Actress Celia Imrie, star of Bridget Jones's Diary, Calendar Girls and, aptly, the 2004 film Wimbledon, was in attendance in the Royal Box.
She was joined by Feargal Sharkey, environmentalist and former lead singer of The Undertones, and Dragons' Den business woman Deborah Meaden.
England's Rugby World Cup-winning coach Sir Clive Woodward was also present, and so too was former Conservative Party leader William Hague, adventurer Bear Grylls and Lindsey Burrow – wife of the late rugby league player Rob.

'I'd say, if I had to sum it up, it felt the tennis balls were back in my pocket very quickly and never stayed in there a long time.' – Dan Evans encapsulates what it is like to play tennis against Novak Djokovic.

The latter is the world number one and a favourite to go all the way having reached the final of the last three grand slams before making light work of her opening two matches.
British number one Raducanu has also enjoyed a straightforward start to the tournament, looking in fine form when beating 2023 champion Marketa Vondrousova in the second round and sparking plenty of excitement about her chances of a deep run.
They are both among the most high-profile female players and, with one of them on home turf, a Centre Court ticket for their third-round meeting will be a coveted thing indeed.

Joshua, 35, is yet to return since being knocked out by Daniel Dubois, 27, in September having undergone elbow surgery in May. Sport stars pay tribute to late Doddie Weir in birthday video

Rugby stars Kenny Logan and Rob Wainwright and other sporting legends have paid tribute to the late Doddie Weir in a video released on what would have been his 55th birthday. The video has been created to honour the memory of Weir, and the legacy of the foundation he set up to find effective treatments for motor neurone disease (MND) after he was diagnosed with it in 2016. Weir founded the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation in 2017, and died in November 2022 aged 52. Those in the video include Olympic swimming medallist Duncan Scott, Olympic curling medallist Eve Muirhead, broadcaster and ex-footballer Ally McCoist, former England rugby player Mike Tindall and British and Irish Lions fly-half Fin Smith. PA Media (left-right) Doddie Weir's son Hamish Weir, Doddie Weir's wife Kathy Weir, Ally McCoist and Kenny Logan celebrate the conclusion of the Doddie'5 Lions Challenge (Brian Lawless/PA). Supporters from across the UK will wear Doddie tartan to work on Friday July 4, as part of a tradition marking what would have been the former rugby player's birthday. Kenny Logan, who played alongside Doddie as part of the 1999 Five Nations-winning Scotland side, said: 'Doddie was a leader in life, and he remains a leader in death. 'His memory inspires thousands of people, both inside and outside of the MND community, to take action and help bring an end to this devastating disease. 'We all know Doddie should still be here with us. He brought light and laughter into every room, even in the darkest days. It's up to all of us to dig deep, keep fundraising and finish what he started. 'We do it because we miss him. We do it because we love him. And we do it because nobody else should have to go through what he and his family did.' The My Name'5 Doddie Foundation has now committed almost £20m to targeted research projects and launched a Catalysing A Cure strategy to speed up the search for effective treatments. PA Media Curler Eve Muirhead is among those in the video (Andrew Milligan/PA). Earlier this year it pledged £4m to the MND Discovery Network, a new UK-wide initiative connecting leading scientists to accelerate progress. The film also features Jennie Starkey, who is living with MND and is part of the Foundation's Discovery Network board. The video comes after the end of the Doddie's Lions Challenge, in which a team led by Logan and including Ally McCoist, Gabby Logan, and Doddie's widow Kathy, cycled 555 miles around the island of Ireland in five days to deliver the match ball for the British and Irish Lions vs Argentina fixture in Dublin. The ride has so far raised almost £650,000 for MND research. My Name'5 Doddie Foundation chief executive Nicola Roseman, said: 'Doddie's spirit continues to galvanise the MND community. 'The outpouring of support and emotion on what would have been his 55th birthday shows just how many lives he touched and how much his story still matters. It also reminds us that there is still work to be done. 'Every birthday that passes without Doddie is another reminder of the urgency of our mission.' Jack Draper makes his thoughts about Emma Raducanu perfectly clear at Wimbledon

Jack Draper makes his thoughts about Emma Raducanu perfectly clear at Wimbledon Jack Draper became the latest Brit to crash out of Wimbledon when he was beaten in four sets by Marin Cilic on Thursday, but he is still hopeful of success for the home contingent Jack Draper has the ultimate confidence in Emma Raducanu (Image: PA ) Jack Draper has expressed his belief that Emma Raducanu is well-equipped to carry the British hopes at Wimbledon, following his own exit from the tournament. Despite being tipped as a strong contender for a significant run at the Championships, Draper's campaign ended in the second round, marking the third time he has stumbled at this stage in his burgeoning career. ‌ Marin Cilic, ranked 83rd in the world, delivered a powerful performance on Centre Court to defeat the fourth seed. With Draper out, attention turns to Raducanu, Cameron Norrie, and Sonay Kartal, who are among the last of the 23 British players in the singles draws to reach the third round. ‌ In his post-match press conference, Draper said: "Of course [we] still have British hope. Emma is playing great. I watched her play yesterday. That was amazing." Raducanu has dazzled crowds at the All England Club with convincing victories over Mimi Xu in the opening round and former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova in the second. She now faces a formidable challenge against top seed Aryna Sabalenka on Friday. However, Draper remains optimistic about Raducanu's chances against the Belarusian superstar, stating: "She has a real opportunity. I hope she goes on and does us all proud. She's definitely got the capability to do that," reports the Express. Draper spoke highly of Britain's other two hopefuls, saying: "Cam, Sonay, these guys are going to be flying the flag now. I think they're incredible players, they all want it so badly. I know them all personally. They're all great people, great players. They deserve everything they're going to get. I'm looking forward to watching them play." "Maybe I'll try to stay away from it, in all honesty, because it hurts badly," he confessed. "I want them to have amazing success. They deserve that for sure." Excitement built around Draper following his dominant performance against Sebastian Baez in the opening round, with the Argentine retiring in the third set. However, Cilic used his wealth of experience to cause a significant upset at Wimbledon on Thursday. ‌ The 36-year-old delivered 16 aces towards Draper and hit an impressive number of forehand winners, earning him a spot in the third round against Jaume Munar. Speaking after his defeat, the Brit was brutally honest in his assessment on how he's performed on grass so far this year. The Brit was bounced out of the second round of Wimbledon by Marin Cilic (Image: Getty ) "I've been really disappointed with the way my game's been on the grass this year, in all honesty," he admitted. "I wasn't feeling too great at Queen's. I don't know how I made the semis there. This year I really struggled on the grass. Article continues below "I felt great on the hard, felt great on the clay, I felt like there weren't many holes in my game, whereas as soon as I came on to the grass, I felt a big difference. It highlighted a lot of weaknesses in my game, especially against a player the way he was playing today, someone as good as him on the grass. "I think the hole in my forehand showed up, for sure. I wasn't able to deal with his pace of ball into my forehand. I was over-spinning a lot. I think a lot of my success this year with my forehand was when I have more time and I can create the speed and the spin that I want."
