Tommy Lee and Brittany Furlan's Marital ‘Issues' Run ‘Much Deeper' Than Her Catfishing Scandal

Yahoo23-05-2025
Tommy Lee and estranged wife Brittany Furlan split amid her confession to being a victim of catfishing. A source exclusively tells Life & Style that the duo's marriage had much "deeper" issues prior to the online affair scandal involving a Ronnie Radke imposter.
"Tommy and Brittany are going through it. Their marriage wasn't perfect before, but it did come to a head with her catfishing drama," the insider reveals. "Tommy felt betrayed and just lost it and now they're separated."
"They were already having issues. It's clear there were some secrets and deception before," the source continues.
"This whole thing is embarrassing for Brittany, and Tommy says he just needs time to figure things out. Bottom line, their issues were much deeper than Brittany chatting with a wannabe Ronnie Radke. Hopefully they'll work things out," the insider says.
The former Vine star, 38, confirmed in a TikTok video on May 17 that the pair were no longer living together. Brittany revealed that she was involved in an online affair that turned into a catfishing scandal involving someone pretending to be Falling in Reverse lead singer Ronnie, 41.
'Obviously, I'm in a hotel right now. I've been going through a really tough time in my marriage, which was none of anyone's f--king business, but he's made it everyone's business,' Brittany said at the start of the seven-minute video while referring to Ronnie.
"Basically, I told my husband everything,' Brittany said to viewers about Tommy, 62. "I said, you know, 'I've been talking to whoever I thought this was on Snapchat — he says it's not him, cool, whatever — 'cause I'm a good person. I mean, I'm not a good person for talking to someone while married. I've been going through a lot in my marriage. No excuse, whatever."
"There's no excuse, but I came clean. I'm a good person," she added about revealing the catfishing to Tommy.
Ronnie shared a TikTok and Instagram video on May 12, where he called out "gullible people." He shared his correct social media accounts along with ones that weren't him, adding how he's "never had a Snapchat."
"Y'all can't be so damn dumb please," Ronnie wrote in the caption while discussing how many women had been catfished into believing they were talking to him online.
He didn't name Brittany at the time, but she revealed that the person who she believed was Ronnie had been in contact via Snapchat.
Ronnie claimed Tommy had threatened him after believing it was him that Brittany was corresponding with. He said he went public about the Pennsylvania native catfishing claims after the musician had been hounding him.
'The only reason why I made it public is because your husband won't stop yelling at me,' Ronnie told viewers in an Instagram video on May 18. 'Imagine you grow up looking up to someone like Tommy Lee and then all of a sudden out of nowhere he's like, 'You're f--king my wife!' And I'm like, 'What?! I have no idea what you're talking about!' Both of you came into my life for no reason."
The Mötley Crüe drummer hinted about the scandal on May 16, sharing an Instagram post that simply asked, "Who's been catfished?"
Tommy also seemingly intimated at issues with Brittany in an Instagram video on May 15. He was seen in a recording studio listening to a music track he recorded.
"Ironically, I've been working on this song called 'Stupid Girl.' Wow," he cryptically told viewers, shaking his head seemingly in disbelief.
"Everything has its place and time and this one hits it right on the head Stupid girl!" he wrote in the caption.
Fans quickly picked up on how the post might be about Brittany, with at least one person noticing that Tommy had unfollowed his wife on Instagram.
Additionally, the "Girls, Girls, Girls" musician shared several reflective Instagram Reels on Monday, May 19, following Brittany's public catfishing confession.
In one, Indian guru Sadhguru explained, "If you love somebody, you should have no opinion – that's what love means. Love means you are willing to nurture another life, without forming opinions – that's what love means. We have loved ones, we have strong opinions each other – no, that means you are trying to fix life."
A second Reel said, "You can offer all the light and love in the world, but if someone hasn't ventured into their own shadows, they will only be able to meet you on the surface."
Tommy then shared an Instagram Story that read, "Due to personal reasons, I'll be turning things up a f--king notch," although he hasn't yet revealed what that entails.
Brittany is Tommy's fourth wife. He was previously married to Elaine Starchuk from 1984 to 1985. Tommy wed Heather Locklear in 1986, divorcing in 1993. His third marriage was to Pamela Anderson, which lasted from 1995 through 1998.
Tommy and Brittany started dating in 2017 despite a 24-year age difference. They got engaged on Valentine's Day in 2018. The duo married on year later on February 14, 2019.

