, Founder,, says gold's surge past expectations suggests a short-term peak around $3450-3500, requiring consolidation before further gains.Shah also says metals are poised for a significant rally. Experts predict the metals index will reach 10,500. Top-tier metal producers, especially in steel and non-ferrous sectors, are favoured. Jindal Group stocks are particularly attractive. These leading stocks could see gains between 15% and 30%. Investors should focus on quality large-caps to navigate global volatility.Yes, I am sure the gold has actually done the unthinkable. I remember 18 months back at various conferences, it was trading at levels of $1800 and nobody had the visibility that it could actually cross $3000. But in charts it gave you some sense that a mega trend was coming. For now, the trend is done with, $3450-3500 is a short-term top. It needs multiple weeks of consolidation before it can do bigger things. The longer term is intact.Stay invested in gold but do not be a buyer at these prices. You will get a little more dip closer to levels of $2900-3000. But the bigger trade for the next one year which again we have been saying for a while now is silver. Silver seems to be consolidating and what gold has done over the last one-and-a-half years, silver can do over the next 12 to 18 months. So once the metal gets past, you are going to see a mega trend there.I do not think it can get back to its heyday, but it will not go down too much, that itself is a win for the IT index. Remember, many of these stocks are very richly valued. Many of these stocks have a lot to do with foreign soil. And in today's complex and volatile world, it might not be easy for IT stocks to get into a structural uptrend. So, while they might see a pullback from time to time, I do not think they are going to take leadership anytime soon. In the next leg of the market moving towards lifetime highs, new leaders will emerge. Maybe financial services will do better. Metals will do well. Real estate will do well. The entire PSU basket will do well where the valuations are very comfortable. So, while we like it, we are not recommending it as a structural trade for the rest of the year.It would be metals. Last summer that same trade was financial services and Bajaj Finance and some of these top stocks worked out quite well because they stood out while the entire mess was getting cleaned and cleared. Now the metals index after yesterday's big move on charts, tells me that there is something brewing behind the scene that fundamentally could trigger a big move. So, chartically, I am very convinced that the metals index is heading towards 10,500.I am sticking to top quality everywhere, in each of these sectors of the market I am looking at the big boys because they can create alpha and in this complex global world, you do not want to be very picky with midcaps and smallcaps where the trend is very shallow. Any volatility and midcaps and small caps tend to fall. But the top steel producers are the ones which we really like. In fact, even in the non-ferrous metal stocks, we like the top three or four names. The entire Jindal Group of stocks we like. In this basket, all the top five or six stocks can appreciate anywhere between 15% and 30%.

India's Position On CPEC 'Clear', Any Third-Country Role 'Unacceptable': Govt In Rajya Sabha
Last Updated: In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, MoS for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh said that India's position on the matter remains 'clear and consistent' India on Thursday strongly reiterated its opposition to the expansion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), especially any involvement of third countries in the project. In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh said that India's position on the matter remains 'clear and consistent." The government was responding to questions in Parliament about the May 21 trilateral meeting held in Beijing between China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, where regional connectivity was reportedly discussed, including possible cooperation linked to the CPEC. 'The Government of India is aware of a China-Pakistan-Afghanistan meeting held in Beijing, China, on 21 May 2025. The government's position on CPEC is clear and consistent," Singh said. Singh stated that the CPEC passes through parts of the Indian Union Territories of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir, which are under illegal occupation by Pakistan. 'Government has consistently protested to parties concerned over the inclusion of the so-called 'China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which passes through parts of the Indian Union Territories of Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir under illegal occupation of Pakistan, as a flagship project of 'OBOR/BRI' and asked them to cease these activities," he added. The minister stressed that India has always opposed the inclusion of these territories in international projects such as CPEC, which is promoted as a flagship component of China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The minister further noted that India is fully aware of all developments, including international meetings involving countries participating in CPEC discussions, and continues to monitor them closely from the perspective of national security. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Afghanistan's acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi met in Beijing earlier this May. Microsoft confirms Chinese cyber groups behind major SharePoint exploit; US agencies and global companies among affected
Three China-linked cyber espionage groups have been implicated in a major hacking campaign that has compromised a wide range of organisations globally, including multiple US government agencies. The cyberattack, which exploits critical vulnerabilities in Microsoft's widely used SharePoint server software, has prompted urgent investigations by federal officials and private security experts, according to a report by Politico. Microsoft confirmed in a recent blog post that the three threat actors, identified as Violet Typhoon, Linen Typhoon, and Storm-2603, are actively involved in the campaign. These groups are believed to be state-affiliated and have been previously associated with cyber operations targeting Western interests. Two US officials, speaking on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation, disclosed that at least four to five federal agencies have been affected, though the full scale of the breach remains unclear. 'More than one' agency had been confirmed as compromised as of Monday, one of the officials added. The attackers are exploiting a serious flaw in customer-managed, on-premises versions of Microsoft SharePoint, a collaborative platform used extensively across government and corporate sectors. Microsoft stated that the cloud-hosted versions of SharePoint are not impacted by the vulnerability. Since the breach was detected over the weekend, both federal cybersecurity teams and private analysts have been working to contain the damage. Microsoft said it is confident the threat actors will continue to exploit unpatched systems, warning of the urgent need for organisations to update their software. The tech giant has said it is working closely with the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the Department of Defense's Cyber Defence Command, and international cybersecurity partners to mitigate the threat. A CISA spokesperson noted that Microsoft had been 'responding quickly' since the agency first raised the alarm. This latest breach adds to a growing list of high-profile cybersecurity incidents involving Microsoft and suspected Chinese hackers. In 2023, attackers linked to China reportedly accessed email accounts belonging to the US ambassador to China and the US Commerce Secretary by exploiting a string of Microsoft security flaws, shortcomings that were later criticised by a federal review board. More recently, the Pentagon announced it would reassess all its cloud services after it emerged that Chinese-based engineers had been providing technical assistance for sensitive US military systems.
