Prime Video's new romantic drama movie looks like the perfect summer watch — and we just got the first trailer

Tom's Guide16-07-2025
Looking for a new romance to sweep you off your feet? Prime Video looks set to have you covered this August with the streaming service's next original movie — and we've just been treated to a trailer.
The movie in question is "The Map That Leads To You." Based on the novel of the same name by J.P. Monniger, Lasse Hallström's movie sees a chance vacation meeting with Jack (KJ Apa, "Riverdale") changing Heather's (Madelyn Cline, "Outer Banks") life in ways she never thought possible.
The trailer sets up the duo's respective travel plans, teases their train meet-cute, and then shows us scenes from their life-changing travel plans.
While I'm not familiar with the novel it's based on, I'm happy to have my heart warmed by a feel-good film, and this teaser has my interest piqued, as Cline and Apa look to have solid chemistry together.
That said, it also suffers from the trailer problem of maybe showing a little too much of the story. Regardless, you can look forward to watching the streamer's new romance soon.
That's because "The Map That Leads To You" will start streaming exclusively on Prime Video from Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
If you've not read the book, Amazon's released a synopsis for "The Map That Leads To You," so you know what to expect.

It reads: ""The Map That Leads To You" follows Heather (Cline), a young woman setting off on an adventure across Europe with her best friends before settling into her perfectly planned life. When she crosses paths with Jack (Apa), a magnetic and mysterious stranger, their instant spark ignites an emotional journey neither of them expected. As their connection deepens, secrets, life choices, and hidden truths will test their bond — and change her life in ways she never imagined. From director Lasse Hallström (Dear John, Safe Haven) comes this adaptation of JP Monninger's novel about love, destiny, and the courage to choose your own path."
In addition to Madelyn Cline and KJ Apa, "The Map That Leads To You" also stars Sofia Wylie, Madison Thompson, Orland Norman, Josh Luca, Eva García Montiel and Giuseppe Schillaci.

7 hidden Roku tricks every user should know

Your Roku does way more than just stream Netflix and Hulu. Beneath its familiar interface lies clever features and shortcuts that can improve your streaming experience in surprising ways. Most people never discover these lesser-known tricks, missing out on convenient tools that save time and frustration every day. Some features help you navigate more efficiently, while others solve common problems you didn't even realize had solutions. There are also hidden settings that protect your privacy and secret screens that aren't mentioned anywhere in the official documentation. Whether you're a longtime Roku user or just got started, these hidden features will improve your experience with one of the best streaming devices. Instead of managing separate watchlists across Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, and every other streaming service, Roku lets you create one master list that works across all services. Use the Roku OS to search for shows and movies you want to watch, then select Add to Save List on each title's details page. This saves everything to a universal watchlist that you can access by going to the Roku home screen and selecting What to Watch. Your universal list shows everything in one place, making it much easier to decide what to watch next. The physical Roku remote is functional, but your phone can do so much more. Download the Roku Official Remote Control app for iOS or Android and you'll get a full keyboard for easy searching, the ability to stream content directly from your phone, as well as voice search. The app also lets you browse and launch channels without looking at your TV screen. You can type search terms quickly and if you lose the physical remote, your phone becomes an instant backup. The app even shows what's currently playing and gives you playback controls. If your remote has vanished into the couch cushions again, you don't need to tear apart your living room. If you have a remote with a speaker grille, open the Roku app, tap the microphone, and say "Hey, Roku, find my remote." The remote will start beeping so you can track it down. For Roku Ultra devices, just long-press the button on the right side of the device and the remote will beep. If you have a Voice Remote Pro, you can say "Hey, Roku, find my remote" directly to the TV and it will start beeping. Once you find it, press any button to stop the noise. You can even customize the beeping sound in Settings if the default tone isn't loud enough. When friends or family visit, they can use your Roku without messing up your recommendations, watchlists, or personal settings. Go to to set up a PIN, then press the Home button on your Roku remote and navigate to Settings, System, Guest Mode, and Enter Guest Mode. Then enter your PIN and select OK to activate it. Now guests can sign into their own streaming accounts and use the device normally, but their viewing history won't affect your algorithms and they can't see your personal content. Late-night binge-watching doesn't have to wake up your household. If you have a first-generation Voice Remote Pro, you can plug headphones directly into the remote's headphone jack and audio will automatically redirect from the TV to your headphones. For newer remotes without headphone jacks, use the Roku mobile app's Headphone Mode to listen through your phone's headphones or earbuds. The TV audio gets muted while you get full sound through your personal audio device. This works great for apartments, shared living spaces, or when your partner goes to bed early but you want to keep watching. Roku has hidden diagnostic screens can help you troubleshoot problems. These secret screens let you run network speed tests, view detailed system information, check channel installation logs, and perform various resets when your device isn't working properly. You can access these by pressing specific button combinations on your remote or entering special codes. To run a network speed test, press Home 5 times, then Up, Down, Up, Down, Up and you'll get access to speed testing, reset, and logging options. For a soft reset when your Roku is acting up, press Home 5 times, Up once, Rewind twice, and Fast Forward twice and your device will restart without erasing settings. The speed test screen is particularly useful for diagnosing streaming quality issues, showing you exactly how fast your internet connection is performing on the Roku device itself. Tired of being blasted awake by loud commercials or having to constantly adjust volume between quiet dialogue and loud action scenes? To avoid this, press the star button on your remote during playback, then navigate to Sound Settings and Volume Mode. Turn on Leveling to prevent sudden volume spikes from commercials and channel changes. You can also enable Night mode to boost quiet sounds and reduce loud ones, which is perfect for late-night viewing when you don't want to disturb others. For Roku Streambars and Soundbars, you'll find these options under Settings, Audio and Volume Modes instead. I'm 5 Feet Tall, and I'm Eyeing These 11 Petite Midi and Maxi Dresses at Amazon, Nordstrom, and More—From $20

