Anthony Mackie hails 'beautiful human' Malcolm-Jamal Warner
The actor died, aged 54, from accidental drowning on July 20, and Anthony has now paid a glowing tribute to his showbiz pal, who was best known for playing Theodore Huxtable on The Cosby Show.
The Hollywood star told People: "I'm proud to say Malcolm-Jamal Warner was a friend of mine."
Anthony recalled having lots of memorable conversations with the late actor.
Anthony - who is, perhaps, best-known for playing Sam Wilson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - said: "He's somebody that I knew and spent time with, and just was such a beautiful human being.
"And every time I was around him, I was able to take full advantage of those conversations and that time. That, for me, is the most important thing."
In July, Stevie Wonder admitted that his "heart is broken" following the actor's death.
The 75-year-old singer admitted to feeling devastated by the news.
He told TMZ: "My heart is broken because not only was he a talented man growing up and doing The Cosby Show, but even more important his commitment was telling the story, the truth.
"And for me, in a time where we have so many in high places telling low-down lies, we need the truth. So yeah, I miss him.
"I hope that the writers, the singers, rappers will begin to spread messages of positivity, of hope, and us moving this world forward. I'm quiet, but my heart is hurting."
The music icon went on to make a cultural comparison between the late actor and West African traditions.
He said: "I don't know if you know what a 'grio' is, a 'griot.' It's like the African who told the stories in the various villages would have the griot. Whenever a griot would die, it would be like a whole library of information burning."
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary: "An African tribal storyteller and musician is called a griot. The griot's role was to preserve the genealogies and oral traditions of the tribe."

A Formerly Thankless Job The government said on Friday that the labor market had weakened as employers pulled back on hiring. One news outlet said the numbers were the worst since the pandemic. On Monday, Stephen Colbert said that President Trump had 'taken us back to Covid now.' 'That explains why he's growing sourdough starter around his ankles.' — STEPHEN COLBERT 'When he heard about this employment crisis, Trump sprang into action and fired the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics. No! No, you fool! Now there's one less job! Don't you see? You fell into her trap.' — STEPHEN COLBERT 'But it makes sense. Truman and Nixon both added bowling lanes, and Jimmy Carter famously added a sex dungeon.' — STEPHEN COLBERT 'That's right, President Trump spoke about his proposal to build a ballroom on the White House grounds next to the Executive Mansion and added, 'It'll be near it but not touching it' So kind of like him and Melania.' — SETH MEYERS The Bits Worth Watching John Oliver demystified deferred prosecution agreements and how they're helping corporations get away with misconduct on Sunday's 'Last Week Tonight.' WWE Raw Results August 4, 2025: 5 Takeaways From Post-SummerSlam Show
The Raw after SummerSlam was like the episode to tie up any loose ends following two epic nights at MetLife Stadium. There were two title matches, but no new champions were crowned. Still, there was a lot uncovered. Here are the five biggest takeaways from Raw after SummerSlam 2025. Seth Rollins Names His Faction and Shows Us He's Healthy Seth Rollins is in excellent physical condition—at least visually—and he worked a pretty physical match against LA Knight in the show's main event to prove it. More on that later, but Rollins also named his faction. He, Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed will be known as The Vision. I'd expect merch to land sometime very soon. The show-opening promo from Heyman and Rollins was stellar, though it was interrupted by a clumsily executed rant from Knight. For a guy whose persona is built on one-liners, he gets tongue-tied an awful lot. In any case, he's still majorly over with the fans, and boy is he underrated as an athlete and in-ring performer. The match was decent, and there is likely more to come between him and Rollins later this Lynch is the Greatest Female Wrestler Ever, It's Official Lynch said it during her mic session on Monday, and as she mentioned, a writer for Sports Illustrated said it: she is the greatest female wrestler of all time. For a while, I held that title for Charlotte, but watching Lynch make the most of every position she's in has pushed The Man to the top of the list for me. Lynch is owning this IC title reign, and she destroyed Nikki Bella on the mic on Monday. We've heard a lot of references to Bella's past relationship with John Cena over the years, but Lynch dropped an