Tupac's friends and family smoked his ashes hours after his death, Suge Knight claims

New York Post2 days ago
Tupac Shakur's closest friends and family rolled the rapper's cremated ashes into a blunt and smoked it just hours after he died, his pal Suge Knight sensationally claimed in a new interview.
The former Death Row Records CEO told People on Tuesday that he coughed up $1 million in cash to have the slain rapper immediately cremated so the bizarre ritual could take place — and because he was so terrified of Shakur's mom.
'A bag with his ashes was passed around,' Knight said. 'His homies rolled him up. They smoked him.

'You gotta understand, that's what made sense. It was symbolic. It's like… you keep part of him,' he added.

Knight — who was behind the wheel when Shakur was shot dead in the passenger seat — claimed he was the only one who didn't partake.
'I was so happy to say I was on probation — I couldn't smoke,' Knight said.
'I told his mother, 'Moms, I'd love to, but if I hit that, I'll get in trouble.'. I was probably the only one who didn't hit him.'

Knight, who is currently serving time in California for manslaughter, said he paid a huge sum to have his pal cremated because Shakur's mom, Afeni Shakur, demanded it just moments after he was pronounced dead.
'She came up to me and said, 'Get it done. Now,'' Knight recalled.
He said he hesitated because Shakur had told him just weeks earlier that he didn't want to be cremated.
'He told me, 'When I go, I want every rapper at my funeral to grab the mic. I want them to kiss me head to toe. Just like in 'Life Goes On.'' Knight said. 'He didn't want to be cremated.'

After telling his mom he didn't think he could make the cremation happen so soon, Knight said the rapper's grieving mom 'gave me one of those mama looks, like, 'Shut your a– up and do what I said.''
'Then she started cussing me out. 'Get this sh-t done!'' Knight said, adding, 'I paid someone a million dollars cash to take care of it.'

Pop star Katy Perry and actor Orlando Bloom split 6 years after getting engaged

NEW YORK (AP) — Popstar Katy Perry and actor Orlando Bloom have split, multiple media outlets reported Thursday. Outlets including People and USA Today cited a statement that said the pair 'have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting' and would continue to be seen in public with their daughter. The statement, attributed to representatives for both stars, said their priority would be raising their daughter with 'love, stability, and mutual respect.' The statement came a week after reports of the couple's breakup swirled ahead of the wedding of billionaire Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos, which Bloom attended alone. Perry has been on a world tour. Perry, 40, and Bloom, 48, have been romantically linked since 2016. The pair split in 2017 but rekindled shortly thereafter, getting engaged on Valentine's Day in 2019, as Perry revealed during an interview on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live.' In 2020, the pair welcomed a daughter named Daisy Dove Bloom. Perry and Bloom got UNICEF to announce the news on its Instagram account. Both are goodwill ambassadors for the United Nations agency that helps children. Bloom and his former wife, Australian model Miranda Kerr, have a son, Flynn, who was born in 2011. Daisy is Perry's only child. Perry, born Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, was previously married to comedian Russell Brand. Born and raised in California, the 13-time Grammy Award nominee helped usher in the sound of '00s pop, quickly becoming one of the bestselling artists of all time for her campy, big, belting anthems. She has released seven studio albums, most notably 2010's sugar-sweet 'Teenage Dream.' The album produced five No. 1s that tied a record set by Michael Jackson's 1987 album 'Bad.' Bloom, who is from Canterbury, England, is best known for his roles as the elf Legolas in 'The Lord of the Rings' and "The Hobbit" films as well as Will Turner in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' series.

El Salvador president disputes alleged MS-13 member Kilmar Abrego García's prison torture claims with shocking video: ‘Why does he look so well?'