As someone five-feet-tall, I know that shopping for a midi-length or maxi dress that won't drag on the ground is, well, a drag. Either you have to spend time (and money) tailoring it, or do some legwork to find stylish petite options from online retailers, considering the right size is rarely in stores. With a few summer vacations on my calendar, I opted for the latter option and browsed through my go-to petite brands to find flattering dresses that fit my frame perfectly. Naturally, I had to share my findings with my fellow petite shoppers, so I rounded up the best maxi and midi dress options from Amazon, Nordstrom, Anthropologie, and more. From a $29 travel-friendly knit dress to a European-summer-inspired maxi shirt dress, I found styles for every travel itinerary. Keep reading for 11 of my top picks, starting at $20. You'll never catch me in the airport in a dress above my knees, but now and then, I like to throw on a stylish, comfortable midi dress to elevate my travel look. This Gap ribbed knit option is perfect for exactly that, and with a $29 price tag, I immediately added it to my shopping cart. I opted for the olive green shade, which will seamlessly transition into fall, but it is also available in black, striped, and fuchsia. This sleeveless midi dress is effortlessly chic and looks much more expensive than its $35 price tag. The fitted top is made from a comfortable, smocked knit material, and it's paired with a puffed peplum skirt featuring a flattering drop waistline that helps make your torso appear longer—perfect for petite shoppers. Quince is known for its effortless travel clothing, and this midi tank dress is no exception. The travel-ready piece is made from a breathable, soft cotton blend. One five-foot-two reviewer wrote that "the dress is perfect," adding that it's "simple and sophisticated." This light and airy maxi dress captures the art of summer dressing. It is trimmed with lace detailing and features an embroidered design on the bodice. Now, the hard part is deciding between the classic black shade and the cottagecore-inspired indigo. Considering they're both on sale, I might have to snag both! While this midi dress isn't available in petite sizing, it has adjustable spaghetti straps that allow for a customizable fit. The fit-and-flare dress, which can be easily dressed up or down, features a fitted ribbed bodice with a low scoop back and a flowing skirt. This maxi dress features a similar design to the above option, with a fitted, tank top bodice and an airy skirt, but its high neckline provides a bit more coverage. One five-foot-tall reviewer wrote that it's a 'great length,' and added that they 'loved it so much,' they bought a second color. The best part? It's marked down to just $22 right now, so I'm not missing my opportunity to shop it while it's on sale. This Lands' End petite maxi dress is begging to be worn on a tropical vacation, and its airy, lightweight material will help keep you cool on a hot summer day. It features a stretchy, smocked elastic back and adjustable tie straps, providing additional length customization for the petite dress. I'm not headed to Europe this summer, but if I were, I could easily picture myself strolling the cobblestone streets of Paris in this top-rated breezy shirtdress from The shirred elastic waist provides shape to the flowy silhouette, and it comes with a slip lining underneath the subtly sheer overlay fabric. I can already tell this ultra-comfy jersey maxi dress would become one of my staple travel pieces. It features flattering details, such as a smoothing waistband and a deep V-neck. Plus, the pullover design makes it easy to throw on and go, whether I'm catching an early morning flight or making a quick change before dinner. I can't resist a perfectly tailored dress, and this petite Anthropologie number fits the bill. The casual yet elegant shirt dress features eye-catching details, including a classic collar, exaggerated sleeves, and flattering pleats around the bodice. Additionally, the button-up front allows for a customizable look that can be worn as a dress or paired over a pair of shorts and a classic white tee. This top-rated midi dress is made from a summery, lightweight linen material and has a smocked waistband with a tie at the center and capped sleeves. One reviewer raved that it's 'very flattering and comfortable,' and a five-foot-three shopper wrote that 'the length is perfect.' Right now, the midi is an additional 40 percent off, bringing the price down to $84. Love a great deal? The Boys' final season Comic-Con footage shows a safer nation under Homelander

