RTÉ announce two-year broadcast agreement with FAI to show 15 men's FAI Cup fixtures
RTÉ2 will show six games in 2025 and seven fixtures across the 2026 competition.
This year's coverage will begin in the third round, followed by two quarter-finals, both semi-finals and the final at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday, November 9.
The 2026 competition will then see RTÉ broadcast from the second round all of the way to the final.
'We're delighted to announce this fantastic new broadcast agreement with RTÉ which will ensure the best ever coverage of Sports Direct Men's FAI Cup continuing their excellent coverage of domestic football," Sean Kavanagh, FAI commercial director, said.
"As the League of Ireland goes from strength to strength, 2025 is set to be the biggest year ever for the Sports Direct Men's FAI Cup and having coverage this year from the third round will help us tell the story even better with RTÉ2 & RTÉ Player television.
"RTÉ have a long history with the League of Ireland and Men's FAI Cup as the final has become a standout moment of the Irish sporting calendar which is set to continue with the help of their coverage over the next two years.
"With huge crowds at the Aviva Stadium over recent years, this broadcast agreement will ensure that the magic of the Cup will continue to be compelling viewing for the Irish public over the next two years.'
Declan McBennett, RTÉ group head of sport, added: 'The Sports Direct Men's FAI Cup has always proven to be the biggest draw of the domestic soccer season culminating in so many dramatic finals in recent seasons.

Fellow Dubliners Sarah Healy and Orla Comerford both produced strong runs at the same meeting, with Healy finishing seventh over 1500m in 3:57.20 and Comerford sprinting to victory in the mixed class para 100m in 12.14. Pitched in against some of the world's best, she held her own through the opening half but was visibly lacking her usual fluidity and was unable to land any sort of blow against McLaughlin-Levrone, who coasted to victory with fellow US athletes Aaliyah Butler (49.86) and Isabella Whittaker (50.81) following her home. With swirling winds in Hayward Field, times were mediocre throughout the field, but the size of the gap to the leaders was a reminder for Adeleke of how much distance she will need to make up if she's to contend for her first individual global medal in Tokyo. Healy, meanwhile, produced another strong showing in what's been the season of her career, the 24-year-old clocking 3:57.20 to finish seventh in the 1500m, just outside her PB of 3:57.15 which she set in Paris last month. Kenya's Faith Kipyegon produced another masterclass out front, the three-time Olympic champion breaking her own world record with a superb final lap, clocking 3:48.68. There was another world record in the women's 5000m where Olympic champion Beatrice Chebet of Kenya clocked 13:58.06. Comerford, the Paralympic bronze medallist in the T13 (visually impaired) category, was a dominant winner of the mixed para 100m, clocking 12.14 to come home well clear of US sprinter Brittni Mason (12.40), but she wasn't pleased with her time which was well down on the PB of 11.87 she ran to win at the Oslo Diamond League. 'I came in feeling really good, strong, confident, and it's a real honour to be invited,' she said. 'Unfortunately the performance wasn't really there for me today, I had a really bad stumble out of the blocks but no excuses. We'll go back to the drawing board and make sure that when we're stepping out next time we're looking towards those personal bests, world records. I'm still very honoured and privileged to take the win.' Ireland was also represented in the T54 (wheelchair) 800m, with Shauna Bocquet finishing sixth in 1:55.76. Meanwhile at the National U-20 and U-23 Championships in Tullamore, Precious Akpe-Moses – the younger sister of former European U-20 100m champion Gina Akpe-Moses – was among the stars, winning the U-20 100m in 11.64 and setting a championship record of 23.66 over 200m. Sean Doggett (Athenry AC) was the standout performer in a stacked U-20 men's 400m, winning in 47.08, while rising star Nick Griggs made a triumphant return to national championship action, winning the U-23 800m in 1:52.46.

O'Connell praises makeshift Ireland team after Georgia win: 'I'm very happy'
Paul O'Connell has lauded the performance of his makeshift Ireland team as they clinched an impressive 34-5 win over Georgia in Tbilisi. With Head Coach Andy Farrell and many first-choice players absent due to British and Irish Lions duties, interim coach O'Connell witnessed his young charges demonstrate their robustness with a confident display on a drenched pitch. Tommy O'Brien, making his debut, dashed across the try line twice in the initial stages before stand-in captain Craig Casey nabbed a try early in the second half, with Nick Timoney sealing the deal towards the game's end. Reflecting on the match, O'Connell said: "Very important game. A lot of players away with the Lions and we've got a load of guys who are just dying for an opportunity. "And you wonder how they will take that opportunity, particularly (because) some of them hadn't played games in a little while, so I'm very happy with how they went about their business. "They had a load of intent with what they did and they were really accurate with that intent." During their first clash with Georgia since the 2020 Autumn Nations Cup, Ireland didn't take long to take the lead under the rain, scoring within the first two minutes. The debutant O'Brien was quick off the mark with his first international try, seizing onto Sam Prendergast's kick to score near the posts. After Prendergast nailed the conversion, Ireland quickly followed up with a second try in just the eighth minute. In a superb display, Prendergast lobbed the ball which allowed O'Brien to make a crossing in the right corner. Georgia gave it their all and, as the first half was drawing to a close, they managed to slice through the Irish guard, with Tornike Jalagonia touching down in the corner. Ending the initial 40 minutes on a sour note was a blip in an otherwise strong performance under O'Connell's guidance, yet Casey, taking charge as interim captain, made amends swiftly after the interval. Mere moments into the second half, Casey celebrated his inaugural game as skipper by diving over the line following a nifty one-two with teammate Ryan Baird. Prendergast added the conversion which was soon followed by two successful penalty kicks. The match also witnessed Test debuts being handed to Tom Ahern, Jack Aungier and Ben Murphy. It was Timoney who had the last word thanks to his skilful late try, handing captain Casey a victory to start his leadership. Casey remarked: "Yeah obviously very happy. A bit wetter than we expected during the week. We had to adapt our game a bit and I thought we managed the game really well. "Our forwards were top-class, so we have to owe it to them. The feeling in the group is awesome, it's a great start to the summer tour. "There are a few lads making their first caps and we wanted to make it special for them and their families. Thankfully we did that."