El Salvador President Nayib Bukele has refuted claims made by US deportee and alleged MS-13 member Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who said he was beaten and psychologically tortured while imprisoned in the Central American country. Bukele denied Abrego Garcia's allegations in a Thursday post on X in which he included photos and videos of the prisoner in a detention cell, where appeared to live a vacation lifestyle in custody –apparently contradicting the claims in his bombastic legal filing. 'Apparently, anything a criminal claims is accepted as truth by the mainstream media and the crumbling Western judiciary,' Bukele wrote. Advertisement 'But the man wasn't tortured, nor did he lose weight. In fact, photos show he gained weight while in detention,' the president argued in the post. 'If he'd been tortured, sleep-deprived, and starved, why does he look so well in every picture? Why would he gain weight? Why are there no bruises, or even dark circles under his eyes?' Advertisement The video shared in the post shows a montage of Abrego Garcia partaking in a number of leisure activities including chess, reading, exercising, gardening, and soccer. Apparent security footage from inside his cell shows a small bed, a gallon jug of clean water, a fan, and a nicely sized television mounted on the wall. At one point in the video, Abrego Garcia adoringly looks at a parakeet that has landed on his finger. President Nayib Bukele pushed back against the former prisoner's claims of abuse. AFP via Getty Images Advertisement There are also several still images of Abrego Garcia, who reported a health condition, receiving a blood pressure test. It is not immediately clear whether these videos and photos are from Salvador's Super Max Prison CECOT — where Abrego Garcia claimed he suffered physical and psychological torture. The former prisoner claimed in court documents filed Wednesday that he was kicked and hit with regularity while in lock-up at CECOT. Prisoners are 'confined to metal bunks with no mattresses in an overcrowded cell with no windows, bright lights that remain on 24 hours a day, and minimal access to sanitation,' he claimed in the filings. The new allegations were included as part of the Salvadoran national's lawsuit against the Trump administration filed by Abrego Garcia's wife. The controversial so-called 'Maryland man's' second exit from the country was delayed by a federal judge in Tennessee earlier this week — but the Trump administration has maintained they will eventually deport him to a third country, not to El Salvador.

Ex-NBA player Ben McLemore found guilty of raping woman at party in 2021

Former NBA player Ben McLemore has been found guilty of raping a 21-year-old woman during a lake house party attended by many of his then-teammates from the Portland Trail Blazers, a jury ruled Thursday. The jury in Clackamas County, located directly south of Portland, found McLemore, 32, guilty of rape, unlawful sexual penetration and one count of sexual abuse. He was found not guilty on another count of sexual abuse, Portland television station KGW reported. 'We recognize there are those who fear individuals with celebrity status or a position of prominence can avoid prosecution. Not in Clackamas County. This case demonstrates my office prosecutes criminal acts regardless of the offender's community status,' District Attorney John Wentworth said in a statement. Prosecutors claimed during the trial that the sexual encounter was rape, while McLemore's attorney countered it was consensual sex. The woman said she was incapacitated after a night of heavy drinking and was unable to give consent. 5 Jeff Green talks with Ben McLemore during the first half of game four against the Oklahoma City Thunder during the 2020 NBA Playoffs at AdventHealth Arena on August 23, 2020 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Getty Images Advertisement Prosecutors submitted photos of the woman hovering over a toilet and then passed out on a couch, The Oregonian/Oregon Live earlier reported. She said she woke up at one point during the rape and froze in terror. 'I don't know who this person is,' she testified. 'This is a random person that is doing something like this to me.' The Associated Press generally does not identify victims of sexual assault. At one point, she said she let her body slide to the floor in an effort to stop the assault. Paul J. Bereswill Covington earlier testified he saw the woman flirting with McLemore while they sat on a couch. McLemore testified he was also drinking but claimed the sex was consensual. He also said he and the woman did not have a conversation before, during or after the act, after which he immediately left the home. One of his attorneys, Kris Winemiller, said McLemore left after receiving an angry message from this then-wife, who tracked him and wanted to know why he wasn't in their own Lake Oswego home. Clackamas County prosecutor Scott Healy said there was no confusion. 'When you look at all the surrounding circumstances and you assess the evidence in this case, I submit to you that the defendant is guilty,' he said during closing arguments Tuesday. 5 Ben McLemore shows off his suit after he got interviewed after being selected number 7 overall by the Sacramento Kings during the 2013 NBA Draft at the Barclays Center on June 27, 2013 in Brooklyn, New York. 'The only reasonable verdict in a case where two people get drunk and have sex and the man is drunker than the woman, the only reasonable verdict in a case like that is not guilty,' she said. The woman said she did not hire an attorney to sue McLemore and didn't seek money from him. Instead she pursued the criminal case because 'you can't do that to somebody, let alone somebody that you don't know.'
