Trump's clarification on 'Iran regime change' divides MAGA further: JD Vance, Hegseth, Marco Rubio 'humiliated'

Time of India23-06-2025
Donald Trump's regime change comment has divided MAGA further.
After President Donald Trump clarified his stance on a 'regime change' in Iran, the MAGA got further divided as those who still sided with the US attack on Iran's three nuclear sites could not approve that the US would now want a regime change in Iran.
Especially after Vice President JD Vance, defense secretary Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed that US was not aiming at a regime change in Iran.
Trump's statement that if the present regime is not Making Iran Great Again, then why its should not be changed came across as a humiliation to his top aides who were privy to US's Operation Midnight Hammer.
'It's not politically correct to use the term, 'Regime Change,' but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn't there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!' Trump wrote on Truth Social.
JD Vance earlier said dropping bombs on Iran's nuclear sites was a tactical move, US is not at war with Iran. "We are at war with Iran's nuclear program," Vance said. 'Well, look, that's up to the Israelis, but our view has been very clear that we don't want a regime change. We do not want to protract this or build this out any more than it's already been built out. We want to end their nuclear program, and then we want to talk to the Iranians about a long-term settlement here.

Rubio said US was not attacking Iranian people. 'This wasn't a regime-change move. This was designed to degrade and/or destroy three nuclear sites related to their nuclear weaponization ambitions, and that was delivered on yesterday,' he said.
Hegseth too said it was not about regime change. "The President authorized a precision operation to neutralize the threats to our national interests posed by the Iranian nuclear program".
Marjorie Taylor Greene says it feels like a complete bait
Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene said Trump's MAGA agenda included no more foreign wars, nor more regime change. "It feels like a complete bait and switch to please the neocons, warmongers, military industrial complex contracts, and neocon tv personalities that MAGA hates and who were NEVER TRUMPERS!" she said.
Right-wing commentator Candace Owens marveled at Trump's use of the expression 'regime change' and said now 'REAL MAGA' would explain to the 'traitors' how resisting Iran's regime change is "woke right".
Another MAGA commentator Alex Jones accused Trump of breaking his promise to the American people and "pushing the planet to the edge of a NUCLEAR WORLD WAR'.

Trump says he's shortening 50-day deadline for Russia to end Ukraine war

US President Donald Trump said Monday he intends to shorten the 50-day deadline he gave Russian President Vladimir Putin to reach a deal that ends the three-year war in Ukraine. His announcement came as Russia fired an overnight barrage at Ukraine of more than 300 drones, four cruise missiles and three ballistic missiles, the Ukrainian air force said. Trump said two weeks ago he would implement severe tariffs on Russia unless a peace deal is reached by early September, as he expressed exasperation with Putin over the bombardment of Ukrainian cities amid the Republican president's attempts to stop the fighting. Trump said he would give Putin 10 to 12 days from Monday, meaning he wants peace efforts to make progress by Aug 7-9. The plan includes possible sanctions and secondary tariffs targeting Russia's trading partners. The formal announcement would come later Monday or on Tuesday, he said. No reason in waiting, Trump said of the shorter timeline. We just don't see any progress being made. Putin has got to make a deal. Too many people are dying, Trump said during a visit to Scotland. Trump repeated his criticism of Putin for talking about ending the war but continuing to bombard Ukrainian civilians. And I say, that's not the way to do it, Trump said. He added, I'm disappointed in President Putin. A Russian drone blew out the windows of a 25-story residential building in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, the head of the city's military administration, Tymur Tkachenko, wrote on Telegram. Eight people were injured, including a 4-year-old girl, he said. The attack also started a fire in Kropyvnytskyi, in central Ukraine, local officials said, but no injuries were reported. The main target of the Russian attack was Starokostiantyniv, in the Khmelnytskyi region of western Ukraine, the air force said. Regional authorities reported no damage or casualties. The western part of Ukraine is on the other side of the country from the front line, and the Ukrainian military is believed to have significant airfields as well as arsenals and depots there. The Russian Defense Ministry said its forces carried out an overnight strike with long-range, air-launched weapons, hitting a Ukrainian air base along with an ammunition depot containing stockpiles of missiles and components for drone production. Trump puts world on notice: 15-20% tariffs for those without US trade deals

US President Donald Trump on Monday said he may impose a blanket tariff in the range of 15 per cent to 20 per cent on imports to the United States from countries that haven't negotiated separate trade deals with Washington."For the world, I would say it'll be somewhere in the 15 per cent to 20 per cent range. I just want to be nice," Trump said in Turnberry, Scotland, alongside UK Prime Minister Keir remarks assume significance as they mark an increase from the 10 per cent baseline tariff the US President announced in April. It could also put economic strain on smaller countries that hoped the tariff rate would be 10 per cent. Earlier this month, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said that smaller nations, including "the Latin American countries, the Caribbean countries, many countries in Africa", would have a baseline tariff of 10 per cent, CNBC Trump said, "We're going to be setting a tariff for essentially the rest of the world, and that's what they're going to pay if they want to do business in the US, because you can't sit down and make 200 deals."Several countries, including India, are still negotiating trade deals with the US ahead of Trump's August 1 tariff deadline. With the deadline approaching, Trump administration officials have suggested that the White House was not "under pressure to have more deals".Currently, India's trade delegation, led by chief negotiator Rajesh Agrawal, is in Washington for planned discussions about a possible agreement. India - a key trading partner of the US - remains one of a handful of nations that is still in talks with the US on week, Trump announced 15 per cent tariffs on Japan, 16 per cent tariffs on Indonesia and 15 per cent levies on the European Union. However, some countries, including Brazil and Laos have imposed tariffs as high as 40 per cent and 50 per cent.- EndsTune InMust Watch IN THIS STORY#Donald Trump#United States of America

Privilege? Donald Trump slammed for saying THIS about Epstein's island. 'There is no coming back'

Donald Trump said he never had the 'privilege' of visiting Epstein island. US President Donald Trump Monday said he never had the 'privilege' of going to Epstein's island, triggering a massive backlash on social media as his political opponents said there is now no coming back from what Trump said. Trump made the statement in Scotland as he was meeting UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. It did not seem that his comment was satirical, as he kept a straight face and was not even laughing. 'I never went to the island, and [former president] Bill Clinton went there supposedly 28 times. I never went to the island, but [former Treasury Secretary] Larry Summers, I hear, went there, he was the head of Harvard. And many other people that are very big people, nobody ever talks about them,' Trump said. 'I never had the privilege of going to his island, and I did turn him down. But a lot of people in Palm Beach were invited to his island. In one of my very good moments, I turned it down. I didn't want to go to his island," Trump added. Trump came under massive fire over the Epstein issue, which did not even leave him in Scotland. Trump explained that he cut ties with Epstein because Epstein was stealing people who used to work for him. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like These Are The Most Beautiful Women In The World Undo 'Never had the privilege' yah the President of the United States is a pedophile of the highest order and should be treated as such," one wrote sharply reacting to Trump's comment. Epstein Island, officially called Little Saint James, is a private island in the US Virgin Islands owned by the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein . It gained global notoriety after Epstein was arrested in 2019 on charges of sex trafficking of minors. In satellite images, the island seems to have a striking striped dome of Middle Eastern-style architecture. Conspiracy theories claimed that it was a temple used for satanic rutials but there was no evidence ever found.