absolute nuke that seemed to legitimately get under Nikki's skin. Very rarely will you see a bar dropped that elicits the 'holy s###' chant from fans, but this one deservedly did. Take a look at this video. Lynch is doing her job. She is elevating the women's IC title like Gunther did for the men's version, and that's the other thing that has pushed her to the top of my Addressed Brock Lesnar's Return WWE didn't go into great detail, but Michael Cole did read a statement from WWE CEO Nick Khan and CCO Triple H in which they told fans that they called Brock Lesnar a few weeks ago and told him, 'it's time for you to come home.' As you saw on Sunday night, Lesnar took them up on the offer, and his presence immediately delivered what was arguably the pop of the Lee is Coming Back, the Groundwork is Being Laid Did you catch what Lynch said in her mic work? She said, 'me and my hot husband are the greatest wrestling couple of all time.' Rollins is embroiled in a major feud with CM Punk, who is married to…AJ Lee. There is no way WWE will resist the urge to offer Lee an outrageous amount of money to main event Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, or WrestleMania in a mixed tag-team match with her husband vs. Lynch and Rollins. That match is big enough to main event any WWE show, and I have to believe it is coming over the next six to eight Threat is Upcoming for Clash in Paris Before any of that happens, it seems like we're looking at a Triple Threat match for Clash in Paris. Rollins is seemingly on pace to defend his World Heavyweight title against Knight and Punk. The latter interrupted the main event match, and that usually means all three men will wind up battling soon. It's a cool main event, but it doesn't seem like a match that will see Rollins drop the title. They're pushing the 'Absolute Power' concept for The Vision, and it would be weird to have him drop the title less than 30 days after winning it.

'Shrinking' Star Pens Heartbreaking Tribute to Beloved Family Member: 'Trying to Fill the Crater He Left'
'Shrinking' Star Pens Heartbreaking Tribute to Beloved Family Member: 'Trying to Fill the Crater He Left' originally appeared on Parade. Shrinking star Ted McGinley wrote an absolutely gut-wrenching post on Monday, August 4, about losing beloved family member Fiddy, his beautiful dog. It is especially poignant because McGinley and his wife Gigi Rice were displaced from their home in the Palisades fire earlier this year, and their pup won't get to return. "Just recently, I posted something about two buddies dreaming of getting back into their home after the Palisades Fire…One of us…Never will :( We lost him Sat Morning. How can something so tiny be so huge. Trying to fill the crater he left us. If you know…you know. Ouch. Best friends…just not forever." The other post the actor is referring to is from July 3, when he posted a photo of himself with Fiddy in their backyard and wrote, "After the Palisades Fire…two buddies return to lay on the warm stones in their back yard. My Co-Mayor of the Palisades, wife Gigi Rice and I wish you a happy 4th of July. (Early). Good to dream about being home again someday."In the comments announcing Fiddy's death, McGinley's Shrinking co-star Michael Urie wrote, "Love you, Ted," and the show's costume designer Allyson B. Fanger wrote, "Omg TEDDDDDDD so sorry FIDDY and you will forever be together in your hearts ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ so sorry he was v special and v loved . He had a good life❤️😇🐾🌈✨sending love 💔." Shrinking writer Ashley Nicole Black added, "I'm so sorry, Ted. Sending love." Chef Sloan Rinaldi wrote, "God bless his soul🐾🙏🏻🐾. It's just never long enough. The most unconditional love. 🐾❤️🐾." And one fan added, "So sorry to see this 😢 Glad we get the time and memories w/ them, but our #furbabies always seem to go too quickly 💔."On January 9, McGinley and Extra host Billy Bush took a video of the devastation in the Palisades when they went together back to McGinley's home to try to salvage his wife's artwork. Gigi Rice is a former actress who is now a painter; according to her website, she opened a gallery with her friend Alice Hernandez-Gaona in 2014. McGinley has starred on such iconic TV shows as Dynasty, Hope and Faith, Married With Children and most recently Shrinking. Shrinking returns later this year for its third season on AppleTV+; it co-stars Harrison Ford, Jason Segel, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams and it has added the legendary in a "major" role for the third season. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 'Shrinking' Star Pens Heartbreaking Tribute to Beloved Family Member: 'Trying to Fill the Crater He Left' first appeared on Parade on Aug 5, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Aug 5, 2025, where it first appeared.
