Caleb Williams doesn't hold back on Packers fans: ‘They suck'
During an appearance at Fanatics Fest on Friday, Williams was asked about negative experiences with fans and mentioned Green Bay before delivering a line that prompted some cheers from the audience.
'I mean, they suck,' Williams said.

Williams, whom the Bears drafted with the top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, won his lone game in front of Packers fans at Lambeau Field during his rookie season, completing 21 of 29 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown during Chicago's 24-22 win.
It snapped a 10-game losing streak for the Bears in 2024 and an 11-game losing streak in the rivalry, though they needed a game-winning field goal in the final seconds after Malik Willis — who took over after Jordan Love exited with an injury — sparked a comeback.

'After the game … we tried to do the Lambeau Leap, tried to jump into the crowd where our fans were,' Williams said at Fanatics Fest. '[Packers fans] just started throwing everything at you, push you off. The Lambeau Leap, it's a real leap. It's not a little baby jump, you actually have to high jump, basically. And they're pushing you, pushing your face.'

Williams also led a 'Green Bay sucks' chant last June at Old Crow Smokehouse, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel — even though he grew up watching the Packers because of now-Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

This season, the Bears and Packers will meet at Lambeau Field in Week 14 before adding another chapter to the rivalry two weeks later at Soldier Field, with Williams perhaps adding another layer to those showdowns with his recent comment.

Chicago hired Ben Johnson as its new head coach in the offseason, and the new-look Bears offense will attempt to help Williams find a consistent rhythm in his second campaign after struggling at times as a rookie — he threw for just 3,541 yards and 20 touchdowns while tossing six interceptions across 17 games.
That led to Matt Eberflus being fired, and the Bears pivoted toward landing Johnson — the mastermind behind the Lions' offense — and setting him up with a scenario to work with Williams, their franchise quarterback.

Congratulations quickly began pouring in for Watt after he finally got his long-awaited contract extension: "Done before camp. Way to go, Omar Khan and company. Watt highest paid pass rusher in football. As expected. #Steelers," one user replied. "He deserves it more than anybody. Best Pass rusher in football and a complete game changer," wrote another. Well deserved!" Despite some speculation that a deal might not get done, there doesn't seem to have ever been any real interest in a parting of the ways between Watt and the Steelers. He's been the face of the franchise since Ben Roethlisberger retired and his defensive dominance has allowed the Steelers to remain as perennial playoff contenders even when their offenses have been downright atrocious. If there was ever a non-quarterback worth backing up the Brinks truck for, it's Watt. That said, the Steelers still have no shortage of questions heading into the 2025 season. Former Ohio State quarterback Will Howard discusses last six months while at ESPYs
To say that it's been a memorable and eventful last six months for former Ohio State quarterback Will Howard would be an understatement. Not only did he realize a couple of childhood dreams by winning a College Football Playoff national championship and by being selected in the NFL draft, but he also appeared on the red carpet at the ESPYs because the Buckeyes were nominated for "Team of the Year." And while OSU didn't win that award, he still got to rub elbows with American sports' royalty and experience all that comes from being a part of the festivities. One other thing Howard has been able to do is learn from future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers after he was signed to lead the Steelers this coming year. Howard -- all decked out in his best -- took some time while at the ESPYs to talk about those things and more while on the red carpet ahead of sitting in the audience in person to watch the annual sports awards show. As he always is, Howard was gracious and engaging in talking about a six-month whirlwind that will undoubtedly be unlike any other in his life. He reflected on his transfer to Ohio State, making a run to the national championship, and what it means to be mentored by Rodgers. Insider reveals surprising nature of T.J. Watt's huge extension with Steelers
Before T.J. Watt turned the NFL world upside down with his three-year, $123 million extension, many believed the contract negotiations would last a little while longer — including insider Mark Kaboly, who was completely caught off guard by the breaking news. According to the longtime Steelers insider, both sides were reportedly at a stalemate leading up to the deal — with little evidence to suggest progress was being made in negotiations. "I'm kind of surprised how quickly it came together because a week ago, actually today, there wasn't much movement, man," Kaboly said on his podcast, Kaboly + Mack. "There wasn't much movement at all. They were pretty far away." Kaboly then listed a variety of contractual disagreements that had kept the Steelers and Watt from reaching the deal — insisting the extension was shocking in nature. "There was years," Kaboly said. "There was the number of guaranteed money. There was overall salary. They still felt they were going to get the job done, but even the wisest person in the Steelers organization couldn't have thought it was going to be this quick." Regardless of how surprising the extension was — or what really happened behind the scenes — it's a welcome relief that Watt and the Steelers can finally put this exhausting situation behind them.
