David Roberts, chair of North Wales IoD, believes the event spotlighted JCB's innovation and contribution toward Wales' net zero by 2050 target.
He said: "From its latest hydrogen generator technology to its production of gearboxes, axles, and transmissions systems, it's evident that JCB Transmissions is paving the way as a leader in creative, cutting-edge renewable technology.

"Moreover, I think the experience gave guests the chance to understand ways in which they could make more informed investments and the long-term benefits of upskilling members of their respective teams.
"Seeing business leaders and directors attend from across Wales was also very encouraging and I hope they feel more empowered to excel in their industries."
Speaking about Craig, an IoD North Wales Skills Development award winner, David added: "I think there is a lot to learn from his leadership.

Housing association, Bron Afon, was one of 17 companies to take part in a six-month pilot, which concluded with all participants opting to extend the shorter working week. The trial, which began in November, 2024, was organised by the 4 Day Week Foundation and involved nearly 1,000 workers across a range of industries. The aim was to test whether reducing the traditional working week from five days to four would impact productivity and employee wellbeing. Bron Afon, which boasts a workforce of around 400, claimed the results had been overwhelmingly positive. Alan Brunt, chief executive of Bron Afon Community Housing, said: "Almost as soon as we started talking about it, our teams got together to set about making it work which was brilliant. Article continues below "We've closely monitored our performance and customer satisfaction. We're happy with the results so far and will continue to make sure we're delivering for our customers." Nearly two-thirds of workers across all companies involved in the trial reported a reduction in burnout, with 40% saying they had seen improvements in their mental health, while almost half said they felt more satisfied with life overall. Following the 100% success rate, director of 4 Day Week Foundation, Joe Ryle, commented: "With greater knowledge, expertise and experience of what it takes to successfully implement a four-day week, we're really pleased to see such a high success rate. "People are happier, businesses are thriving, and there's no turning back. "We've proved it again and again: a four-day week works and should now be implemented more widely across the economy." Having seen the benefits first hand, Bron Afon is now committed to continuing with the four-day week, with Mr Brunt adding: "I expect that most organisations will be doing this in the next 10 years or so." The campaign's success closely aligns with the results found by a group appointed by the Welsh Government last year. The group, established under the Workforce Partnership Council (WPC), spent a year studying the pros and cons of a four-day working week. The project revealed five major benefits, including: Improved work-life balance: Shorter work hours with no pay-cut help workers better balance work and personal life. Better health: Reduced hours help prevent burnout, lower stress and improve physical and mental wellbeing. Attraction and retention: Boosts recruitment and retention by offering distinctive benefit and effective pay increase (for fewer hours worked). Greater inclusivity: Supports workers with caring responsibilities, fostering a more inclusive workspace. Increased productivity and organisational performance: Due to increased feelings of wellbeing, those who are feeling well rested and happier tend to produce work more efficiently and of higher quality. Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have had to turn to a previous transfer tactic in a bid to help Phil Parkinson's side get deals over the line Wrexham have had to make a U-turn by enlisting their A-list owners to help seal crucial signings as competition in the transfer market heats up. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney sometimes had to get involved in persuading players to join when they first took over the Welsh club in February 2021 due to it being in the National League. Their hands-on approach included charming key targets over the phone, a strategy that paid off with high-profile captures like Paul Mullin from Cambridge United in July 2021. However, with Wrexham riding the wave of success with three back-to-back promotions taking them to the Championship, club director Shaun Harvey revealed in May that the actors' personal approaches were no longer necessary with players now lining up to join. Speaking on the Fearless in Devotion fan podcast, the former EFL chief executive said: "Rob and Ryan do speak to all of them, but it's usually afterwards. Famously, they did speak with Paul Mullin to tell him that they were serious. "When we were in the National League, they did need to become more involved to convince players that this wasn't just a scam. They don't need to get on a telephone call now to tell players that we're serious. "They can see that for themselves. The agents ring us now so we don't need to deploy them as much because of that." But fast forward three months, and with manager Phil Parkinson gearing up to build a squad fit for the second tier, he's revealed the co-owners have already had to reach out to at least one potential summer signing. Speaking to New Zealand news outlet Stuff, he said: "We're looking to sign a player and we've got a lot of competition to get the signature. I spoke to Rob and Ryan about it so they put a call in to the player as well, explained the back story and why we wanted them." While the target's identity remains under wraps, Wrexham have been linked with several high-profile stars this summer. They include Leicester legend Jamie Vardy, Fulham skipper Tom Cairney, and former West Ham pair Aaron Cresswell and Danny Ings. So far, Parkinson has welcomed two new faces during the current transfer window. Plymouth striker Ryan Hardie was the first to join on June 16, while Leicester City goalkeeper Danny Ward signed on Tuesday. Parkinson's plea for Reynolds and McElhenney's involvement comes after Wrexham were warned that replicating their recent triumphs next season will be a tall order. The cautionary note was struck by football finance guru Kieran Maguire parly due to the presence of numerous billionaire club owners in the Championship. Speaking on the Second Tier podcast, Maguire said: "I think the big issue for them is that you are against some pretty senior citizens. You're up against clubs where the owners have been quite happy to put in £300,000 to £400,000 a week like Steve Gibson at Middlesbrough. "Even the likes of Preston and Milwall, they've been losing £1m a month. All of a sudden it becomes a completely different beast. Swoon, formerly situated in Duke Street Arcade across from Cardiff Castle, has shut its doors with no plan of reopening. The gelato chain has stores across England and opened its first shop in Wales in the city centre in 2023. Recently featuring on the BBC Good Food's list of the best ice cream parlours in the UK Swoon in Cardiff was commended for its Italian-influenced flavours and seasonal specials that "lure regulars back in." An employee at Swoon confirmed the closure of the Cardiff store saying "there are no plans to reopen it".
