'I tested Amazon's top-selling Belissima Styler and the results surprised me'

Daily Mirror15-05-2025
Shopping Writer Meghan has got her hands on this Bellissima Air Styler that's one of Amazon's top-selling hairstyling tools - putting it to the test, she says she 'was not expecting these results'
As someone who was born with naturally very curly hair, I never had to learn how to create curls with heated tools - if I wanted to rock curly hair on any given day, I'd just leave my hair dry naturally and be done.
That said, I've been dipping my toe into the world of hair stylers in recent years, and one I've always been curious about is the iconic Dyson Air Wrap - but they're not known for their affordable price tags, as a typical set retails for £500, so they're not the most feasible choice when it comes to your average budget.
I recently got my hands on this Air Multi Styler from Bellissima. It retails for substantially less than the likes of Dyson and is so popular that it's nearly always sold out on Amazon. The retailer's top-selling air styler is currently up for grabs for the reduced price of £159.99, but it's running incredibly low in stock, so you'll need to be super speedy to snatch one up before it's out of stock again.
If you miss your chance on Amazon or don't mind splashing a tad more cash, you can pick up the same Bellissima Prodigy Air Multi Styler directly from Bellissima (where it's currently up for grabs for the discounted price of £179.99 down from £249.99) or you can shop at Boots, where the set is available for the same price.
Set to be the ultimate air styler for stepping up your hair routine with easy and damage-free hairstyles, the Prodigy comes with an impressive six heads to switch between, offering plenty of versatility when it comes to picking your preferred look. The set includes a handy beauty bag that's ideal for keeping your kit safe and easy to take with you when you travel, and the following six styling options: detangle and smooth (flat brush head), extra wavy (round brush), volumise and straighten (oval brush), two coanda prodigy (curling wands), and gentle dry (a hair dryer attachment).
The air styler also offers plenty of flexibility to best suit your hair and styling needs, as it comes with three fan speeds, three temperatures and a cold blast, which is recommended for locking in your look.
Boasting Hi-Pro Ceramic Technology that promises shiny and glossy hair, without damage, this styler comes armed with a digital motor and digital heat control that ensures five times the pressure of a conventional hairdryer, providing ultra-fast drying while the tool checks the temperature 50 times per second, avoiding heat damage. The gadget also boasts Ion Care Technology, which means you don't have to worry about frizz and flyaways, as it prioritises shinier and smoother locks.
On to my experience with the styler; as I said earlier, I'm not proficient when it comes to hairstyling tools, but this device was surprisingly easy and hassle-free. Yes, it did take me some time to get into a rhythm, but when I was using the Coando Curlers, I found it to be seamless to use, and I barely had to do anything. Thanks to Bellissima's Coanda Technology, which generates 200 micro-flows of air, your hair wraps around cylinders smoothly without you needing to painstakingly wrap every segment around or risk burning your fingers.
I was hoping for defined waves and curls, and I was shocked by how little time it took. I will note that the hair styler is relatively big, longer than your average straightener or curling wand when the Coanda Prodigy curlers are attached—while I got used to this, as a beginner, this does take some time to get used to. That said, once I familiarised myself with how this thing operates (with easy-to-use controls that let you seamlessly switch between temperatures and speeds), it took a surprisingly short period of time to get the curls I was hoping for.
I will point out that I have relatively short and thin hair, so I imagine styling would take longer for someone with thicker and longer hair, but all in all, I think it took me 20 minutes. I did section my hair into three layers to make grabbing sections easier without too much hair getting in the way, but I don't think this would be necessary depending on the style you're trying to achieve. I would recommend sectioning if you have more hair than I do, as the air styler did have a tendency to pick up hair outside of my section, if I wasn't paying attention - so if, like me, you want tighter curls, you'll need to keep an eye to make sure too much hair isn't wrapping around the curler.
While I did play around with the other heads, the Coanda Prodigy curlers have definitely proven to be my favourite for getting smoother, more defined curls that beat even my natural hair. Regardless, I was blown away by this set's versatility and its catering to plenty of hair types and styles. It's super easy to use, with a coherent set of instructions also included, making it simpler than ever to achieve coveted styles without the need for experience or proficiency with other hairstyling tools.
It's also important to note that as someone with bleached hair, I always worry about my hair getting fried by too much heat. After using this air styler, my hair didn't feel dry or brittle at all. In fact, I did think my curls felt noticeably smoother, and my hair appeared to have a bit more of a shine to it. That said, I did use a heat protector spray, which may have contributed to those results. I used the Colour Wow Dream Coat.
And it's not just me who's obsessed with this hair styler. Bellissima shoppers have bestowed a near-perfect rating on this set, currently boasting an impressive 4.8 out of 5 stars. One satisfied shopper shares: "I bought this last week, and it's AMAZING! It dries my (long and thick) hair within 10 minutes. Especially for this price, it is the best out there! Additionally, this product simply looks beautiful and very aesthetically pleasing."
Another fan of the Prodigy Air Styler beams: "This air styler is a must have for anyone. I have been amazed by the results, taming my hair to make it smooth and aleek And very simple styling. I'm amazed how the air style works. The curling tongs are great. It comes in a beautiful gag and has several attachments which are easy to attach and swap."
And a third chimes in: " Absolutely amazing product! So versatile! Works so effectively for many different hair styles! So durable and very portable for travel! Feels very safe to use no concerns whatsoever!"

