Scottie Scheffler, admitted Cowboys fan, would do unthinkable for Super Bowl win
With great power come great resposibility, and with great responsibility comes sacrifice. In a surprising revelation that blends sports royalty with personal sacrifice, the world's top golfer and known Cowboys fan Scottie Scheffler, would trade one of his major championships for a Dallas Cowboys' Super Bowl victory.
Little to no hesitation existed in his answer showing the world how deep his love for the team runs but a real conversation would have to take place if the price were to go up to two major championships.
For those keeping count, Scheffler recently won the Open Championship (often referred as The British Open) pushing his count to four major wins.
The 2022 and 2024 Masters Champion was born in New Jersey but his family moved to Dallas when he was six-years old citing the 9/11 attacks as one of the reasons for the relocation. He still resides in the city with his wife and son.
In an interview before the 2024 NFL season with Pardon My Take, Scheffler's response to his feelings entering the year reflect similarly to many fans about the Cowboys on social media.
Typically I go into every year with a ton of hope and get crushed. - Scottie Scheffler on Pardon My Take (2024)
Many fans have expressed the roller coaster feeling the Cowboys season usually puts them through and although fans have endured a rash of heartbreaking endings, the beginning of the ride usually brings everyone back for more.
But the first game will start and I'm gonna think 'They're gonna win every game this year.' I'm that Cowboys fan who says 'We're gonna win the Super Bowl, we're gonna go the playoffs,' and it just never even comes close to happening. - Scottie Scheffler
Aspirations and expectations aside, for the world's No. 1 golfer, a Cowboys Super Bowl Victory would be just as sweet as another green jacket.

Titans waive Treylon Burks after franchise-haunting trade
More than three years after the fact, the A.J. Brown trade keeps getting worse for the Titans. The Titans announced Monday that wide receiver Treylon Burks, whom the team selected No. 18 overall after acquiring the pick as part of the Brown trade, has been waived. Burks was waived with injury designation after hurting his collarbone during practice on Saturday, and if he clears waivers, he'll wind up back on Tennessee's injured reserve. AP The Titans drafted Burks out of Arkansas with the hope that the 6-foot-2, 225-pound wideout could eventually replace Brown, who already had one Pro-Bowl appearance and two seasons with more than 1,000 receiving yards under his belt. Instead, Burks never proved himself to be an impactful NFL player. Advertisement He hauled in 444 yards for one touchdown his rookie year, but notched just 221 yards in 2023 and missed most of the 2024 season with an ACL injury. The Titans signed former University of Tennessee wide receiver Ramel Keyton to fill Burks' roster spot. Tennessee dealt Brown to the Eagles on the night of the 2022 draft in exchange for the No. 18 pick (Burks) and the 101st overall selection, which they traded. 3 Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks (16) makes a catch during minicamp at Nissan Stadium. In his three seasons in Philly, he has accumulated 4,031 receiving yards and hauled in 25 touchdowns. Frustrated Titans fans took to social media at the news of Burks' getting waived, with many teeing off on then-general manager Jon Robinson. 3 A.J. Saquon Barkley Reacts to Young Eagles Star's Shocking Accomplishment
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. As July winds down, the NFL continues to reveal its annual Top 100 list heading into the 2025 NFL season. Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley hasn't been mentioned just yet, but the star running back has been involved in plenty of commentary so far. This week, Barkley had a chance to discuss one of his young teammates, Cooper DeJean, who was shocked to crack the NFL's Top 100 list after just one year in the league. "I'm in the Top 100? Really?" DeJean said with genuine shock. "That's uh.. I mean, I don't even know what to think. That's pretty cool." Eagles linebacker Zack Baun lit up with a smile when he found out in the next scene of the video reveal. "Let's go!" the veteran linebacker said. MoreAs for Barkley, he discussed the most impressive factors that DeJean possesses. "The most impressive thing about Coop is just the way he goes to work. The way he preps his body for practice," said the All-Pro rusher. "You go into the weight room, and he's in there first. He came in, and when things got rolling, he never looked back." NFL Top 100 Players of 2025:@Eagles CB Cooper DeJean makes his debut at No. 60! @NFLFilms — NFL (@NFL) July 28, 2025 Although DeJean didn't become an immediate starter for the Eagles during his rookie season, the team realized he was too good to be stashed away. There came a point in time when DeJean was relied on to make some major plays for the Eagles, and he delivered. As a rookie, DeJean had a viral moment where he laid down an open-field tackle against the Baltimore Ravens' power back, Derrick Henry. While that was his most memorable regular-season play, Barkley and Baun pointed to a situation against the Cincinnati Bengals, where DeJean chased the star receiver Ja'Marr Chase around pre-snap before making an impressive tackle to prevent any gain. Of course, the video montage was capped off with DeJean's most famous play to date: A pick-six against Patrick Mahomes on the Super Bowl stage. "I don't think there's a better way to celebrate your birthday than one of the biggest pick-sixes in the Super Bowl history," Barkley finished. DeJean's biggest contribution of the 2024 NFL season was the first interception of his career. The Eagles were putting together a dominant defensive performance against the Kansas City Chiefs, and DeJean's interception ignited the fire. He finished the 2024 NFL season with 51 tackles, six pass deflections, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries during the regular season. In the playoffs, DeJean registered 18 tackles, four pass deflections, one fumble recovery, and an interception for a touchdown. Trevon Diggs expects to return to the field by September
Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs' 2025 season appeared in doubt after he underwent chondral bone graft surgery on his left knee Jan. 23. The surgery transplants pieces of bone tissue into the joint to stimulate growth. Diggs, thought, always had the season opener circled on his calendar. He might not make it back by Sept. 4 for the first game against the Eagles, but Diggs is ahead of schedule in his rehab and hopes to be on the field sometime in September. Diggs told Clarence Hill of All City DLLS he will not need to be placed on the reserve/physically unable to perform list, which would keep him out at least four games. He missed six games with his knee injury last season. The Cowboys docked Diggs $500,000 for not rehabbing at the team facility enough, but he credits his team in South Florida for getting him back quicker than expected. The two-time Pro Bowler tore the anterior cruciate ligament in the same knee during a Week 3 practice in 2023.
