Kajol says Shah Rukh and Aamir are professionals, but no one matches Salman's star power

The Hindu18-06-2025
In a conversation with Galatta India, Kajol offered insight into the personas of Bollywood's biggest icons — Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan. Having worked closely with all three, the actor praised their commitment but said Salman's star power stands in a league of its own.
Speaking about Shah Rukh and Aamir, Kajol said, 'They deserve all the trophies when it comes to dedication.' She described both as 'extremely professional' and intensely serious about their craft. But when the subject turned to Salman, she said: 'Salman is Salman Khan. You can't argue with that. He's remained the same over the years, and that in itself is incredible.'
Quoting Aamir, she added, 'Salman is definitely a bigger star than me, because no matter how his film performs, it still manages to cross ₹100 crore. And his fans adore him like crazy.'
Even when informed that Akshay Kumar had equaled Salman's record with 18 ₹100 crore hits, Kajol was quick to underline the difference. 'Wow, that's amazing! But when we talk about sheer star power, I think even Akshay would agree, you just can't touch Salman's star power.'
Kajol and Salman have shared the screen in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, and Karan Arjun, that helped define the '90s. Their chemistry in Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya remains a fan favourite.
Kajol will next be seen in Maa, a mythological horror film directed by Vishal Furia, releasing 27 June. Salman recently appeared in Sikandar and has more releases lined up, including a film with Sanjay Dutt and Kick 2.