Tom Holland hints he would play Bond amid 007 rumours

has hinted that he would play James Bond after 007 rumours, saying: 'We'll get there one day.' The Hollywood actor and star of Spider-Man responded to speculation that he might play the world's most famous spy by saying: 'We'll get there one day.' Holland, 29, added that for 'every young British actor, it's the pinnacle of working in our industry'. The Londoner is among several actors tipped for the role of 007 following Amazon's takeover of the franchise. These include: Jacob Elordi, the Australian who starred in Euphoria and Saltburn; Aaron Pierre, star of Rebel Ridge, the 2024 American action thriller; and Harris Dickinson, who acted opposite Nicole Kidman in Babygirl, the erotic thriller. Holland admitted in a conversation with his friend, Gordon Ramsay, that he was aware there were rumours he might become Bond. When the celebrity chef asked Holland about the role on his YoutTube channel this week, the actor smiled and said: 'Listen, there's speculation at the moment. We'll keep it to a minimum for now. We will get there one day.' He was asked by Ramsay: 'Can you imagine what's going to happen to your life if you do? First of all, you'd love that opportunity, right?' Holland replied: 'Dude, I mean every young British actor, it's the pinnacle of working in our industry. I already consider myself to be the luckiest kid alive. I could never have dreamed to have the career that I have.' Dune director takes over Denis Villeneuve, the acclaimed Canadian film-maker behind the Dune franchise, will direct the new Bond film. However, the lead role is yet to be cast. The movie is being co-produced by Amy Pascal, who works closely with Holland on the Spider-Man movies. It has been reported that Amazon, which is making the 26th Bond film, wishes to cast a younger Bond for the next film. Daniel Craig, the British actor, starred in five of the spy films between 2006 and 2021, beginning with Casino Royale and ending with No Time to Die. Earlier this year it emerged that Amazon had secured creative control of the James Bond franchise, prompting fears among fans and in Hollywood that the new 007 actor would be American. However, last month Variety magazine cited sources close to the film saying that the studio and producers were interested in casting a British actor under the age of 30. Glasgow filming Meanwhile Holland is currently filming the latest Spider-Man film in the streets of Glasgow. The city centre is being redesigned in the image of New York, with US flags draped on its famous buildings, as filming gets under way for the new Marvel movie, set for release next year. The film stars Tom Holland as the titular character and Holland's girlfriend, Zendaya, as Michelle Jones 'MJ' Watson. A number of American-style vehicles have been spotted near the Scottish Event Campus, including New York Police Department-labelled cars, buses, and food vans. Filming is expected to last until the middle of August. It will be the fourth instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man franchise, and creators have said it will change the tone of the previous three movies, which were released in 2017, 2019, and 2021.

