Oregon Ducks announce tie-dye Grateful Dead-themed game vs. Wisconsin
10.25.25Wear Tie-Dye. @OregonFootball | #GoDucks Every college football season, the Oregon Ducks make waves each and every week by announcing their new uniform combinations and having their fans dress up accordingly. Earlier this offseason, the Ducks announced their weekly color schedule, telling fans when to wear green, yellow, or black. On Wednesday, they updated that schedule, though. While Duck fans were originally told that the colors for Oregon's game on October 25th against the Wisconsin Badgers were to be determined, they finally learned what colors to wear this week. In reality, fans are now encouraged to wear all of the colors. The Ducks announced that Oregon will be holding a special Grateful Dead-themed game against Wisconsin, where fans are encouraged to wear tie-dye. The Dead have played numerous shows at Autzen Stadium before, so the tradition is meaningful for fans of an older generation. It is unclear whether or not Dead and Company will be in attendance for the game, or if a show is to follow, but original members Bob Weir and Mickey Hart, along with John Mayer, will be holding a special residency in San Francisco this August to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Dead. While the fans are to wear tie-dye for the game, it is not clear yet what the team will be wearing, and if the jerseys will be themed for the occasion. Chicago Bears to honor Virginia McCaskey, Steve McMichael in 2025
The Chicago Bears will NOT be wearing alternate or throwback uniforms this they are remembering Virginia McCaskey throughout the entire season with this patch. #Bears The Chicago Bears will honor matriarch Virginia Halas McCaskey and Hall of Fame defensive tackle Steve McMichael with jersey patches during the 2025 season, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Bears chairman George McCaskey told the Sun-Times that the Bears will wear a football-shaped patch with Virginia McCaskey's initials inside for every game this season, starting with next week's preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins. Virginia McCaskey passed away on Feb. 6 at the age of 102. The patch will be placed on player's jerseys above their hearts. The football is orange with navy stitches and a white outline. The navy 'M' is outlined in white and larger than the other two letters — V to the player's right, and H, for Halas, to the left. It's a nod to Virginia's father, George S. Halas, who died on Oct. 31, 1983. The Bears wore a similar patch for the remainder of the season, and it soon became permanent with the "GSH" on the left jersey sleeve which remains to this day. 'We thought it'd be appropriate to have a patch that mirrored her dad's after he passed away,' McCaskey told the Sun-Times. 'It came out great. We like the look of it.' The Bears also will not be wearing an alternate or throwback uniform this season as they remember Virginia McCaskey. The Bears will also honor McMichael, who passed away in April after a battle with ALS, with a decal on the back of their helmets. It will feature a navy football outlined in orange with white laces and his No. 76 in the middle. That same logo will be featured on Soldier Field grass on game day. McMichael was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August 2024, less than a year before his death. The patch The Bears have found a way to honor two important figures in their storied history who passed away this season, and fans will get their first glimpse on Aug. 10 when Chicago hosts the Dolphins for their first preseason game.

Sophie Cunningham in Women of Wrestling? Lakers owner Jeanie Buss wants Indiana Fever star
Sophie Cunningham has proven she doesn't mind getting physical with Indiana Fever opponents this season. That is likely a major reason why Women of Wrestling want Cunningham. According to multiple reports, WOW co-founder, owner and Indianapolis native Dave McLane brought up the Fever star at Comic Con in San Diego on Friday. "I'm from Indiana," McLane said, per The Daily Mirror. "I'm from Indianapolis, and that's the home of not only the second-best basketball team in the country this last year, but the biggest name in professional basketball today, Caitlin Clark. And Caitlin Clark has an enforcer. She's the Marty McSorley to Wayne Gretzky, and she is a stunning athlete. "I flew to Las Vegas and watched them in action against the Aces, and I would love to have Sophia Cunningham in WOW, because she takes down the competition, and she makes sure that Caitlin Clark is safe on the basketball floor. We'd love to have Sophie in WOW." WOW's other co-owner, Los Angeles Lakers controlling owner and president Jeanie Buss echoed McLane's message. "We would love to have (Cunningham) join us at @wowsuperheroes she is talented, dedicated and a fierce competitor!!" Buss tweeted. In June, Cunningham committed a late flagrant foul on Connecticut Sun player Jacy Sheldon. Sun coach Rachid Meziane called the foul unnecessary and "completely stupid." Cunningham was ejected from the game. "I'm not focused on the extracurricular activities, and you know what, during that, it was just part of the game," Cunningham said. "I think the refs had a lot to do with that. It was a build up for a couple years now of them just not protecting the star player of the WNBA. So, at the end of the day, I'm going to protect my teammates, that's what I do, and I'm a team player." In July, Cunningham could only joke about what she believed was an obvious missed call in another game against the Sun. Cunningham fought through contact to set a screen for Aliyah Boston, only to be knocked down by the Sun's Leila Lacan. Referees made no call, and Cunningham asked about it.
