Jaguars' OC Grant Udinski on what it's like working with Travis Hunter

On the latest episode of 'NFL Spotlight' with Ari Meirov, Jacksonville Jaguars' offensive coordinator discussed what it was like working with Travis Hunter, who is playing both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. "He's been an injection of energy into not just the offense, but I think the team," Udinski said. "What you see on TV of him dancing around or bringing the juice and all of that energy to practice, that is genuine. That's the real deal right there. Advertisement "He's a lot of fun to be around, not only because he brings that energy but because he is a football guy in the sense that he loves football, wants to be great, willing to work, wants to talk about things, wants to go over things." Since arriving in Jacksonville, Hunter has been in both the offensive and defensive meeting rooms, learning both playbooks and the terminology of each scheme. But on the practice field, most of Hunter's playing time up to this point has come at wide receiver. That was the plan from the start, and GM James Gladstone added recently that the team views cornerback as Hunter's more natural position. I would also add that the team likely wanted Hunter to get a jump start on what is a robust playbook under Liam Coen. Advertisement The next step for Hunter in his progression will be practicing on both offense and defense regularly during the same practice. For most of OTAs and minicamp, Hunter was either on offense or defense on a given day. Now, how exactly Coen and the Jaguars plan to divvy up those practice reps for Hunter remains to be seen. "Like Liam said," added Udinski, "I know he's mentioned it multiple times, he can run all day. So he's out there excited about practice, and he's practicing hard for the entire time he's practicing. That's exciting for me as a coach to be a part of that to let alone have a guy like that to get to work with. "I'm excited about the challenges of splitting time between offense and defense and the many different roles that he'll play on our team and if there's a guy that can do it, I'm excited about seeing him approach that challenge." One Of NFL's All-Time Passers Finally Retires ... Again?

Quarterback Philip Rivers announced Monday he was retiring as a Charger in perhaps a bit of unfinished business. (Watch his farewell video below.) Rivers, who's sixth all-time in NFL passing yards (63,440) and touchdown passes (421), hasn't played since the 2020 season. He seemed to declare his retirement in January 2021 after he played one season with the Indianapolis Colts ― but who's to stand in the way of a man wanting to formalize his exit with the team on which he became famous? Rivers was a Charger ― in San Diego and Los Angeles ― for 16 seasons, leading the team to the 2008 AFC Championship game before bowing to Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Rivers famously played with a torn ACL in that one. Rivers never played in a Super Bowl, but he racked up super stats in his career. He won 137 career games ― 10th all time and second among quarterbacks who never won a Super Bowl, ESPN reported. He also was an eight-time Pro-Bowler. 'I'm Philip Rivers, quarterback, and I'm retiring a Charger,' he began in a farewell highlight video the team posted Monday. 'I think gratitude, really, is the first thing that comes to mind,' he said. 'There were so many highlights and fun Sundays. So many. But what I miss and what I'm most appreciative and thankful for, are those relationships. The things that were behind the scenes. What you lived every day.' As for the scope of his time in pro football, a choked-up Rivers said, 'Goes fast.' Related... How this former NFL star fumbled a date with Rihanna

The post How this former NFL star fumbled a date with Rihanna appeared first on ClutchPoints. Love was on the brain for this former NFL star, but he fumbled. Matt Leinart recently opened up about how his date with Rihanna failed due to a cosmetic flaw. The former Arizona Cardinals quarterback shared the humbling experience on his Throwbacks podcast, which he co-hosts with Entourage actor Jerry Ferrara. In a conversation with Ferrara and show guest Josh Richman, Leinart shared how he asked Rihanna to a date at Teddy's nightclub in L.A. The date was in fact his third attempt to get the singer on a date, but shared that because of the blister on his lip for staying out in the sun too long, he was embarrassed to look the singer in the eye. Despite feeling uneasy on the date with RiRi, his friends hyped him up to tell him that the blister was no big deal and not to worry about it. While the date ultimately failed anyway, with the singer no longer showing interest in pursuing anything further, he has no regrets, as he was able to meet his wife Josie, whom he later married in 2018. They also share their sons Cannon, 3, and Cayson, 5. The former quarterback also shares his 18-year-old son Cole with his ex-girlfriend Brynn Cameron. Rihanna Relationship with A$AP Rocky While Leinhart and Rihanna didn't end up working out, the singer was also able to start a life with longtime friend-turned-lover, A$AP Rocky. The two began dating in late 2020, after being friends for nearly a decade. The couple now share two children, RZA Athelston Mayers (born May 2022) and Riot Rose Mayers (born August 2023). She is also currently pregnant with their third child. Rihanna previously shared that in 2023 that she loves seeing him as a father. 'I love him differently as a dad. It's a turn on,' she told Page Six at the time. She mentioned in her Harpers Bazaar interview back in February how Rocky reminds her that 'no matter how hard everything is that we're dealing with in our life, in our careers and as parents, he's like, 'Remember when we were friends? Remember when we just used to have fun as friends?'' The singer continued sharing what she loves about the rapper and that she jokingly gets annoyed that Rocky is the favorite for their boys. 'His pureness. His charm. I'm annoyed because my sons sometimes just live for him more than they live for me,' she says. 'And I'm like, 'Did you know who cooked you? Do you know who pushed you out?' And they love him, but when I see it, oh, it's the best.' The feelings are very mutual as the rapper shared back in 2021 that the singer is the 'love of my life.' 'As for what it's like to be in a relationship,' the rapper told GQ during his June/July cover story. 'So much better. So much better when you got 'the One.' She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones.' 'I think when you know, you know,' he added at the time. 'She's the One.'