Inside Celebrity SAS star Adam Collard's 'dream' relationship with partner

Adam Collard is back on the small screen tonight with a new season of Celebrity SAS, but the prolific reality TV star also enjoys a high-profile romance. The Love Island star, 29, made a name for himself on various dating shows until he met 38-year-old football presenter Laura Woods, best known as the face of ITV's Euros coverage over the past two years. Laura shone when she presented coverage of the 2023 Women's World Cup for the channel. Not only that, but she is also a TNT Sports and Amazon Prime Video presenter after spending several years as a boxing pitch-side reporter with Gary Neville on Sky Sports. Meanwhile, as well as stints on Love Island and Celebs Go Dating, Adam is also a fitness guru and founder of Sculpt Fitness. But what has he said about his long-term relationship with partner Laura Woods? Fitness coach and former Islander (in 2018 and 2022) Adam, 28, has been dating Laura since 2023. They confirmed their romance by making things Instagram official in October 2023. It was Celebs Go Dating star Adam who revealed he actually slid into Laura's DMs first but left her on read after she replied. However, sparks started to fly once they met in person and things got pretty serious rather quickly, with Adam declaring her 'the one' as their relationship became public knowledge. The couple frequently share loved-up photos together, with Adam sharing a sweet photo dump in May dedicated to his girlfriend, which he dubbed 'a little bit of everything'. It included photos of them on holiday together, training together and with the dog, with plenty of cuddles in between. In July 2024, the pair shared the happy news that they were expecting their first baby together. Just weeks later, in September, they took their relationship to the next step by getting engaged. At the start of this year, Adam and Laura celebrated the birth of their baby boy, Leo Ernie Collard, as friends and family flooded their social media with warm wishes. In an interview with the Mirror, Adam said about his fiancée: 'She's amazing and we are having a lot of fun. It feels like I'm living the dream. 'I would never get in a relationship with someone at least at one point [unless] I thought they were The One.' And when asked about the age gap by OK! Magazine, added: 'Perhaps that's what I've always been seeking: an older woman. 'It's something that works for me. But Laura isn't really an 'older woman'. If you meet her and spend time with her… I've dated younger people who don't act as maturely as she does! Age never factored into our relationship, it's been smooth sailing from the start.' Elsewhere in the same chat, he spoke about his dreams to be his children's 'best friend' like he was with his father and plans to have no more than two kids otherwise he 'might stuggle'. The pair have also faced hardships in their relationship, as Adam opens up about on the Celebrity SAS. He explained that Laura had been 11 weeks pregnant when she experienced a miscarriage (she felt pregnant with their son Leo a month later). Reflecting on the impact of miscarriage, he said: 'I know it's a terrible way to look at it, but I felt like it was bad karma for me being on dating shows and upsetting too many people. 'I felt like that was some high power's way of being like, 'Well, there you go, that's what you have to carry',' he said, per the Mail Online. He added that he was a 'love rat jumping from girl to girl. I want to show I'm not that man any more.' Prior to Adam being her boyfriend, Laura had a long-term relationship with a professional athlete. She dated former England rugby player Alex Corbisiero for eight years. Meanwhile, Adam's exes include Zara McDermott, who he was coupled up with during his first stint on Love Island in 2018, before moving onto an on-off relationship with Sarah Godfrey. His second appearance on Love Island in 2022 saw Adam pair off with paramedic Paige Thorne, with the relationship continuing for a few months outside of the villa, while he also had a fling with model Lottie Moss, Kate Moss's younger sister, after they appeared together on Celebs Go Dating. In May 2024, Laura sustained gruesome injuries from a freak pillow accident forced her 'off the tele' and to miss anchoring Tyson Fury's fight with Oleksandr Usyk for TNT Sports. The popular presenter required emergency surgery after a glass lampshade shattered above her and the glass cut her face and arms, narrowly missing her eyes. She explained at the time that the incident happened as she swung a pillow at a holiday cottage. In her post revealing her injuries she praised Adam 'for being my hero that day' as he acted 'so quickly' and didn't leave her side. Laura also praised the doctors who treated her as she continued: 'I've added in the photos from then to now to show that even though it may look rough, it's such a wonderful improvement already and I'm so grateful. More Trending 'It was a hell of a shock and I've been a bit sad, but I'm feeling very lucky it wasn't worse. So a big thanks to my eyebrow too, for taking the brunt of it.' Adam later angrily hit back at trolls who alleged he had hit his girlfriend, telling one commenter to 'shut up' and 'read her Instagram post'. Airing across eight one-hour episodes, the seventh series of Celebrity SAS can be streamed or watched live every Sunday and Monday on Channel 4, starting on August 3. Orlando Bloom takes swipe at ex Katy Perry over new Justin Trudeau romance

Hollywood star Orlando Bloom has taken a cheeky swipe at his ex Katy Perry's rumoured romance with ex politician Justin Trudeau on a social media post When Orlando Bloom attended the wedding of Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos following his public split with Katy Perry, he looked happy and content with his new life as a single man. But it seems there may still be a few scores to settle if his latest social media comment is anything to go by. ‌ Recently, Katy, 40, has been romantically linked to Canadian politician Justin Trudeau after they were seen enjoying dinner following her concert in Montreal. US media outlet TMZ posted a number of pictures of Katy and Justin at Le Violon restaurant last week and two days later, fans then saw him having the time of his life at her concert at the Bell Centre, as part of her Lifetimes tour. ‌ This comes after Cruz Beckham 'steals' his dad's tiny white trunks and family have epic response. ‌ In response to the latest speculation, a fan posted an AI image of Orlando having dinner with former German politician Angela Merkel. The caption quipped that the pair were "sipping wine and slurping oysters". The fan also joked that he "couldn't keep his hands off" the politician.
