Iskcon Rath Yatra allowed in Anantapur with riders
Since Muharram also falls on the same day, the court directed Iskcon representatives to strictly adhere to the conditions laid down by police to avoid any disruption to public peace.
The division bench comprising Chief Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Cheemalapati Ravi, issued orders noting that the matter pertains to sensitive law and order issue. Earlier, a single-judge bench had allowed Iskcon to conduct the Rath Yatra, but the police challenged that order through an appeal, citing concern over potential law and order problem as Muharram procession and Rath Yatra take place on the same route.
The police informed the court that preparations for the Muharram procession would begin around 2.30 pm, and suggested that Rath Yatra be conducted between 10 am and 1 pm. However, Iskcon representatives stated that they planned to start Rath Yatra at 1 pm and cross the Old City by 2 pm.
Taking note of the sensitive nature of the situation, the High Court said both events should take place under strict adherence to the conditions set by the police to ensure law and order.

'The files related to grants, which are legally approved by you (CM), the finance department, and the secretary of the backward classes welfare department, are being withheld by the minister. He decides who should receive the grants at his own discretion and distributes them through his close associates, enabling corruption. There are also widespread reports that his relatives are operating this corruption network,' Swamiji wrote in the letter. The seer further said that lack of transparency and selective favoritism in grant allocation itself is clear evidence of corruption. 'We were forced to approach the High Court to get justice for the injustice done to our institution,' he added. Highlighting his long association with the Congress party, Poornanandapuri Swamiji reminded Siddaramaiah that he had served as an MLA and as state president of the backward communities' organization back in 1992, along with holding various posts for 35 years. 'Out of loyalty to the party, we did not want to embarrass the government and had already written to the minister on January 20, 2025, informing him about our intention to approach the court if the injustice continued,' the letter stated. Swamiji claimed that he had already brought the issue of alleged irregularities within the backward classes welfare department to the Chief Minister's notice. He requested that the CM take immediate action by removing Shivaraj Tangadagi from the cabinet to prevent further corruption. Issuing a stern warning in his letter, Swamiji said, 'If no action is taken within the next 10 days, we will be forced to initiate legal proceedings under the anti-corruption law against the minister. This is a matter of public trust, and we hope you will take suitable action to protect the dignity of the government.' The allegations have come at a time when the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government is facing increased pressure to maintain clean governance. Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi has yet to issue a statement in response to these serious allegations.

10K additional forces deployed statewide for Muharram
Ranchi: has deployed 10,000 additional security personnel across all the 24 districts to ensure that law and order is maintained during Muharram processions on Sunday. The additional forces consist of seven companies of central paramilitary forces and 4,000 police and home guard jawans each to the districts. IG (operations) Michael Raj said, "Reviewing security arrangements for Muharram on Wednesday, DGP Anurag Gupta issued various instructions. While additional forces were deployed in all districts, districts like Ranchi, Lohardaga, Gumla and Hazaribag were given larger forces for their sensitive nature." While a flag march was held in Ranchi on Saturday, the district administration said control rooms would be set up at composite control room and at Doranda police station. Sub-control centres would be established in five other police stations. The administration plans to deploy static forces at over 250 places across the district to maintain law and order during Muharram. Around one and a half dozen patrolling teams would keep a watch in the city area. Quick reaction teams would be placed at all the PSs in the district. Central Muharram Committee general secretary Akilur Rehman said, "The committee has issued guidelines for movement of processions stating that akhadas must reach the Main Road by 2 pm. Demonstrations with fire and glasses and tableaus which hurts the religious, social and cultural sentiments of other communities is banned." Traffic plan would also be changed in Ranchi for Muharram on Sunday with movement of vehicles being prohibited on many roads.
