old Pant failed to live up to the expectations in the IPL 2025 season, scoring just 269 runs in 14 matches in his first stint as LSG captain. Despite his underwhelming performance, LSG are likely to persist with Pant for IPL 2026 season. However, LSG are expected to make strategic realignments before the next season. The Lucknow-based franchise might consider releasing some under-performing players before the IPL 2026 auction and buy some impactful performers. Here's list of players Lucknow Super Giants might release before the IPL 2026 auction: Updated:Aug 02, 2025, 07:06 PM IST 1. Mayank Yadav 1 / 8 Tearaway pacer Mayank Yadav was retained by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for Rs 11 crore before the IPL 2025 season. However, Mayank's performance in the IPL 2025 was severely limited due to injuries. He played only two matches for the LSG and picked two wickets during the season. The young pacer struggled with his consistency and fitness, which reflected in his high economy rate of 12.50. Given his injury prone nature and high salary, LSG might consider releasing Mayank before the IPL 2026 auction and look for another impactful fast bowler. (Pic credit: IANS) Mayank Yadav's IPL Record 2 / 8 During his short IPL career, Mayank has picked 9 wickets in 6 matches with an economy rate of 9.17 so far. (Pic credit: IANS) 2. David Miller 3 / 8 Veteran South Africa player David Miller was signed by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 7.5 crore during the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction in Jeddah. He was given the finisher role in LSG for IPL 2025 but he flattered to deceive, scoring just 153 runs in 11 matches. Given his form, age and salary, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) might consider releasing David Miller before the IPL 2026 auction and buy some another finisher. (Pic credit: IANS) David Miller's IPL Record 4 / 8 David Miller, who has played for multiple teams in IPL, has scored 3077 runs in 141 matches with an average of 35.77 and strike rate of 138.60 so far. (Pic credit: IANS) 3. Akash Deep 5 / 8 India pacer Akash Deep was bought by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for Rs 8 crore in IPL 2025 auction in Saudi Arabia. However, he didn't perform up to the expectations, picking just 3 wickets in 6 matches with a poor economy rate of 12.25 during the IPL 2025 season. Considering his ordinary performance and good salary, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) might consider releasing Akash Deep before the IPL 2026 auction and buy some another pacer. (Pic credit: IANS) Akash Deep's IPL Record 6 / 8 Akash Deep, who is part of the India squad during the ongoing England tour, has picked 10 wickets in 14 matches in his IPL career so far. (Pic credit: IANS) 4. Shahbaz Ahmed 7 / 8 Shahbaz Ahmed, the versatile all-rounder, was bought by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for Rs 2.4 crore in the IPL 2025 auction. However, Shahbaz played just three matches during IPL 2025 season and didn't contribute much with bat and ball. Given the lack of trust in Shahbaz's ability, LSG might consider releasing him before the IPL 2026 auction. (Pic credit: X) Shahbaz Ahmed's IPL Record 8 / 8 Shahbaz Ahmed, a versatile left-handed batter and slow left-arm orthodox bowler, has scored 545 runs in 58 IPL matches so far.
