The latter is the world number one and a favourite to go all the way having reached the final of the last three grand slams before making light work of her opening two matches.
British number one Raducanu has also enjoyed a straightforward start to the tournament, looking in fine form when beating 2023 champion Marketa Vondrousova in the second round and sparking plenty of excitement about her chances of a deep run.
They are both among the most high-profile female players and, with one of them on home turf, a Centre Court ticket for their third-round meeting will be a coveted thing indeed.

Sport stars pay tribute to late Doddie Weir in birthday video
Rugby stars Kenny Logan and Rob Wainwright and other sporting legends have paid tribute to the late Doddie Weir in a video released on what would have been his 55th birthday. The video has been created to honour the memory of Weir, and the legacy of the foundation he set up to find effective treatments for motor neurone disease (MND) after he was diagnosed with it in 2016. Weir founded the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation in 2017, and died in November 2022 aged 52. Those in the video include Olympic swimming medallist Duncan Scott, Olympic curling medallist Eve Muirhead, broadcaster and ex-footballer Ally McCoist, former England rugby player Mike Tindall and British and Irish Lions fly-half Fin Smith. Despite being tipped as a strong contender for a significant run at the Championships, Draper's campaign ended in the second round, marking the third time he has stumbled at this stage in his burgeoning career. Marin Cilic, ranked 83rd in the world, delivered a powerful performance on Centre Court to defeat the fourth seed. With Draper out, attention turns to Raducanu, Cameron Norrie, and Sonay Kartal, who are among the last of the 23 British players in the singles draws to reach the third round. In his post-match press conference, Draper said: "Of course [we] still have British hope. Emma is playing great. I watched her play yesterday. That was amazing." Raducanu has dazzled crowds at the All England Club with convincing victories over Mimi Xu in the opening round and former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova in the second. She now faces a formidable challenge against top seed Aryna Sabalenka on Friday. I wasn't able to deal with his pace of ball into my forehand. I was over-spinning a lot. I think a lot of my success this year with my forehand was when I have more time and I can create the speed and the spin that I want."