NASCAR legend and Bay Area rap pioneer reportedly linked by unexpected hobby

NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon and rap legend Mac Dre were in a Bay Area breakdance crew together as teenagers, according to local rapper Baby Bash. The 'Suga Suga' rapper, whose real name is Ronald Ray Bryant, claims that he attended Springstown Junior High School with Gordon and Mac Dre, in Vallejo, where the three men grew up. 'Here they are in the Springstown Jr High Yearbook together,' he posted to Instagram on Tuesday, July 1, along with a black and white photo of a yearbook page that includes Gordon on the second row and the 'Feelin' Myself' rapper, whose real name was Andrew Louis Hicks, in the bottom right corner. 'Odd couple right?? Lol but its Real Facts!!' Though there is not currently a Springstown Junior High in Vallejo, a Springstowne Middle School previously operated at 2833 Tennessee St. In 2011, the Vallejo City Unified School District restructured its schools, relocating Springstowne Middle School to the former Hogan High School campus at 850 Rosewood Ave. The school was subsequently renamed Hogan Middle School. The original Tennessee Street site is now occupied by Vallejo Charter School. It is unclear if Springstowne Middle School is the same institution that Bryant was referring to on Instagram, but the timeline and location suggest a possible connection. Bryant also noted in the comment section of his post that he was not in the photo because he was a grade above Hicks, who was a highly influential pioneer of the hyphy movement, and Gordon, who was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2019. 'I got stories for days,' he added. Gordon retired from racing full-time in 2015, in part due to the physical toll the sport took on his body. Mac Dre died in 2004 after he was fatally shot by an unknown individual while traveling with his crew. The Chronicle has reached out to Gordon and Baby Bash for comment. Bryant first drew attention to Gordon and Mac Dre's unique connection in March 2024, sharing a composite image of the two men to Instagram overlaid with the text 'What do Mac Dre & Jeff Gordon have n common? (Besides both from Vallejo). They were both in a breakdancing group in the 8th grade called 'unique street dancers' facts.' While Gordon has yet to officially confirm Bryant's claim, he did speak about his hip-hop past in a recently resurfaced 2016 conversation Oakland native Sway Calloway on Eminem's SiriusXM hip-hop station, Shade 45. 'At school with my friends, yo, I was breakdancing and listening to hip-hop,' Gordon said during the interview in promotion of his autobiography, 'Jeff Gordon: His Dream, Drive & Destiny.' He also revealed that his breakdance name was Baby Smurf, noting that he even had a jacket with the name on it. 'I was like on the ground spinning … my back is old these days,' he said, pulling out a few moves with his arms while seated during the radio interview. Since retiring, Gordon has served as vice chairman of Hendrick Motorsports, continuing to work within the world of racing. He briefly returned to race in 2016 as a substitute for Dale Earnhardt Jr., who was suffering concussion symptoms.

Balenciaga slammed for selling iconic Puma sneakers that look like they ‘got run over by construction vehicle' for $685

Balenciaga is once again selling something that looks distressed and old for a dollar amount that your average person would most likely never want to spend. The designer label has teamed up with shoewear brand Puma to create a ratty-looking version of the beloved Speedcat sneaker. The iconic 1999 flat-sole sneaker — which was originally meant to be a Formula 1 racing shoe —normally retails for around $100. But once the brand slapped Balenciaga's name on the tongue and sides, peeled off the Puma label to make it look worn out and added some grunge to it — this collab version of the sneaker will set you back $685. These shoes look like they've seen better days. Jam Press/Balenciaga The branded pair comes in a variety of colors for bougie customers to choose from. The collaboration launched late last month, and it was revealed as part of Balenciaga's winter 2025 collection. The celebrity-loved brand is aiming to put a fresh spin on Puma's most popular shoe styles, according to WWD. @hypebeast posted a TikTok video showing off the shoes — and the commenters did not hold back with their opinions. 'did you find these at the thrift store?' joked one person. 'Another scam from balenciaga for rich people, love that!' someone else sarcastically wrote. 'note to self: never Collab with Balenciaga unless u want a shoe that got run over by every kind of construction vehicle,' quipped another commenter. Balenciaga has made a name for itself with its 'ratty' looking releases. Jam Press/Puma That last comment might have some truth to it, considering this isn't the first time Balenciaga has come out with designs that made the public scratch their heads. For this past Valentine's Day, the Spanish fashion house released a $595 tattered tee and a zip-up hoodie that had destroyed hems and distressed seams for $1,190. Even the collection's color options are bizarre: 'dirty white' or 'super faded washed black' As expected, people online had something to say. Another Instagram user called people 'crazy' for 'thinking this is luxury fashion wear.' 'Tax anyone who can afford this,' said one person. 'Giving Shein,' someone wrote. 'Some of these brands have just been trolling us. I swear,' someone else chimed in.=

