Following the conclusion of the second round of admissions, the mid-entry option will remain active from July 2 to July 4. This special provision aims to accommodate candidates who were unable to apply earlier for various reasons. Students applying through this mode will be required to pay an additional fee.
Students who applied earlier but did not submit preferences will also be allowed to participate under mid-entry.
However, this option will only be available for a limited time. "The second round of admissions concluded on Sunday. As part of this round, 5,632 students already secured admission out of the 9,434 offers made so far. Of these, 2,186 students froze their seats," said an official.
The official added that the number of students taking admission under the second round increased compared to the first round. The deadline for mid-entry registration is 4.59 pm on July 4.
Once this window closes, students will not be able to avail themselves of this facility. The third round of seat allotment will be announced on July 8 and students will be required to accept their allotted seats until July 10.
Mid-entry is available for all postgraduate courses, including supernumerary quotas, such as sports, extracurricular activities (ECA), CW (children/widows of armed forces personnel) and Kashmiri migrants. The first round of postgraduate admissions began with 13,500 seats. In the first round, 7,586 candidates were allotted seats and about 76% of them accepted the allotments.
