Guardians outfield prospect Chase DeLauter has surgery on his right wrist
DeLauter is expected to miss 6-8 weeks, which means he could be back for the last week or two of the season. He was examined on Tuesday by wrist/hand specialist Dr. Thomas Graham at Jefferson Orthopedics in Philadelphia. An MRI and clinical exam confirmed a hook of the hamate fracture and surgery was recommended.
DeLauter has not played since July 12. He was batting .278 with eight doubles, five homers and 21 RBIs in 34 games at Triple-A Columbus.
The 2022 first-round draft pick reached base in all 34 games he played for the Clippers, which led to some wondering when he might be called up. But DeLauter has struggled to stay on the field. He had three stints on the injured list last year and missed the first couple months of this season because of a sports hernia injury he suffered in spring training.

Broncos linebacker Drew Sanders carted off practice field with right leg injury
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Third-year linebacker Drew Sanders was carted off the Denver Broncos' football fields Saturday after injuring his right leg during drills. Sanders began hopping around right after the play and then went to the ground in pain. Team medical personnel looked at his right foot and ankle before putting him on a cart and taking him inside team headquarters for an MRI.

Phillies' Aaron Nola will make his first minor league rehab start on Thursday
NEW YORK (AP) — Philadelphia pitcher Aaron Nola will make his first injury rehabilitation start Thursday for Triple-A Lehigh Valley at Worcester as he works his way back from a sprained right ankle and fractured rib that have sidelined him since May. Nola threw batting practice on Friday. Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Saturday the 32-year-old right-hander will throw about 60 pitches in the Triple-A game. Nola hurt the ankle during agility drills on May 8. He made a pair of ineffective starts and was placed on the IL effective May 15. Nola threw a bullpen session June 1 and felt sore a few days later. An MRI showed a stress fracture of a rib, Thomson revealed June 10. On the IL for a physical injury for the first time since 2017, Nola was 1-7 with a 6.16 ERA in nine starts and 49 2/3 innings.
