Cross-sectional entrepreneur Sajjan Gill began his journey by transforming his educational excellence into business acumen. Before starting his ventures, Sajjan leveraged his expertise in hospitality and management to build a position for himself. Being a first-generational entrepreneur, he knew that his approach had to go beyond operational management, expanding to market research, consumer behaviour analysis, and identifying pain points. The result was India's first comprehensive digital marketing platform — Conbun, an innovative solution creating significant value.
The Realisation: Everyone's Advising, But No One's Guiding
Over time, Sajjan's experience and interaction with people helped him notice a common pattern: people were overwhelmed with choices but lacked access to genuine and trustworthy experts. From skincare to career planning, most decisions were based on Google searches, artificial intelligence, peer suggestions, or social media posts. There was no central place to find verified, qualified consultants for life's everyday questions.
The Turning Point During the Pandemic
The COVID-19 lockdown pushed this realization further. People needed help in legal, financial, emotional, and mental matters, along with other regular categories. With rapid digitization, people were open to online services but still astray about where and how to get verified expert guidance.
That moment of stillness became Sajjan's spark: "What if there was one platform where anyone, from any city, could access verified consultants across all life categories?"
Building Conbun, One Step at a Time
In 2021, Sajjan began building what would become Conbun, an all-in-one online consultation platform. No big funding, no team of engineers, just a clear vision. From UX to verification, he oversaw everything. Today, Conbun offers help across 12+ categories, including nutrition, finance, therapy, personal care, child care, mind coaching, and more.
Built for Trust, Designed for Access
Each consultant on Conbun is manually verified, with a badge that signals their authenticity. The platform saw over 112,000 downloads within three months of launch, which is proof that users are ready for a smarter, safer way to get guidance. Especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, where access to quality advice is limited, Conbun is making a difference.
"In a country where everyone gives advice, we want to make expert help accessible, verified, simple, and judgment-free," shares Sajjan as he builds something that lasts.

Indian Travelers Upgrade to Premium Despite Fewer Trips

Travel disruptions due to unforeseen events may have led to fewer bookings among Indians, but they are making up for it by spending more for the premium experience of travel. The demand for premium travel to and from India is increasing, according to data shared by travel brand Trevolution Group. The company noted that despite lower volumes on outbound booking from India in the first half of 2025, its gross total bookings reached $68.36 million, up 6% from last year. This increase, it said, was driven primarily by higher spending and a greater share of premium-class purchases. 'The demand for business class bookings increased by 27.12%, while economy class demand saw a modest 0.78% rise, reinforcing the trend toward value-added, premium travel options,' the company said in a statement. For outbound travel from India, business class travel surged by 17.6%, 'pointing to a higher concentration of corporate and high-net-worth travelers.' 'We are now seeing more deliberate, higher-value travel to and from India, especially in business class,' said Alex Weinstein, the founder of Dyninno Group of Companies. 'The demand for trip protection and comfort is growing, as well as the demand for secondary hubs. This shows the evolving mindset of the Indian traveler.' The Inbound Travel Story: The overall surge in gross total bookings, however, was driven by inbound travel – which increased from $50.29 million to $56.10 million. According to Trevolution, this showed 'rising consumer spending and sustained interest in long-haul and purpose-driven travel to India.' It's worth noting here that expat Indians visiting friends and relatives form 20% of the numbers for inbound. The group issued over 39,000 airline tickets to India in the first half of 2025. This was a 4.21% increase over th

Exclusive: Mark Cuban says AI will be a baseline skill like email or Excel in 5 years and entrepreneurs should embrace it or get left behind

Mark Cuban sees a world where AI fluency will be a baseline skill in the near-future. To be a successful entrepreneur, the billionaire investor tells Fortune in an exclusive interview that business owners need to know how to work with AI agents to make their businesses more efficient and cut costs. Mark Cuban is no stranger to AI advocacy—but now the billionaire investor sees a reality where AI will be a 'baseline skill like email or Excel' in five years time. Cuban believes that for business owners, being skilled in AI will be a table-stakes expectation. It's how they leverage the technology that will dictate their success in the years ahead. The billionaire told Fortune in an email Q&A that in 10 years, 'we'll see more people working for themselves' with the help of AI assistants, which will turn 'solo founders into full teams.' 'If you're not using [AI] to move faster or make smarter decisions, you're behind,' he wrote. Not only does Cuban see AI as a skill necessary for anyone to learn, but also as a team member any entrepreneur can invest in to help build their future. For Cuban, the future starts now. The ex-Shark Tank star advises ZenBusiness, an AI platform that has helped over 850,000 small business owners start their own companies. Cuban sees AI assistants like the one ZenBusiness launched on Tuesday as 'the ultimate equalizer.' Cuban has a financial interest in the ZenBusiness platform. ZenBusiness this week announced the launch of 'Velo,' a new AI agent designed to automate business operations like regulatory filings, research, and website creation. The AI chatbot will take data and information provided by business owners through their ZenBusiness user portals and provide personalized advice with no additional charge, acting as a '24/7 advisor,' ZenBusiness CEO and Founder Ross Buhrdorf told Fortune. Cuban said AI agents like Velo have the capacity to act as an entrepreneur's 'VP of ops, your first sales rep, your data analyst, and your legal counsel rolled into one, minus the payroll.' But, he warned entrepreneurs should treat AI like 'your smartest intern: ask the right questions, but always double-check the answers.' Buhrdorf said the chat bot comes with human technical support. In 2024, 5.12 million new applications to launch businesses were filed, a 6.9% decrease from 2023, which saw a record-breaking 5.5 million new business applications filed, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau. While the pandemic, government stimulus and shifts to remote work drove record entrepreneurial activity, interest in starting new businesses remains strong. Cuban said the most common barriers for entrepreneurs today are 'fear and funding.' He believes AI agents can unlock entrepreneurs that are barred from entering an industry due to hiring costs. '[AI isn't] just a tool, it's leverage. If you're not using AI to move quicker and make smarter decisions, you're at a disadvantage,' Cuban wrote. 'The most successful entrepreneur will understand how to properly use AI.' Cuban believes AI won't replace entrepreneurs—rather, it will empower the ones who know how to harness the technology. 'At the end of the day, AI is a multiplier,' Cuban wrote. 'Use it, but don't be used by it.' This story was originally featured on Sign in to access your portfolio