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Every journey has an end, but chances are we won't encounter one as sweary as the final season of The Boys. Amazon's Emmy-winning series, which has mastered turning superheroes into villains, is set to conclude next year, and fans at this year's San Diego Comic-Con were fortunate enough to get a sneak peek of what's coming. Naturally, things don't look promising in this world filled with corrupt crimefighters after members of The Boys were snatched up last season, and Homelander (Antony Starr) seemingly seized complete control of the country, using the U.S. president as his puppet. What will it take to stop the star-spangled psychopath and his plans? Well, help from the younger generation might do the trick, or maybe something supernatural as well. According to a breakdown from Variety, the teaser trailer revealed the usual mix of blood, guts, and questionable liquids, along with some new and familiar faces sprinkled throughout. You know the drill by now, surely? A bloody hairball being thrown up here, a violently unhealthy bathroom trip there. One detail that will excite Supernatural fans, though, is Jared Padalecki showing his loveable mug in the preview, continuing the trend of cast members from showrunner Eric Kripke's previous 15-season show appearing in the Vought-ruled world. Kripke himself confirmed back in May that we would see Padalecki alongside Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy and Misha Collins "all in the same frame together" at some point; we just don't know in what capacity, since Padalecki and Collins' roles still haven't been confirmed. The teaser also hinted at the ongoing crossover between The Boys and its spin-off super-school show, Gen V (whose second season is honestly looking like The Boys season 4.5), thanks to the appearance of one of its model students, Jordan Li (London Thor). Last we saw, they were trapped in an off-the-books facility along with the rest of the rebels in the show's first season, suggesting that they might be helping in the fight back against Vought and its unhinged poster boy here. Speaking of that milk-loving madman, it sounds like Homelander got the real mic drop moment of the teaser, having now taken his new unofficial role as ruler of the country. Declaring the United States as "a safer, more god-fearing nation," we can only expect that things will be anything but by the time the final episode airs. We'll be able to see who gets their cape crumpled and their body in a broken and bloody state when The Boys return to town for the last time in 2026.