Gen Z diners tripped up by common menu pricing abbreviation — and wind up slapped with $160 bill

Talk about a pricey 'POV.' Three Gen Z sisters got a not-so-tasty surprise when they ordered steak at a coastal North Carolina restaurant — only to realize too late what 'MKT' on the menu actually meant. Spoiler: it doesn't mean 'Marked down' — it means 'market price.' Advertisement In a TikTok video that's racked up more than 19 million views, Aribella Menold, 20, and her siblings shared their shock after ordering dinner at Moonrakers, a white-tablecloth waterfront joint in Beaufort. 'POV: You didn't know what 'mkt' meant on the steak menu and now you're paying for it,' the caption read as the camera panned to their stunned expressions and the $159.14 bill. The sisters had unknowingly racked up a hefty tab that included two 12 oz New York strip steaks for $52 each, a $28 baby kale Caesar salad with an extra $11 for grilled chicken, a $10 kid's grilled cheese and a $3 Sprite — proving once and for all that even salads can be a financial ambush. Advertisement Their subtotal came to $145 with a 3% credit card surcharge that added an additional $4.35 and the 6.75% sales tax tacked on another $9.79. 'We thought the price was going to be like $20-$30,' Menold told Newsweek. Turns out, 'MKT' is restaurant shorthand for 'market price,' a cryptic code used for items that fluctuate based on availability, seasonality and ingredient cost — usually seafood or steak. In other words: if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it. Advertisement Menold's video, originally posted to Instagram and then to TikTok, blew up overnight. Luckily for the sisters, their wallets were spared the full damage. 'Our grandpa ended up paying for it, which was so sweet of him,' Menold explained to the outlet. The sisters unknowingly feasted their way to a fat bill totaling $160. Aribella_Menold/TikTok But the internet had thoughts — and no shortage of them. Advertisement '$160 is not bad if you divide the bill by three, each person pays 53 dollars which is good,' one commenter shrugged. Another gasped, 'That's like 53-55$ each girl is spending on dinner. That's wild tbh.' Others zeroed in on the leafy green culprit: 'Okay but a salad being 28 dollar [s] is diabolical.' Still, some blamed the staff for not stepping in: 'Honestly shame on your server for not informing you of the price when it's clearly not listed. One complaint and all of my old bosses would have ripped me a new one for not informing the guest and probably make me pay out of pocket for it.' A separate TikTok user offered this sage advice: 'Unless you're rich, don't buy items off a menu if they don't have a price.' Lesson learned: when dining out, always ask the price — or bring your grandpa. As The Post previously reported, a whistleblowing ex-staffer at California's now-closed Automat claimed those feel-good 'living wage' fees slapped on your bill are nothing but a tip-toeing façade. Advertisement 'If you see a restaurant charging a 'cost of living,' 'equal pay' or 'mandatory service fee' like the 20% this restaurant did, be suspicious,' Jordan Smith explained in an Instagram story post shared by Eater San Francisco. 'It's possible the back-of-house teams aren't seeing much of that money,' he continued regarding the non-server crew. Meanwhile, a ticked-off diner went viral last month after posting a receipt showing a mandatory 'living wage fee' — and the internet lost its appetite. Turns out 'MKT' is just fancy menu-speak for 'market price' — a slippery little code used for steaks, seafood and other dishes that change with the tides and the supply chain. nicoletaionescu – Advertisement Tipping rules may differ coast to coast, but here in NYC, the law's pretty clear: 'Restaurants cannot charge a surcharge or other fee in addition to listed food or beverage prices,' per the city's Consumer and Worker Protection rules. However, they can 'charge a bona fide service charge — but only if the charge is conspicuously disclosed to consumers before food is ordered.'
