Aldi store assistant shares 5 secrets to working there
Store Assistant Georgina Phillips has shared some of the quirks and surprises that come with the job at the UK's fourth-largest supermarket.
Georgina shares: "This is a real perk in the retail industry. Our breaks are paid - so whether I'm eating lunch or enjoying some downtime in between shifts, I'm still earning.
"Over the course of a year, it adds up to around £1,370 extra in your pay packet, which can make a real difference."
Aldi workers get trained across the whole store, so one day they might be stacking fruit and vegetables, and on another day they'll be on the tills.
Georgina adds: "That flexibility means every Store Assistant can perform whatever role is needed at that time - which keeps queues down and things moving fast."

Aldi has a number of measures to help run things efficiently, including having larger barcodes to help with scanning.
Georgina explains: "Even shelf packaging is designed for efficiency by being ready to slot straight onto the shelves. It's part of the reason Aldi can offer such great value."
Georgina says: "Not only is Aldi the best-paying supermarket, but from free same-day GP appointments to discounted gym memberships and a dedicated wellbeing app, the benefits make a real difference too.
"If my toddler is ever poorly, I can use Aldi's digital GP service and get help within hours – which is faster than my usual surgery.

"And the generous 28-day holiday allowance means I get to plan beach days with the kids without the stress."

Working at Aldi and being trained across the whole store means staff are knowledgeable across a range of areas.
Georgina says: "Ask me anything about the Specialbuys or wine picks and I probably know them inside out before they hit the shelves.
"We're trained on everything in store, from the latest wine picks to the Super Six fruit and veg offers.
"Knowing the layout and launches like the back of my hand means I can help shoppers find what they're after, and fast."

Pet owners will love one item in the range SAVVY SHOPPER Aldi launches 'life hacks range' including kettle that can be controlled by an app & robot vacuum cleaner Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ALDI is launching a new Life Hacks range which includes a variety of everyday essentials. The range is designed to "streamline everyday tasks." Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 3 These pet devices are just £5.99 each Credit: Aldi 3 This brilliant vacuum cleaner can keep your floors spotless Credit: Aldi Aldi's brand new life hacks range features an array of handy devices which are perfect for cutting out extra stress from daily life. Beginning at just £5.99, this new middle aisle range of products is hitting stores on Sunday, July 13. But shoppers will need to hurry - as the devices have limited stock. Notably, this includes an ingenious Robot Vacuum Cleaner which is on sale for less than a hundred quid. The gadget cleans floors with its three-stage suction, sweeping and mop functions. It even has an app-controlled system compatible with Google, Alexa, and Siri - meaning it can seamlessly assimilate into your phone's functions. Selling at just £99.99, this will help keep things clean at home for people short on time to get the hoover out. Pet owners will be delighted by the neat £5.99 Pet Auto Waterer and Pet Auto Feeder which keeps furry ones full and owners unbothered. The devices have auto-gravity designs and non-slip rubber bases, which keeps the pet bowls full and means fewer refills for owners. The range features other neat time-savers to streamline everyday chores, including a Mini Thermal Printer for just £9.99 which allows users to print photos and notes on the go. Beloved grocery chain 'better than Costco' to open new store as part of expansion after buying closed Winn-Dixie site Managing smart home devices just got easier, as the Smart Adapter, selling for £6.99 will help to keep these operating at peak performance levels. There's also a nifty Fake Safe Assortment, also selling for £6.99 which will keep your valuables safe. Ingeniously designed to appear as either a book pillar or a candle, any unwanted intruders would be fooled by the safe hiding in plain sight. An Aldi spokesperson said: "Smart home gadget ownership continues to rise with 79% of Brits now owning at least one. "So Aldi has announced a brand-new range hitting its middle aisle aimed at helping the UK lead a hassle-free life. "These ingenious gadgets offer clever shortcuts to aid everything from stress-free mornings to spotless homes, with prices starting at just £5.99. "Aldi's life hack heros will be in stores from 13th July, but shoppers best be quick, as with all Specialbuys, once they're gone, they're gone!" Possibly the star of the show in the new specialbuys range is the brand new Smart Kettle for just £29.99, making it £70 cheaper than a similar model sold by John Lewis. With a sleek stainless-steel finish, the kettle not only looks the part, but it's packed with clever features. It can be controlled via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, letting you boil the kettle straight from your phone. There's also a temperature display and an easy-touch screen so you can set the heat anywhere between 40°C and 100°C, depending on your drink of choice. It even comes with a keep warm function, meaning no more running back to re-boil the kettle – something 48 per cent of Brits admit to doing after getting distracted. The launch ties in with new Aldi research showing that tea remains the UK's top drink, with the average Brit drinking four cups a day. That's 127 million cups brewed daily across the country. How to compare prices to get the best deal JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn't mean it's always a good deal. There are plenty of comparison websites out there that'll check prices for you - so don't be left paying more than you have to. Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers. Here are some that we recommend: Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results. Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock. Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one. CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.
