First baseman Rhys Hoskins is in his eighth major-league season and second as a member of the Milwaukee Brewers.

The 32-year-old was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the fifth round of the 2014 MLB Draft and made his big-league debut in 2017, finishing fourth in Rookie of the Year voting.
He spent six seasons in Philadelphia and was set to play his seventh in 2023 but tore his ACL in a spring training game against the Detroit Tigers, sidelining him for the entire season and effectively ending his tenure in Philly. In January 2024, Hoskins signed a two-year, $34 million contract with Milwaukee.
Originally an outfielder in Philadelphia, he transitioned to first base in Milwaukee to fill the Brewers' vacancy and accommodate his return from ACL surgery. His move to first base was part of Milwaukee's broader effort to maximize roster flexibility, and Hoskins embraced the challenge.

Through 81 games in 2025, Hoskins has produced a .753 OPS with 12 home runs and 41 RBIs, demonstrating his offensive value in his second season with the Brewers.
Milwaukee currently sits at 49–39, chasing the Chicago Cubs atop the NL Central. Losing Hoskins for an extended period would be far from ideal as the club pursues a fourth division title in five seasons.
